In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer touches on the most egregious moral outrages from the past week. Leading the week in repugnancy is credited to Planned Parenthood with its release of a new “educational video” targeting children entitled “What is Virginity?” Right at the top, a teacher is seen telling her class that the word virginity “is a completely made up concept,” intended to control and shame people for losing it. And the primary target is…You guessed it: Women! Bauer says the nausea-inducing muck gets worse from there, and sums up the film’s message to kids: Sex isn’t dangerous or shameful. Rather, it feels good, and it’s fun. Just do it! Next up is President Joe Biden’s wars and rumors thereof. With the globe at the tipping point of worldwide conflict, Biden’s Secretary of State, Antony Blinken found time to release a memo instructing the state department’s 77,000 employees on the proper use of pronouns. Bauer closes with a story from Massachusetts where three high school girl basketball players were so brutalized by a transgender player on the opposing team that they could not go on, forcing their coach to inform the referees that they must forfeit the game.

In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer interviews special guest Tom Rose, who shares astonishing revelations recently discovered by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during its military operations in Gaza. The IDF has uncovered an extensive multi-billion dollar tunnel system, longer and more complex than the London subway system. Hamas uses these underground highways to hide and execute terrorist attacks on Israeli citizens. Rose shares that the IDF operation to destroy Hamas once and for all is going far better than is being reported in American media. Rose reports that the IDF has killed about 50 percent of the estimated 40,000 Hamas forces since October 7, 2023. When the Biden administration admonishes Israel to take all measures to avoid civilian casualties, they are not being fully transparent. In virtually every home the IDF has searched thus far in Gaza, Israeli forces have found weapons of war (stock piles of large-caliber ammunition, machine guns, grenades, rocket launchers, etc.).

Here is the President’s moving, unforgettable closing paragraph to America 38 years ago: “The crew of the space shuttle Challenger honored us by the manner in which they lived their lives. We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved goodbye and ‘slipped the surly bonds of earth’ to ‘touch the face of God.’”

In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer shares little-known details from NASA’s Apollo 8 mission that took its three astronaut crew 10 orbits around the moon over six days. Although Crew Commander, Frank Borman, Lunar Module Pilot, Fred W. Haise Jr., and Command Module Pilot, Edwin E. Aldrin Jr., accomplished all mission objectives, they are perhaps best remembered for their first-of-its-kind Christmas Eve telecast from outer space. The crew read verses from the first chapter of Genesis and then wished viewers, “Good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas and God bless all of you—all of you on the good Earth.” As there is nothing new under the sun, this event, which was beloved by the vast majority of Americans, infuriated the late Atheist and Separationist, Madalyn Murray O’Hair so much that she sued NASA administrator Thomas Paine and the U.S. government, arguing that the astronauts violated the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause. To quote a famous repetitive refrain from the late author Kurt Vonnegut’s book Slaughterhouse-Five seems apropos: “And so it goes…”
