When Calls the Heart - S12E10 - Through the Valley (2025) ft. Jacklyn Collier Mar 12, 2025
    Show notes

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH

We've got some class project presentations going on. Baby Jack is sleeping through class, so he's probably dying. She lets them loose outside, and Nathan comes by for lunch and to tell her that he has been promoted to Head Constable.
Edie comes to talk to Lucas. He is being sued for his executive order, and she is trying to get out from underneath McGinty's thumb.
Bill is surprised to see his old pal Georgie back in town, and he's not upset about it.
Elizabeth is helping student Emily come up with an idea for her project. She's been helping with the nut business, so they go to talk to Gowen, and he's like, "Oh, Emily is brilliant. She figured out something to do with sawdust." Sounds like she has a project idea after all.
Frickem & Mei decide that they're going to throw a harvest festival, as Mei's family used to do every year.
Nathan and Lucas go to talk to McGinty about his dirty contracts that are screwing farmers and Edie out of their land. McGinty is like, "I'd like a restraining order against the governor and Edie. Also, I'd like your daughter to pay a $25 trespassing fee." This makes Nathan really mad.
When he goes to talk to Allie about it, she breaks down and says she'll pay it.
Emily finds out that she missed the deadline to apply for college.
Bill and Georgie go to question the dumb Garrison they have arrested, who gives them some valuable information, none of which I'll bore you with here.
Allie goes to ask Elizabeth if she can change her project. She doesn't want to study the salmon anymore because of the trespassing situation. She's like, "We're not going to let him get away with this easily. Mr. McGinty is doing something wrong, and he shouldn't get away with it." When they go to talk to Nathan, Oliver is like, "I figured out how to get him. He's been using trees that only grow on Lee's land." So, they bring McGinty in and tell him that unless he forgives all the debts and the trespassing, Lee is going to press charges on him.
Georgie goes to thank Rosemary for her help in the Garrison case, which makes her very happy. Georgie then tells Bill that she's leaving, and he kisses her!
The next day, baby Jack goes missing! Nathan finds him unconscious in the woods. They bring him to Dr. Faith, and he's back, baby! Elizabeth tells Faith that he fell asleep in class and that he's always hungry. Faith runs some tests, and her worst fear is confirmed. She goes to tell Elizabeth that Baby Jack has diabetes, and Elizabeth is shocked. There is no cure for diabetes.

