    Show notes

    Dillon Mason:

So this podcast is a bit of a different one, as I was waiting at my van in Byron Bay a guy walking past noticed the work I’d done inside and started chatting about it and hit it off straight away, soon after he showed me how he had set his van very similar, that was the start of the similarities between us but not the last.I got him number and we went out seperate ways until the next day when we met back up to go diving out at the ship wreck off the main beach of Byron. After the dive we kept chatting and realised we were on very similar paths in life and almost at the exact same point, I can’t say I have ever met something and had an immediate connection like this so what else would I do.. do a podcast and share it with all of you guys.

I hope you enjoy a bit of a different one this time around.I’d love to bring more out like this on my travels, learning from new people like this is what the podcast is built around.

    Enjoy!

    Episode 22 - Lee Hogan Nov 19, 2020
    Show notes

On this episode of the podcast I sit down with Australian MX legend Lee Hogan.

Lee was a multi time time race winner and champion in both outdoors and super cross back in the early to mid 90’s racing against such riders as Chad Reed and Jay Marmont.

Unfortunately due to injury Lee had to retire from the sport of motocross while still at the pointy end, after that Lee found a new love coaching and helping the next generation of racers and has never looked back since with him continuing to set up school all around the country.

From schools to off road tours Lee is a person that constantly has a million things on the go and uses his passion and enjoyment for the sport industry to keep that alive.

Not many people stay in the sport they were so successful at once competing is over but Lee has done just that and continues to work hard to build himself and his brand up further.

Really hope you enjoy the chat!

    Episode 21 - Charlie Harrison Nov 11, 2020
    Show notes

On this episode of the podcast I sit down with one of my favourite people in the world Charlie Harrison.Charlie and myself along with rest of the world have gone through quite a different year then we’re used to, both of heading to Europe but getting our trips cut short due to the pandemic and injury. From those lows and the extra time it’s given us we’ve both used that time to educate ourselves and also view the world through a different lens and can now see the positives in everything that’s happened.

Just a little side note, I mentions a certain rider during the podcast and how from my point of view the product they’re using could be more sustainable, this is by no means a sub at the company or rider and just an example of something I have recently seen.Across the board I think we all need to be more sustainable and take better care of this earth we all love.

    Thanks Chuck!

    Enjoy.

On this episode of the podcast I sit down with Mitch Smith.

Mitch and myself have been friends for a while now but iv only ever scratched the surface on his past accolades, current projects and future plans until a series of some would say unlucky events led me to start living a few minutes from his house.

Since then iv had the opportunity to get to know Mitch on a new level with talks at his restaurant Stockpot in Mt Beauty to him helping me coat a frame of mine now that’s he’s started a new coating business 74works.

We also go into Mitches past ski history and the roll he played in coaching up at Falls Creek. As a whole this has been one of my favour podcast to date, I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.Enjoy.

    Episode 18 - Joe McDonald Apr 03, 2020
    Show notes

Joe McDonald is a close mate of mine from my home town in Albury/Wodonga that like myself spends most of his time travelling around the world when he’s not spending winters at falls creek and summers up at the Sunshine Coast.

With the current situation going on Joe and I were forced into self isolation for two weeks after getting home from overseas. After the two weeks were up we were both lucky enough to be able to get a place up at falls creek. We have both still been laying low and haven’t really seen anyone else besides when we get groceries so we’ve decided to try and keep ourselves and anyone listening a bit of entertainment by continuing the podcast while in this strange time.

    Enjoy!

    Episode 16 - Rick Boyer Feb 27, 2020
    Show notes

On this episode of the podcast I sit down with Rick ‘Smoothies’ Boyer and go over everything from where the future of downhill racing in Australia is going to his iconic Chosen Line movie he helped create with Glen Jacob’s and also the new direction he’s decided to go in life after splitting ways with Lusty industries.

Rick has been a true founder for downhill here in Australia not only through his race wins at a national level but also with the reach he gave mountain biking through getting his Chosen Line movie onto Fuel TV over ten years ago.Rick inspired many young kids including myself to get out with friends and really just enjoy riding your bike and exploring new places along the way.

I think this is has been best continued on my the current Vanzacs who have gone the similar direction as what Rick did with riding more for fun with your friends over the traditional racing path.

    Hope you enjoy the episode.
