"When playing Dungeon & Dragons, there's nothing quite like being the Dungeon Master. While players are able to experience exciting adventures and play their characters with more freedom than nearly any other type of game can allow, DMs are in control of the entire world the campaign inhabits. In addition to controlling all NPCs, a DM is responsible for creating a fleshed-out world for players to explore. The type of world a DM establishes can vary greatly, drawing influences from everything from their favorite video games to their favorite shows.

Displacer beasts look like enormous panthers, but their barbed tentacles and illusions make them far deadlier. They quietly stalk their prey before bringing it down as quickly as possible in an ambush. The displacer beast's cunning, stealth, and ferocity have earned it a reputation as one of the most well-known predators of the Feywild. The creature's image is used in heraldry and literature to indicate a character or an organization that is elusive, tricky, or mysterious.

A surprise attack by a displacer beast means a quick death for most. The beast's speed is so great, and its attacks so fierce, that it can swiftly drop anyone who is not prepared and trained for battle. Join us, as we delve deeper into getting the most out of your Displacer Beasts in combat.

West March RPG Campaigns Oct 06, 2021

What is a West Marches Dungeons & Dragons game? For this episode we delve into a fantastic article written by Ars Ludi the Grand Experiment.

West Marches was designed to be pretty much the diametric opposite of the normal weekly game:

There was no regular time: every session was scheduled by the players on the fly.

There was no regular party: each game had different players drawn from a pool of around 10-14 people.

There was no regular plot: The players decided where to go and what to do. It was a sandbox game in the sense that's now used to describe video games like Grand Theft Auto, minus the missions. There was no mysterious old man sending them on quests. No overarching plot, just an overarching environment.