The Reluctant Royal (Hallmark Channel - 2025) Mar 11, 2025
    Show notes

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH
More flags. More royal music. It’s Reluctant Royal time, baby! Johnny is under a car, working his magic, muscles bulging. His girlfriend shows up to have it out with him and find out if he’s ready to take their relationship to the next level. He is not, so she breaks up with him. But then her car won’t start. Johnny works his magic, and off she goes. After work, he heads to the bar, where he’s selling his juice. The bartender isn’t thrilled to be selling juice, but it’s Johnny! Who can say no to Johnny?!
Cut to a palace where Prudence is helping keep things running smoothly. She goes to talk to the Duke, who is wanting to retire but has no one to take his place. That is, until Prudence discovers that he has a long-lost son.
So, she shows up to talk to that son. It’s Johnny. She arrives in the middle of his karaoke performance and tells him that his father, the Duke, would like to meet him. He’s not interested until she talks to his mom, who never really told him about his father. She encourages him to go and meet him, and so off he goes. Prudence is surprised when he shows up and begins to notice that he’s a bit rough around the edges. He won’t even change his clothes to abide by the dress code.
They meet, and you can tell they’re related because they both touch their hair when they’re uncomfortable. Johnny tells the Duke that he doesn’t want any money, he just wants to know why he left. This does not go well, so Johnny leaves and heads to a bar. Prudence tracks him down to try to convince him to stay. They agree to let darts decide his fate. Obviously, she wins, so back to the palace he goes.
He starts hanging out with Prudence, riding bikes, getting to know more about the palace, his father, and learning more about her. They ride horses, he makes juice, and he’s actually starting to enjoy himself. It’s time for his first royal fancy dinner. He has a cousin that he really dislikes. So, when he stands up and tells the Duke that he’s excited to take his spot, Johnny stands up and tells his dad that he’s had a change of heart—he’s in. His dad is thrilled.
He’s feeling a bit stressed, so he goes to work on a car. His dad comes out to join him, and they chat. This becomes a nightly occurrence. The next day, Prudence teaches him how to slow dance, and they almost kiss.
He finally has a heart-to-heart with his dad. He finds out that he never received the letter that Johnny’s mom sent telling him about Johnny. And she never got his letters. I guess his dad was monitoring the mail. It’s a sweet moment, and the next day they go for a ride in the car that Johnny fixed. Johnny takes his dad to his juice operation and invites them all to the royal dance.
Everything is going great until the cousin brings some shocking news: turns out Johnny’s right to the throne is illegitimate because Johnny was born after the marriage to Johnny’s mom was annulled. Johnny says, “Well, at least I got to meet my dad.” He goes to leave, and Prudence tries to stop him, but he leaves.
Prudence isn’t going to give up so easily and thinks she’s found something. She goes to make sure Johnny comes to the ball, where his mom is waiting for him. She announces that the annulment certificate isn’t authentic. The Duke is left-handed, and his signature leaves a smudge. This one doesn’t have a smudge, so it’s not his signature. In fact, the Duke and Johnny’s mom are probably still married! The cousin is furious and leaves.
Johnny and the Duke hug. Johnny gives a speech, and then he slow-dances with Prudence as everyone watches. They go outside, kiss—BIG OL' HONKIN’ ONES—and then run away. The next day, Johnny and Prudence are hanging out by the horses. Dad comes in and lets them know that one of Johnny’s other cousins, Desmond, is getting married, and they’re going to give him a horse. Johnny still has much to learn about his family tree.

The episode starts with Connie recording a vlog about how her husband is being arrested. Apparently this was from a past year. The family is now sitting in the dark because husband Chuck went too hard on the Christmas lights again. She’s trying to show why the no conflict contract is so important. Chuck is the hold out and he finally agrees to sign it.
The next day, he brings in a battery pack to power the tree. He can tell that something is bothering his wife because she wants a family photo and her mantle fixed. He agrees to do it and is like see: I don’t need a contract to be nice.
With the power being out, Chuck ends up getting in a competition with his son Clark about how to get the power back on - old school or new school.
They all begin to notice something is wrong with Connie. She ends up leaving and we see her trying to get into some medical center but it’s closed for the holidays.
While she’s gone, the family continues to fight over things like who ate the salami?
Connie sends Chuck to go get a reindeer. Turns out they’re out of reindeer but he can get an alpaca.
While he’s doing that, Katie comes home and tells her mom that she was just broken up with. So the family comes together to support her. She returns ring. Mom is mad and says she may not be here next Christmas. She tells them she may have cancer but doesn’t know. She needs a break. Power back on, surprise. Power off

