The early 2000s were one of the greatest eras in Dancehall history. Every club, street jam, sound system, and party was fueled by infectious riddims, unforgettable hooks, and artists who helped take Jamaican music to every corner of the world. This mix is my tribute to that incredible period, bringing together the songs that dominated dancefloors and became the soundtrack of a generation.
This mix celebrates the golden age of Dancehall, where legendary riddims like Diwali, Buy Out, and Fiesta produced hit after hit. These were the records every DJ had in rotation because they never failed to get a crowd moving. Even today, these songs instantly transport you back to packed clubs, late night parties, and unforgettable memories.
Inside this mix you'll hear timeless anthems from Wayne Wonder including Friend Like Me, Bounce Along, and No Letting Go. Beenie Man reminds everyone why he earned the title King of Dancehall with classics like Fresh From Yard, Dude, Girls Dem Sugar, L.O.V.E, and King of the Dancehall. Shaggy delivers nonstop energy with Wild 2nite, Full Control, Ready Fi Di Ride, It Wasn't Me, and Hey Sexy Lady, songs that became international favorites.
Sean Paul is in top form with club staples including Can You Do The Work, Like Glue Remix, Get Busy Remix, Ever Blazin', and Gimme The Light. T.O.K. continue the momentum with Money To Burn, Galang Gal, Chi Chi Man, She's Hot, and Gal Yu Ah Lead Remix, proving why they were one of the defining groups of the era.
The mix also highlights crossover classics from Rihanna with If It's Lovin' That You Want and Pon De Replay, Kevin Lyttle with She Drives Me Crazy and Turn Me On Remix, Lumidee's Never Leave You, Elephant Man's explosive Pon De River Pon De Bank, Rupee's Tempted To Touch, Cham's Vitamin S, Lady Saw's Man Is The Least, Akon's Gunshot, and many more records that connected Dancehall with Hip Hop, R&B, and Pop audiences around the world.
Every transition in this mix has been carefully crafted to recreate the atmosphere of a packed dancefloor during Dancehall's biggest years. The energy builds naturally from one anthem to the next, allowing each song to shine while keeping the momentum alive from beginning to end. This is more than a collection of classics. It is a musical journey through one of the most influential periods in Caribbean music.
Whether these songs remind you of your first party, your favorite sound system, or the days of burning CDs and downloading music during the early internet era, this mix is guaranteed to bring back memories while introducing a new generation to the records that shaped modern Dancehall.
Turn the volume up, relive the golden era, and let the music take you back to when Dancehall ruled every club.
