Ep 1027 - Michigan State football preview and IU basketball overview Nov 17, 2023
    Show notes

Indiana tries to pick up the pieces from last week's unfortunate loss to Illinois, as the Hoosiers host Michigan State in an Old Brass Spittoon matchup. We discuss IU's overall statistical profile, compare the Hoosiers and Spartans, and look at what Michigan State has been up to this year.
We then talk a bit about IU men's basketball and the odd (and discouraging) start they've had to the season. We talk about some of the positive aspects, including Kel'el Ware's emergence as a dominant post presence and Trey Galloway's evolution. We also delve into Indiana's problematic perimeter defending and their overall defensive philosophy, and talk about whether the early issues might snowball into larger problems for the rest of the season.

Scott and Galen recap the unexpected but eminently welcome victory over the Badgers by looking back at what the keys to success for the team were. We discuss the defense showing up and making plays when it mattered, the cool efficiency of QB Brendan Sorsby, and the surprising decisions down the stretch by both teams. We also discuss the remote possibility of IU getting itself bowl eligible, and what it would take for that to become a reality.

    Ep 1019 - Wisconsin Football Preview Nov 04, 2023
    Show notes

Indiana played much better last week, and despite losing to Penn State 33-24, there were finally some causes for optimism among the fans. Is what we saw sustainable? The Hoosiers will find out this week, as they host a Wisconsin team that hasn't exactly looked like a group of world-beaters. We discuss the lessons learned from last week, where Wisconsin may be vulnerable, and the three keys for Indiana going into Saturday's game.