    Show notes

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH

Kat and Jacob are looking at the house burnt down and trying to figure out how their dad was there. Jacob says we can’t both leave, one of us has to stay and help Elijah. He says she should stay.
So Jacob goes back and tells everyone about the fire. Del is shocked to hear this news and Elliot is shocked to find out that Kat stayed behind with Thomas. Alice asked to describe what Colton was wearing and she figures out that’s why he was in the pond the day of that funeral.
Jacob goes to the computer to figure how he can get back at the Goodwins by ruining their wine vineyard.
Elliot is looking at the clock and finds some something inside of it.
Jacob goes to work and figure out where the keys are for the fuel tanks and how to get into the garage to get those keys.
Alice goes back to the 70s to try to get answers and Colton tells her the record label is interested in his music and they should go sing together! She says I don’t think I should go. But Evelyn going to go with him and be her groupie. But all he really wants is to get many to impress Del’s family. Alice catches him in the pond and confronts him.
Kat finds out that the fire has done damage to Cyrus’ lungs and he’s going to die.
Colton tells Alice about how he didn’t believe his grandma about the pond but one day it worked and it took him back to the 1800’s. He was so happy that he could help his ancestors. He comes back and tells his grandma and she is mad because he told them their future by talking about crops.
He jumped again the day of Rick’s funeral, he jumped hoping he could stop it. He ends up back in the 1800s and sees the riot and he felt responsible. He says he just tried again and that the pond doesn’t work for him because he told them the future. For that reason, when he asks if she’s like him, she says no. She then sees him get back to the farm where Del is waiting for him and he proposes to her and she says yes.
She comes back and tells Del that he only time traveled as a teenager, never during your marriage. He never lied. But Del is still discouraged.
Back in the 1800s, Thomas tells Kat that he once jumped to get to her but it didn’t work. She says if this was going to work, I’d have to stay here and give up my life. Obviously she can’t do it and he says he’s going to leave and go find some family. She says goodbye my Thomas.
Back in the 70s, Del asks Colton if he’s going to go to San Fransisco for the music executive and he says he wants to stay here with her.
Elliot convinces Jacob to bring him back to the 1800s to help with the repairs. Thomas watches as Kat and Elliot embrace and kiss. Then he makes eye contact with Elliot and they do a head nod.
Evelyn tells Colton that she’s leaving. He has to let her go. You have big dreams too - don’t let anyone stop you and just looks at Del.
Alice goes to hang out with Max and they have a real heart to heart and they kiss.
She goes to talk to her mom and she’s like did I kiss him cuz I wants to or because I know we end up together? Kat is like well did you want to kiss?
No one knows where Jacob is but Del opens his laptop and knows about the fire. She goes down there and yells at her baby boy to get back in the truck and he does, but uh oh! There's a security camera.

The Royal We (Hallmark Channel - 2025) Mar 04, 2025
    Show notes

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH

The movie kicks off with royal music and flags so that you know what you're getting yourself into. We meet Prince Desmond, who is getting pictures taken with Princess Coralina because they are going to get married despite the fact that they don’t really know each other at all.
Some time passes, and Desmond walks in to talk to Edwin, the butler, and catches him drawing devil horns on Princess Coralina. We find out that Princess Coralina broke things off with Desmond by eloping with a plumber. Desmond is doing quite fine with the breakup. His parents, on the other hand? King Richmond bets it’s political! Desmond promises to make sure their countries don’t go to war. He remembers that Coralina has a sister. Guess he could just marry her.
Her name is Beatrix, and she lives in the States, working a normal job and going through a normal breakup. She begins getting a call from a foreign number but doesn’t want any part of it. She answers and tells them never to call back again in a different language. Then, she walks outside, and someone is watching her through binoculars. Her friend Chloe notices him, but Bea is like, “Don’t worry about it; I’m sure he’s just looking for birds.” But he is not there just looking for birds. They end up getting cornered by some SUVs in an alley. Chloe is like, “I’m not letting you get kidnapped without me,” so she tags along.
They make it to Desmond, and she is not having it with this royal nonsense, but then he proposes. She needs some time. Ultimately, this marriage between the countries was mainly to maintain peace between the two countries, something the kings stopped working towards once the engagement between Desmond and Coralina was broken off.
So Beatrix decides to say yes, only so their dads can continue working towards an agreement. She has one request: to stop using the royal "we" and start talking in "I's." On their first night together, she convinces him to sneak out with her and get pizza and go bowling. They get into some trouble, but they have some fun! Obviously, they start to enjoy each other's company. They go to visit his parents, and then they go to visit hers. They keep having these late-night meet-ups, all above board.
The families end up coming to an agreement, which means they don’t have to get married. She gives him back the ring and says, “Hopefully, next time you give this to someone, it won’t be for politics.”
They go to leave but realize that they do want to get married. So he runs after her, and she runs after him. He proposes, and she says yes. They kiss.

