    Dennis & Julie

Dennis Prager and Julie Hartman explore all aspects of life, in particular the crisis of American education. Julie was a student senior at Harvard who sensed that most of her life she was exposed to one perspective. She found Dennis Prager’s book “Still the Best Hope,” and she realized she actually held many conservative beliefs. She reached out to Dennis and that was the beginning of a new partnership that culminates in their weekly podcast.

Julie is doing her utmost to live a completely honest life, but obeying traffic laws/signs when no one is around, and white lies may be inevitable. Happiness requires effort… no pain no gain. Fun is what you experience during the moment… happiness is what you experience after the moment. Julie has discovered that developing an internal infrastructure helps lead to happiness. The greatest generation didn’t pass on the values and wisdom that they lived by. The deadening of younger generations began last century with the advent of television and the unleashing of social media on society. Dennis recalls one on the most memorable calls of his career, which leads him to clarify that God judges your actions, not your thoughts. Listeners responded to acknowledging your “dark side,” from episode #36. You control whether your thoughts become your actions. Dennis clarifies some fundamental differences between Judaism and Christianity. Judaism brought laws and judgement of actions to humanity, while Christianity brought faith and judgement of thoughts. Men lust… those who say they don’t are lying to themselves. Dennis learned at an early age that the will to do bad, leads us to do good. Do Christians really believe Dennis is going to hell?

The conservative community is an intellectual America-loving and accepting group. While the Left is focused on demographics, the Right is focused on ideas. Secular expectations versus religious expectations. Has “holy” become a bad word? Leftism is the pathway to cheap grace. It has become popular to believe that self-control is repression. Dennis has a theory on why Jews complain more than Christians… suffering… Jews aim to alleviate it and Christians view it as ennobling. Julie discusses Nietzsche and the consequences of the politics of victimhood. It’s not dignified to be a victim. It’s not dignified to curse. If not the Bible, where do you get wisdom from? Secularism has ushered in the era of the walking deadened. Are we all born equally with respect to morality?
