EP155: The Brutal Murder of Cherish Perrywinkle Oct 03, 2022
    Show notes

A BIG "THANK YOU" TO PATREON SARAH and DANIELLE B!
Eight-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle was out shopping with her mother, Rayne, on June 21, 2013, near Jacksonville, Florida. Rayne was struggling financially when she thought she had been blessed by a kind stranger, especially when that stranger told her that he and his wife had a $100 gift card for Walmart to give to her and he wanted her to buy whatever she needed. The kind stranger was Donald James Smith--who wasn't kind at all. He was a lifelong child predator, who fell through the cracks in the Florida prison system. A month prior, Donald was still in prison, but on that fateful day in June, he was out preying on another unsuspecting child. As the evening wore on, Cherish and her two little sisters grew hungry, and Donald offered to buy them cheeseburgers at the McDonald's that was inside Walmart. Donald and Cherish went to get the cheeseburgers, but instead, Donald led Cherish out of the store and she was never seen alive again. Listen to this week's episode to hear the story that even the medical examiner who performed Cherish's autopsy had to take a break from during her testimony in Donald's trial.

An exorcism was performed on him overnight which allegedly cast out 40 demons. By the early morning hours, only three demons were left: insanity, murder, and violence. Those who performed the exorcism were too tired to cast out the remaining evil spirits and sent Michael home. Two hours later, he was arrested for the barbaric murder of his wife.

SHOUT OUT TO PATREON MEMBER EMILY R. FOR THIS CASE SUGGESTION!
For nearly a decade, a serial killer was terrorizing the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area starting in 1994. Actually, at the time the serial killer this episode is about was active, there were at least four other serial killers active in the State of Louisiana. Today’s story is about Sean Vincent Gillis, who made zip ties his favorite means to kill. In addition to killing his victims, Sean enjoyed mutilating, dismembering, cannibalizing, and also practicing necrophilia on them. This one is high on the gruesome scale so buckle up!

In June of 1969, the Robison family went to their cabin in Good Hart, Michigan, where they planned to spend their summer. Towards the end of July, a putrid smell overwhelmed the Blisswood cabin community. The smell was traced to the Robison's cabin - where police discovered the rotting corpses of all six members of the family. Someone had murdered them 27 days earlier, turned on the furnace, closed the drapes, locked the doors, and left a note on the window. Listen to the strange and bizarre details of this story to learn the truth of the Robison's family slaughter. FOR SOME REASON I CALLED THEM THE "ROBINSONS" THROUGHOUT THIS EPISODE! On June 30, 2009, four people were found, drowned, in a car in the Kingston Mills Locks in Ontario, Canada. What first appeared to be a very tragic car accident, eventually was revealed to be one of the most terrible betrayals a parent can do to his child. Mohammed Shafia was a successful millionaire living in Quebec, Canada with his wife, their seven children, and his cousin. Mohammed had immigrated to Canada from Afghanistan and instead of assimilating into Canadian life, he continued to practice his Afghan traditions, including what happened when he believed his daughters dishonored his family.