Gaby is having a dream of what it’ll be like when her brother Kevin married her childhood rival, Katie. It’s a mess and the entire party begins chanting EASY BAKE!

She wakes up to Katie waking her up by calling her easy bake and taking an unflattering picture of her. Some things never change.

Gaby isn’t convinced Katie has changed. She thinks she’s purposely trying to make Gaby’s holiday miserable. She finally comes to talk to her brother about it when Katie brings back breakfast burritos from her favorite spot even though she knew Gaby was making burritos for breakfast.

While out getting a Christmas tree, she tries to talk to Katie about how she bullied Gaby as kids, but Katie doesn’t want to talk about it, and then promptly cuts a Christmas tree down on her. Could be a coincidence, but then Katie takes a picture of her on the ground! She claims it’s for a Christmas photo album.

Later, Katie corners Gaby and tells her to stop trying to get in the way of what she has with Kevin.

Kevin goes next door to ask Katie’s dad for his blessing of propose to Katie. Needless to say, he does not give his blessing and sharpens his ax instead.

Gaby sneaks a spicy pepper into her dinner, which is bad timing, because Kevin proposes anyway. Her parents figure out what she’s done and confront her and she says yea I did it but she’s ruined my life.

We see the video of them as kids when Katie got the entire school to chant EASY BAKE at Gaby’s science project presentation.

The next day, she goes to talk to Gaby and says they need to talk things out. Katie explains that it happened out of jealousy for Gaby ignoring her as a kid and hanging out with the other smart kids. She felt abandoned. They make up. Episode over.

Except it’s not, because Kevin opened up Gaby’s laptop and sees the easy bake video! He tells her maybe he doesn’t know her after all.

Everyone is pretty sad but they still have to go volunteer at the Christmas festival. Kevin dresses up like Santa but he is just sad. Katie shows up as Mrs Claus and slams the ring down and her dad tackles Kevin off the stage.

The episode ends with Gaby making a sad baking video as the power goes off. Worst Christmas ever.

Back in the 1800's, Kat and Thomas are talking and kissing some more. She's like what am I even doing here? Am I just trying to get back at Elliot? Thomas is like i dunno man. She is like I just gotta have some time. When she gets back to the present, she walks by Elliots how and she locks eyes with him...he knows she time traveled.
Alice and Kat are talking and Alice talks about how she believes that Casey is her kid and it's messing with her. She walks outside as Noah is walking up and she breaks up with him. Kat is looking through the archives that Casey worked on and she notices that they signed their name as the letter K.C.
Alice travels back and time to talk to Colton and he sings her a song that sounds a lot like a song about diving into the pond and time traveling.
Del is grappling with the fact that Colton knew about the pond and just watched her mourn the loss her child.
Kat tells Elliot about the kiss and then promptly goes back the 1800's to kiss Thomas some more. He tells her that Susanna is in trouble because people are real mad at Cyrus right now. So she goes to rescue him.
Alice is back in the 70s and she records a track with Colton. He then plays the song that he wrote for Del but didn't get to play for her and it makes Alice cry.
Back in the 1800's, Kat catches up with with Susanna but then they're captured and brought to Cyrus. Cyrus found the painting and knows that Susanna has been protecting Kat in 1814. He's mad and he's going to take the angry mob to the Landry farm to burn it down.
Alice gets back to the pond and finds Evelyn face first in the pond. Alice freaks out on her and tells her her poems womp.
Back in the 1800's, Susanna and Kat try to warn them to leave but they won't. The house catches on fire and Jacob is stuck. Someone drags him out. Who is it? It's Colton! He runs away. He jumps in the pond and comes back and is very upset for some reason. He sees Alice and he asks if everything is okay in the farm.
