Hoosier Weekend Preview with Kamady Rudd: Road Trip, National Champs Pressure & IU Football Culture Oct 09, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana football is in Lincoln for a major road test against Nebraska, and Galen Clavio is joined by Kamady Rudd for a lighter CrimsonCast look at what it feels like to be the defending national champions — and how much the culture around IU football has changed.

Galen shares impressions from Indiana’s trip to Rutgers and the very different atmosphere surrounding Nebraska football. The conversation turns to the pressure that comes with being the team everyone wants to beat, why Northwestern’s close game with IU may look different in hindsight, and how the transfer portal and NIL era have made early-season judgments harder than ever.

They also talk about Nebraska volleyball, the significance of Tyrese Haliburton showing up at an IU volleyball match, and Indiana Athletics becoming increasingly connected to broader pop culture and campus life.

Plus: SEC-style tailgate fashion, sorority social media, a callback to Purdue’s infamous comments about Indiana — and another CrimsonCast Dog of the Week.

Indiana vs Nebraska Preview: Advanced Stats, Anthony Colandrea & IU’s Defensive Test Oct 09, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana football takes its 5-0 record to Nebraska, and this CrimsonCast preview digs into the statistical matchup, the Cornhuskers’ biggest threats and the areas that could decide IU’s toughest road test of the season.

Galen Clavio starts by comparing Indiana’s first five games of 2026 with last season’s championship team. Despite some early criticism, the numbers tell a much more encouraging story: IU is generating explosive plays at a higher rate, limiting them defensively at almost the same pace as last year, and its sack production is nearly identical. The biggest statistical difference has been turnovers — and even there, Indiana has compensated by repeatedly stopping opponents on fourth down.

Then it’s on to Nebraska. Anthony Colandrea’s mobility and Kwazi Gilmer’s big-play ability provide legitimate challenges, but Indiana may have advantages with Josh Hoover, Turbo Richard, Lee Beebe Jr., Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh against the Cornhuskers’ defense.

Plus: the importance of Indiana’s pressure packages, a potentially hostile Lincoln environment, and how strong winds could dramatically affect both passing and kicking games.

Hoosier Network Weekly Rundown: Indiana vs Nebraska Preview --- Can IU Stop Anthony Colandrea? Oct 08, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana football heads to Lincoln for a matchup of 5-0 teams, and Galen Clavio is joined by Andrew Garrison and Brooks White from the Hoosier Network to break down what could be IU’s biggest test of the season so far.

The group starts with what stood out in Indiana’s 47-15 win at Rutgers: Turbo Richard’s explosive rushing, Josh Hoover finally connecting consistently downfield, and a defensive front that appears to be hitting its stride.

Then the focus shifts to Nebraska and quarterback Anthony Colandrea. His mobility creates a fascinating challenge for an Indiana defense that has occasionally struggled to finish plays against running quarterbacks. The question is whether Nebraska has enough around Colandrea to consistently stress IU — especially if the Hoosiers can contain him in the pocket and limit his connection with Kwazi Gilmer.

On the other side, Indiana’s offense may present an even bigger problem for Nebraska. Hoover looked increasingly comfortable against Rutgers, while Richard, Charlie Becker, Nick Marsh and the rest of IU’s skill talent continue to give defenses multiple problems at once.

Indiana-Nebraska Football, Darius Wabbington, IU Soccer & No. 1 Nebraska Volleyball Oct 07, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana Athletics is entering one of its busiest stretches of the year, and this Bison Briefing covers the biggest stories across football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and more.

The headline weekend starts with Indiana football traveling to Nebraska for its toughest road environment of the season so far. Galen Clavio looks at the Cornhuskers, Indiana’s pass defense, the challenge of containing a mobile quarterback and why IU may still be holding back parts of its defensive package before Nebraska and Ohio State.

There’s also major recruiting news for both basketball programs. Darius Wabbington gives Darian DeVries and Indiana men’s basketball a five-star centerpiece for the 2027 class, while Teri Moren’s women’s program has assembled an impressive group of its own.

Elsewhere, No. 2 Indiana men’s soccer keeps rolling after wins over Maryland and Kentucky, and IU volleyball gets a sold-out home opportunity against No. 1 Nebraska before hosting USC.

Curt Cignetti Broke College Football Recruiting: Indiana’s Blue-Chip Ratio Defies History Oct 07, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana football won a national championship with a roster that, by traditional recruiting logic, should not have been anywhere close to the title. Galen Clavio and Mike Wiemuth dig into the numbers behind Curt Cignetti’s extraordinary ability to identify and develop overlooked talent — and why Indiana’s success may represent a genuine break from the way college football has historically worked.

The centerpiece is the Blue-Chip Ratio. Recent national champions typically built rosters with more than half their players coming from four- and five-star recruits. Indiana’s championship team was at just 8%. Mike then compares Cignetti’s results with NFL draft probabilities and finds an even more remarkable pattern: at James Madison, his lower-rated recruits produced NFL Draft picks at nearly 10 times the expected rate.

