Founded in 2008, the podcast provides regular discussion about Indiana football, Indiana basketball, and interesting things related to being an IU fan. Ep 856 (take 2) Big Ten Media Deals and IU Football Aug 19, 2022
    Show notes

Scott joins Galen for a rare face-to-face podcast in Bloomington. We dive headlong into the new Big Ten media rights deal, how it will operate in practice with the conference spread across three networks, what the implications are of leaving ESPN behind, and why neither Apple nor Amazon was involved.
We also talk extensively about football, now that we sit two weeks from the start of the season. Continuing our philosophical angle from the last show, we consider where IU's program really is right now, and whether last season was a bellwether, a harbinger, or an anomaly.

Ep 855 - Zach Osterman of the IndyStar Aug 14, 2022
    Show notes

Zach Osterman stops by to talk IU football --- but rather than dive right into an evaluation of the team, we spend most of the podcast discussing the psyche of IU football fans right now. We look at what went wrong last year, what went right the previous four years, how fans should consider thinking and feeling about Tom Allen, and how the program's cyclical nature might be Allen's biggest enemy at this stage.

Ep 854 - Max Parker and Evan Gerike from HN Aug 14, 2022
    Show notes

We continue CrimsonCast's football coverage by welcoming the Hoosier Network's Max Parker and Evan Gerike to the show. They give us their impressions of fall camp thus far, and we talk about the atmosphere and environment around the team and the program going into the middle part of August.
NOTE - the sound quality on this one wasn't great due to a malfunctioning internet connection. Thanks for your patience.

Ep 853 - Thomas from BT Powerhouse Aug 02, 2022
    Show notes

Scott @CrimsonCast317 is joined by Thomas @tbeindit from @BTpowerhouse to chat about B1G expansion, what could be coming next, answer Twitter questions and how the B1G will deal with basketball schedules and the B1G Basketball tournament.

Ep 852 - Indiana Football Preview with Bill Connelly of ESPN Jul 15, 2022
    Show notes

It's mid-July, which means IU football kicks off in less than two months. We start off our podcast coverage of the program by bringing longtime friend of the show Bill Connelly of ESPN to talk about what went wrong for IU last year, the outlook for this upcoming year, and the current state of college football.

Ep 851 - Conference Realignment Listener Questions Jul 05, 2022
    Show notes

The awesome CrimsonCast listener collective had a bunch of questions about conference realignment, so we tried to answer as many of them as we could. We tackled everything from the Pac 12 / Big 12 standoff to the ACC's peculiar situation, to what Notre Dame might do (and at what cost), to how Big Ten basketball schedules might be impacted by expansion.

Ep 850 - A West Coast Perspective with Matt Zimmerman Jul 03, 2022
    Show notes

We've broken down the addition of USC and UCLA from a variety of perspectives, but we haven't talked about the impact of the move on the psyche and mentality of Pac 12 or west coast fans. Fortunately, we have longtime friend of the pod Matt Zimmerman --- a native Angelino and a sports expert --- who was willing to join the show and give his perspective. We talk about USC/UCLA sports culture, recruiting in SoCal, the implications of the Pac 12 becoming a shadow of its former self, and what the next moves might be (or should be) for both the Big Ten and the SEC.

Ep 849 - Conference Realignment Part 3 with Zach Osterman Jul 01, 2022
    Show notes

DoctorGC is joined by the IndyStar's Zach Osterman to talk about the Big Ten's addition of USC and UCLA to the conference, the implications for college sports as a whole, and what might happen next --- both to Indiana athletics and the broader world of college football.

Ep 848 - Welcome to LA with Scott and Galen Jul 01, 2022
    Show notes

The news of the Big Ten growing by two members is always going to be a big story, but the news that the Big Ten has added USC and UCLA to the mix is of an entirely different order. Scott joins Galen on the second CrimsonCast of the day, and this time we do it live, as we discuss the reasons why this move is happening now, what it means for the Big Ten and IU, and what sorts of things might happen next in college sports as a result.

Ep 847 - USC and UCLA Arrive Jul 01, 2022
    Show notes

Galen is joined by longtime contributor Zach to talk about the ridiculous and tantalizing news of the day that USC and UCLA are leaving the Pac 12 and joining the Big Ten starting in 2024-25. We discuss the background of these moves, the butterfly effect that led to the current moment, and what may happen next in college sports as a result.
