People often ask how do I stay so positive and upbeat. My answer? I don't. I have my days where I feel the opposite of upbeat and positive. Most people do. But, the majority of my days I feel great. I feel positive and optimistic for my future. And SO SHOULD YOU. Why? Because what is the alternative? Staying pissed off and negative? That is NO WAY to live your life and you have so much to be grateful for.

Remember you are in the place in your life because of your actions and YOUR THOUGHTS. Believe it or not, you are exactly where you need to be.

You can't control some things in your life, but you can control how you REACT to situations and events. You can control YOUR FEELINGS and YOU CAN control your thoughts.

Start feeling more positive. Everything always works out for the best. Go out and conquer your day and week.

So many people think they tarnished. That they are defined by the mistakes they have made in their life. Whether it be financial, career or relationships, we all make mistakes. Mistakes are a part of life. However, you are not defined by your past. Don't let your past control your future.

Things in your life can get better and they will get better, but you have to belief that they will. You have to know that they will. You are a powerful magnet. You are bringing things into your life, good or bad, due to your thoughts. Thoughts become things.

The Law of Attraction is real. I didn't used to believe in that, but I do now. I believe because this law has worked and continues to work in my life. It can for you too.

Remember you have so many talents and good to give back to the world. Let the past live in the past. Start controlling your future. You have the power. You always have.

A Coloradan, a Public Servant, a Fire Chief, a High-Energy Fireball, and a Trail Blazer are a few ways people know my next guest, Brita Horn. She has dedicated her life to public service in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 when she noticed a need in her local community for emergency responders. She responded to the call by creating a nonprofit fire department with her friends and neighbors in McCoy, CO which has served the community for the last 18 years. Brita currently serves as the Fire Chief for the department.

Brita’s service does not stop there. She currently serves Coloradans as the Treasurer for the Colorado State Fire Chiefs (CSFC) and the Eagle County Fire Chiefs Association. Also, as the Volunteer Section Chief for CSFC and was elected to the Club 20 Board of Directors.

Now if that isn’t enough to impress you, she is also a Best-Selling Author of Drinking from a Fire House – 5 Essential Tools To Not Get Soaked. A must read for any first responders.

Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast: Microcast Monday - Focus On These Areas of Your Life Going into 2021 Dec 28, 2020
    Show notes

Hello everyone and welcome back to Microcast Monday. A short burst of motivation and inspiration to get you started on your new week. Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. Thank you for what you do. Remember you are honored cherished and you are loved.

This is the last Microcast Monday before we head into the new year and I want to thank EVERYONE for making this podcast the success it is. Because of YOU we are a TOP Ranked Criminal Justice Podcast.

As you head into the new year, you need to focus on YOU. Then you need to focus on the following FIVE things that have to do with YOU.

    1) Health - Your body runs it all - If you aren't healthy or you constantly feel thoughts of being unhealthy, EVERYTHING else will suffer.

    2) Your Mind - Mindset is key. Remember you are a MAGNET. Like attracts Like. If you are constantly thinking about the things you don't want in your life - guess what? You will get what you don't want.

    3) Family and Friends - Why didn't I put this first? Because if you don't have yourself in a good place how can you be good for your family and friends. I am not trying to imply that family and friends are not important, because they obviously are. However, you need to take care of yourself FIRST.

    4) Finances - Money isn't everything, but it is important in our lives. If your finances are a mess then it will no doubt contribute to your stress and worry going into the new year. Make getting your finances in order a priority in your life.

    5) Work - Not that work isn't important, but if you are not taking care of yourself then your work will suffer. I speak from experience. And, if you hate your job, a lot of people do, then it's time to make a change. There are plenty of opportunities out there.

There are more we can put on this list, but I think these are important for you to get you started in 2021. They will be the foundation of your success.

Remember that you can do anything you want in your life. Reach out to me, I would love to hear from you.

Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast: Microcast Monday - Fill Your Cup Up First Dec 21, 2020
    Show notes

Hello everyone and welcome back to Microcast Monday. These short shows are designed to set you on the right direction for your day and week.

Thank you for tuning into the Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast. We know you have many options but thank you for spending some of your valuable time with us. That is why we continue to grow and why we are a top ranked show. It you haven’t subscribed to the show, please do. Also, please take a moment and give us that 5-Star rating and review on Apple Podcasts.

Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. Thank you for what you do, especially in these difficult times. Remember you are honored, cherished and above all you are loved.

We are are so honored to be partnered with a great company liked Detectachem. Detectachem is helping keep our brave men and women safer by offering mobile threat detection that fits in the palm of your hand. Detecting illicit drugs, explosives and now COVID-19. This application-based technology is a MUST have for your organization. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com

    Take care of yourself first.

Imagine you are a cup. The resources you earn each day is water. The energy, time, and resources you give to others are holes in the bottom of your cup.

A cup that is losing water is a life filled with desperation, anxiety, and stress. But when your cup is gaining water you are happier, hopeful, and excited.

If you give more each day than you get, your life will get worse and worse.

Fill. Your. Cup. First. (Garrett Petticrew)

How do you fill your cup first? Start by building your foundation. Your foundation consists of the following:

    • Body and Mind – Exercise and meditate. Remember your body is the only one you will get. Take care of it. It’s your temple. Your body and mind control it all. Meditate. I love meditation. If you would have told me about it a couple years ago, I probably would have laughed at you. I don’t laugh anymore because it has worked for me and it will work for you.
    • Sleep – Believe it or not you need it. Stop thinking you are fine with 4-5 hours a sleep. You aren’t. Deep down you know it. You are just in that cycle. I know because I was once there. Your body needs to re-charge and regenerate. It accomplishes this with much needed sleep. You should be getting 7-8 hours of sleep. And, if you are working Graveyards you can still get the sleep you need. You just need to make it a priority.
    • Food – Food is the energy your body needs to operate at your peak. We all know what is good and bad for us, but many of us choose the bad. Start eating better NOW. Your body and mind will thank you.

Remember – FILL YOUR CUP FIRST