Galen and Mike compare that performance with coaches such as Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney, James Franklin and Matt Rhule, then explore the possible explanations: elite scouting, player evaluation, mentality, development, the transfer portal and Cignetti’s unusual career path.

Is Indiana discovering a new Moneyball model for college football — or is Cignetti simply impossible to replicate?

Darius Wabbington Commits to Indiana: 5-Star Center Gives IU Basketball a Huge Win Oct 06, 2026
    Show notes

Darius Wabbington is an Indiana Hoosier. The five-star 2027 center has committed to Indiana basketball, giving Darian DeVries one of his biggest recruiting wins yet and adding another major piece to IU’s rapidly developing 2027 class.

Galen Clavio is joined by Brian Tonsoni, Ryan Phillips and Mike Wiemuth for an emergency podcast breaking down Wabbington’s commitment, his skill set and why his game fits what DeVries is trying to build. The 6-foot-11 center brings unusual passing and ball-handling ability, developing three-point range, physical size and the versatility to operate both inside and away from the basket.

The crew also looks at Indiana’s 2027 class alongside Chase Branham and Felix Kiehlneker, Wabbington’s NBA potential, how he could be used in DeVries’ offense, and what beating Arizona and Illinois for an elite national recruit says about IU’s recruiting trajectory.

Plus: why Indiana’s roster construction looks increasingly intentional — and how this commitment compares with the program’s history of landing five-star prospects.

    Indiana-Rutgers Recap: 47-15, Turbo Richard’s 204 Yards, Josh Hoover’s Efficiency & a Look Ahead to Nebraska Oct 04, 2026
    Show notes

Galen Clavio recaps Indiana’s dominant 47-15 road win over Rutgers, a performance that moves the Hoosiers to 5-0 and restores plenty of confidence after the tighter Northwestern game.

Turbo Richard rushed for 204 yards, Josh Hoover was efficient and turnover-free, and Nick Marsh and Charlie Becker both went over 100 receiving yards. Galen breaks down why Indiana’s combination of backs, receivers and offensive-line play is becoming such a difficult matchup.

The defense continued to shut down opposing rushing attacks, while the episode also examines Indiana’s pass rush, the advanced statistical trends from the last three games and the remarkable fact that IU finished the night without a penalty.

Plus: Recite the Drives, special-teams concerns, a deeper look at the running back room and an early preview of what should be a much more revealing test against Nebraska.

Indiana vs Rutgers Preview: Advanced Stats, Indiana's Need For Consistency, KJ Duff & IU’s 20-Game Streak Oct 02, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana football takes its 20-game winning streak on the road to Rutgers, and this matchup offers the Hoosiers a chance to answer some of the questions that lingered after Northwestern. Galen Clavio breaks down Indiana’s first road game of 2026, the advanced numbers, Rutgers’ strengths and weaknesses, and the areas IU most needs to sharpen.

The episode compares Indiana’s first four games of 2025 and 2026, showing that this year’s team is much closer statistically to last season’s national champions than the eye test may suggest. The biggest differences are third-down efficiency, sack rate and some passing-defense issues — while Indiana has actually been more explosive offensively and stronger against the run.

Then it’s a full Rutgers scouting report. KJ Duff presents a major challenge for the IU secondary, while Indiana’s offense should have opportunities against a struggling Scarlet Knights defense. Galen also discusses Josh Hoover, the red-zone and goal-line offense, the pass rush, A.J. Harris, Turbo Richard, Lee Beebe Jr., Tyler Morris and what Indiana may still be keeping off film before Nebraska and Ohio State.

Indiana Weekend Preview with Kamady Rudd: Lee Beebe Jr. Injury, Road Game & Hoosier Watch Party Oct 02, 2026
    Show notes

Indiana football heads to Rutgers for its first road game of 2026, and Galen Clavio is joined by Kamady Rudd for a lighter CrimsonCast look at the weekend — plus an important late injury update involving Lee Beebe Jr., Turbo Richard and Indiana’s running back room.

Galen opens with the latest availability news. Beebe and Sean Cuono were listed as questionable, Khobie Martin remained out, and Turbo Richard’s status was still worth watching. With Indiana’s depth suddenly being tested at running back, the episode looks at how the Hoosiers could manage carries against Rutgers.

There’s also a quick IU Athletics update after Indiana volleyball pushed No. 6 Wisconsin to five sets and Indiana men’s soccer prepared for a major matchup with Maryland.

Then Kamady joins the show to talk about the nerves that came with Indiana’s close Northwestern win, how quickly Hoosier fans have adjusted to winning, what IU’s first road trip should feel like, and the essentials for an Indiana football watch party — including an extensive and highly important discussion of dips, Doritos and game-day food.

Plus: another CrimsonCast Dog of the Week and Galen’s Rutgers travel plans.
