    Fibromyalgia…What Is It? Oct 09, 2017
    Show notes

Fibromyalgia…What is it? What’s the difference between chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis for muscle and joint aches and pains….Is it a real diagnosis? Jennifer is a guest at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, but before was seeing a regular doctor. She experienced symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, weight gain and the doctor essentially told her that it’s part of her age and something that she would simply have to live with. She listened to her doctor, continued to live her life as is, but as she entered her 30s, she learned that her endurance when she exercised depleted significantly, among other things. Her symptoms were getting worse and worse, and new symptoms were beginning to appear – muscle weakness, migraine headaches, cramping from menstrual cycles and more. Only 34 years old, she was becoming a truly sick woman and her health began affecting her career and personal life negatively. In the end, her doctor ultimately concluded that she was suffering from depression and began prescribing her antidepressants. When she reached out for second and third opinions, all diagnoses were the same and somehow winded back up to antidepressants or some sort of prescription drug. However, Jennifer decided to take charge of her own health and do a 180. What did she do? She found her way to the Hotze Health & Wellness Center. After finding out her hormone levels were imbalanced and she was suffering from hypothyroidism, the team at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center got her on natural, healthy program to start. And what happened next? Tune in to today’s show to learn more about the night and day difference Jennifer experienced after taking charge of her health, naturally. Time To Do A 180! Oct 02, 2017
    Show notes

Time to do a 180 and take charge of your health today….One of the number one symptoms guests come to the Hotze Health & Wellness Center with is fatigue; Most doctors try to tell you that your symptom is your diagnosis, and there’s likely a pharmaceutical drug to pair with your diagnosis. Americans make up about five percent of the population of the world, however we consume about forty percent of the world’s pharmaceutical drugs. Why is that? He who pays the piper, calls the tune: Pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies impose certain standards on doctors in order to get their medicine out to the public. Tune in to today’s show to learn how to get on a path to health and wellness, naturally – without the use of pharmaceutical drugs. To learn more about how to take charge of your health and do a 180, get a copy of Dr. Hotze’s newest book at www.amazon.ca/Do-180-Join-Wellness-Revolution/dp/1599328755 and visit www.doa180.com to watch more videos!

    Hypothyroidism Peggy's Story Sep 27, 2017
    Show notes

On today’s show, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, tells a story from his book “Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness” – Peggy’s story. “If my life is going to be like this than I want a short life.” Exhaustion, joint pain, weight gain, brain fog, insomnia and much, much more: This was Peggy’s daily existence. Her daily life, as you can imagine, was completely unbearable. How did it come to this? Her personal life was going just fine, her family was doing well, but as a teenager Peggy was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. She was prescribed synthetic thyroids since that time but it didn’t provide her with any resolution of her symptoms. Her downhill slide began after her hysterectomy in her late 30s, when her symptoms worsened. Peggy scheduled an appointment for her doctor to check her thyroid levels: Her doctor was disinterested with her, condescended to her and created an overall negative experience for Peggy. He simply tried to pawn her off with anti-depressant medication. After finally agreeing to take on anti-depressant prescription medication, eventually she added a cocktail of even more unhealthy drugs to intake, like Adderall and sleep medication. This is the story we hear often at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center: Synthetic thyroid medications don’t even contain active thyroid hormone. Tune in to Dr. Hotze’s Wellness Revolution to learn how Peggy was evaluated, treated and how much her overall quality of life has improved. To learn more about hypothyroidism and get a copy of Dr. Hotze’s book, “Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness” at www.hotzehwc.com/dr-steven-hotzes-books. What Have We Learned From Thyroid Research Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

120 years of thyroid research…What have we learned? The thyroid gland is located in the neck and produces the natural thyroid hormone, but back in the 19th century, this information was completely unheard of. Symptoms like fatigue, cold body temperatures, depression and more couldn’t be helped, particularly in women, because nobody knew the cause; Back in 1888, The Clinical Society of London united to try and solve this common problem. Autopsies showed that the thyroid glands of these effected dead bodies were greatly scarred, and researchers soon discovered a possible link. Hypothyroidism, or a low thyroid condition, brings people lower energy and therefore a lower metabolism. If you don’t get enough thyroid hormone into your cells, then your mitochondria won’t be able to produce enough energy for your body. Clinical symptoms today bring the same symptoms that were found in 1888, when thyroid research began in London, only now we know the cause and how to treat it. Visit www.doa180.com to learn more about how to take charge of your health. Additionally, it may also be important for you to check out our symptom checker at www.hotzehwc.com/symptom-checker to ensure you have the energy to feel your best as your march through your life and to discover what really may be going on with your body. Don’t wait – this is the first step toward getting your life back!

