We get the full Fundie Family Experience this week. It's a Bates-Duggars event. Some kids get to fiddlin'. Some participate in Whitney's bloodsport of choice:4-square. The dads get to pat each other on the back for having so many kids. We watch a very red-faced Bates boy get so uncomfortable when he gets to sit next to a young woman that's not in his family.

Watch as Lego forgets to send the dress code memo to the rest of the family at a "Christian media event." We get to watch Duggar Time happen and the impact it has on the crew. The brood rolls into the Georgia Aquarium and get a meet n' greet with a couple of penguins. We get a multitude of Jinger faces and watch Cannon get her engine revved up for her man in a wetsuit...ew (I didn't even like typing that).

A couple of episodes ago we saw Jill "teaching" some young kids in a blue polo with the Children's Institute logo on it. In this Dig, we explore what exactly that is and how it was totally better "back in my day"! It seems a little like Billy G's version of VBS...V.I.B.L.P.S. if you will.

Whoa! The storied Duggar moments were on deck in this episode. Cannon's celebrity crush just invited the brood to come to HIS church in Atlanta. While they were rehearsing, we witnessed "The Fall"! Jason fell into the orchestra pit, and we get a clear view of why Jackson is such a sweet, thoughtful child. We proceed to watch Cannon, just out putting on a show for all the people on the lake. Cannon really had to clean up her rep these last couple episodes. She can't have us thinking that she doesn't do anything. She was reading prenap stories and now we watch her doing homeschool with the Little Ones. The pop-up did say that Jessa helps, "occasionally." Sure, Jan. It’s ATI Conference time! We get a flash of the Lost Boys at Alert Cadet Camp. The "little ladies" are, of course, taking care of children. The whole crew attends an "International Day" at a local Elementary School. We watch them make "torteelyuhs".

In our Dig, we take a look at the genesis of the ALERT Academy and ALERT Cadet program. It's so inspirational it made IBLP Dads weep. We look at how they sell the Cadet program as: it's just Boy Scouts with a splash of religion. Behind the scenes it's a group based in dogma to develop a righteous army for the Lord...with Smores!

TLC was thoughtful this time and didn't make us sit through more footage of the gang driving for 20 hours! We fast forward to them at Niagara Falls. They all talked about how beautiful it was, but there were rainbows everywhere (gasp)! The older ones got to ride a jet boat while the little ones got to go fishing and stay dry.

Appropriate for a show that includes Lego Hair, and Pest, we dig into the IBLP teachings on "irritations". Billy G sure knows how to build a pyramid scheme where you consider yourself the problem. The only appropriate thing to do in response to this is "yielding" all of your rights. We explore Billy's convoluted way of gaslighting his followers into denying how they feel and blame themselves for everything.

On location at the TTM, Lego Hair says the quiet part loud when he says that "We" are gonna start a large scale yard project, and then proceeds to do nothing to help complete it. You know it's a shitshow when the production crew has to step to try and help them finish. We get treated to another montage of Famy attempting to cook and the fam celebrates Anna's birthday.

Summertime has arrived which means you may have seen banners for Vacation Bible School going up around town. We explore the genesis of VBS and the changes over the years. Two different companies run the VBS paraphernalia game and we look into some questionable choices they've made.

The Duggars have such a busy day. Good Morning America is there to watch the, and I quote, "barely controlled chaos." Josie has to go visit the doc, and we meet the author of "Before You Meet Prince Charming". It's a good thing these kids don't have...real school to work around.

In our dig we explore, Sarah Mally, the author of the aforementioned book. It sold like hotcakes in Christian circles. We look at the book, the author, and a barely-veiled fable with an alligator that seems like the only fun one in the story.
