Benefactors come in all shapes and sizes and everyone can use a helping hand once in a while. Sometimes, however, relationships with a patron, employer, or other types of benefactor can become strained. Or worse.

Detailed in Benebads are entities who can offer benefits to a party of adventurers in the short or long term, but who can also transform into a formidable villain, providing conflict, intrigue, and excitement for any type of campaign.

Each "BeneBad" has a detailed history and description, a full-page piece of art, a secret agenda, group patron perks, known associates, and a list of quests and other adventure seeds to get your creative juices flowing. Many offer maps of their stronghold or lair from which they operate as well as ways to fit them into your particular campaign world and alternative motivations for their behavior.

Best-selling Dmsguild author Chan Lensch joins us to share a bit about his work and talk with us about his passion project the Bard College of Percussion.

The bards of percussion manipulate the emotions of those around them. They are excellent communicators, know the hearts of those around them, and are in tune with their surroundings whether on or off the battlefield.

The bards of the college of percussion are popular in the large armies of nobles and kings, as well as the humble war-bands of barbarian tribes and other savages. This shows that the percussive arts speak to all, regardless of their station and rank.

Oh, did we mention that it comes with a fleshed-out faction? Bonus! There are some pretty cool backgrounds, subclasses and not to mention the great detail on instruments in here. The backgrounds really intrigued me. One thing really caught my eye is in the background. There is street musician, military drummer, but the one I'm most interested in is the shaman. This is the first time we've seen a functional mechanical feature for a background (that I can think of). What interested to know what drove this decision. This certainly invites more power to backgrounds, but is that a bad thing? You can decide and share your thoughts during the live show.

Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition has certainly taken a different approach to their game design from past editions. They opened their playtest material to fans to play and experiment with mechanics and themes before the official release using their Unearthed Arcana. So you can bet your ass that we follow these releases pretty closely and choose what to cover. Well, there was no way in the Nine Hells we're going to miss out on talking (and speculating) on the details in the Travelers of the Multiverse UA.

Inside we found a plethora of content that is just...out of this world. Astral elves with radiant souls? Check. mechanical gnomes built by rock gnomes? Check. Insectile creatures encased in a protective chitin? Check. Giant flying squirrels? Check. Also...rules for playing an ooze? Hell yeah, and there is more! As I said, just totally alien. The release of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything introduced custom lineages that can allow the player to customize this from a mechanical standpoint.