Hormone Imbalance Effects On Women Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

Hormone imbalance…How does it affect you? Nobody should be more concerned about your own health than you, and it’s up to you to take charge of yourself. On today’s show, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, breaks down the effects of hormone imbalance, particularly for women. If your energy level is low, you’re going to experience low metabolism, joint and muscle aching, bowel discomfort, loss of romantic desires and more; A major cause of this is not having enough active natural thyroid in their bodies. Dr. Hotze takes a question from Faceboook Live to break down a situation where a 45-year-old woman has for 10 years now been experiencing horrible menstrual cycles, adrenal deficiency, weight gain, cyst and polyps and more. Dr. Hotze relays that these hormone imbalances are more common than most people may think, and the issues more often than not go undiagnosed. Decline in thyroid hormone means a decline in your energy levels and most likely an increase in weight gain; However, a natural thyroid supplementation plan can enable your cells to produce more energy, and as a result make you feel better physically. Do you have a cold? Or is it allergies? On today’s show, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, compares and contrast having a cold versus having allergies and how to tell the difference between the two. Allergy season is already among us in Southeast Texas, and cold and flu season is soon coming. How can you know what’s negatively impacting your immune system? Houston is known as the allergy capital in the world, and the entire Gulf Coast region causes allergy problems for people all throughout the region. Realtor Georgia Strong Sep 19, 2017
    Show notes

On today’s show, we talk home and health tips after the flood with special guest Georgia Strong, a realtor with the Georgia Strong Realty Group and a current guest at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center who spoke at the Hurricane Harvey Flood Recovery Meeting. She’s had her real estate company for 13 years, lives a fast-paced life, but she saw markers along the way that she was feeling fatigued, distressed, etc. By 2014, she had incredibly high blood pressure and was taken to the emergency room, given cardiac medication and took more tests; Nothing came from the results. Her stress had intensified, coupled with the pressures of her career, Georgia realized she wasn’t making taking care of herself a priority. The doctors she saw couldn’t pinpoint a problem from their testing, so they only could put her on preventative medication. High blood pressure is not a diagnosis, it’s merely a symptom. While taking her blood pressure medicine, Georgia still felt ill. She was on the medication for five months and then finally had enough. She knew about Dr. Hotze for years and finally made an appointment in July 2015 and that’s when her life changed. Health problems like fatigue, mood swings, weight gain and more went away after she began a program that included a taking a natural thyroid. To learn more about Georgia Strong’s story on taking charge of her life and doing a 180, tune in to today’s show! Show notes

Health hazards of flooded homes…What should you look for? On top of helping over 31,000 guests at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center in 25 years, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, is taking charge to help families and victims from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey along with thousands of other much-needed and much-appreciated volunteers throughout the Houston area. Around 200 people attended our Hurricane Harvey Flood Recovery Meeting in Katy filled with informative and entertaining speakers featuring builders, attorneys, real-estate agents and more. There are numerous medical hazards in flood-damaged homes from the molds and black water that got into houses; Sewers backed up, mixed with water throughout the city and found its way into numerous homes around the Gulf Coast. If you try to sell your home, a mold count will be taken for records; If there is in fact mold, it will be much harder to sell your home. Perhaps most unfortunately, 82% of Houstonians don’t have the proper flood insurance to fully repair their homes, so it’s important to learn the most efficient ways to rebuild your home from trustworthy sources. We will be putting on another event this Saturday, September 23rd so you can learn more about what to do with your flooded home and the relating health hazards, remediation process, selling options, legal remedies and more. Lastly, we’re sorry to say that Dr. Ed Young’s wife, Joe Beth, passed away this past weekend. Please send your prayers to Dr. Ed Young and his family. You can also still donate to Second Baptist’s efforts to help the Hurricane Harvey victims throughout all six of their campuses throughout the Houston area at www.Second.org.

As we continue to rebuild the city of Houston after the destruction of Hurricane Harvey, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center breaks down why you’re fatigued, not thinking clearly, stressed out and more. There are some things you can do now before coming in for an appointment at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, like cleaning up your eating lifestyle: Anything in a package, box or simple sugars, carbohydrates – just eliminate them. No need for sugar highs, sugar lows and gained weight. Eat a lot of greens, of course, with a meat, 6 to 8 ounces is just enough. This is a paleo eating program, which is completely different than what the FDA suggests. Be sure to take plenty of Vitamin C to boost your immune system, which plenty of people will need as they clean the mold in their homes. Then, Dr. Hotze expands on the growing of mold and other allergens throughout Houston and the surrounding area, what to do about it and how to eliminate it safely.
