Donna Adelson, accused mastermind in the shooting death of her former son-in-law, Dan Markel, was arrested at Miami International Airport in an alleged attempt to flee to a non-extradition country. Investigators believe Adelson had Markel killed after a failed push by ex-wife Wendi to move their children to South Florida, closer to her family.
Donna Adelson is the fifth person charged in the murder-for-hire plot of her former son-in-law, a Florida State University Law Professor and well-known throughout Tallahassee. The first person brought to justice Luis Rivera, agreed to a plea deal. Rivera testifies he and his lifelong friend, Sigfredo Garcia, drove from Miami to Tallahassee to carry out the hit and Garcia was the triggerman. Rivera, once a Latin Kings gang leader, accepted a 19-year prison sentence in exchange for flipping on his close friend.
This week, in Donna Adelson's trial, some of the most dynamic pieces of evidence is the money changing hands and the wiretaps. Mary Hull, from Florida Department of Financial Services, breaks down financial records before and after the murder of Dan Markel. Rivera admits on the stand he received over $33,000 for the hit. Also, the jury hears the feds wiretaps, Charlie and Donna Adelson talk in code and the bump which was orchestrated to trap the co-conspirators into a phone frenzy.

1:30 am, August 23, 2025, surveillance footage shows Dacara Thompson parking her car in Hyattsville. A person who father believes is Dacara is seen walking away from the car, which is facing the wrong way and in is front of a fire hydrant. As she walks away, she uses the key fob to lock the doors as the lights on the car blink. Dacara appears to be alone, nobody is seen walking with or near her as she walks out of frame. That's the last time Dacara was seen.
Now a bombshell arrest in the case after police discover more surveillance footage. According to PGPD, Thompson is seen approaching a black SUV in the early morning hours of Aug. 23. After speaking to the driver, Thompson enters the SUV. The driver then goes to a home in Bowie. Hugo Hernandez-Mendez, of Bowie, Md., arrested on charges of first- and second-degree murder.

The so-called "missing minute" from the security camera video of the jail tier where sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein died has been found and made public. This as new New Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell survivors speak out. The survivors say they are compiling their own list of Epstein's associates, forming their own black book to distribute to the public, even as they call for lawmakers to release more files. On Tuesday evening, 33,000 pages and several videos were made public by the House of Representatives Oversight Committee, which had subpoenaed the DOJ. Two members of the House, Republican Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Democrat Ro Khanna of California, are trying to force a vote on compelling the DOJ to release all documents.
Speaking at an event in Washington DC, the survivors called for the release of all Epstein files as victims describe the 'disturbing world' of Jeffrey Epstein. Annie Farmer, now 46, says she was taken to New Mexico at 16 and her sister reported the abuse, but nothing was done. During the presser, victims stood in front of a sign that read: "Epstein Files Transparency Act," the name of a bill that some lawmakers want to pass in Congress.

Bryan Kohberger attended Washington State University for a little over three months, and in that time, 13 complaints were filed about his bad behavior.
The complaints related to the nature of being homophobic, ableist, xenophobic, and misogynistic. Kohberger was just days into his first semester of the doctoral program when administrators received their first formal complaint; 12 more came over the next three months, according to newly unsealed documents. Included in the release are photos of the apartment Kohberger left behind in Pullman. The photos are filled with textbooks, graded papers, and a refrigerator partially full of food.
The families of Madison Mogen and Ethan Chapin are suing the city of Moscow over the
release of hundreds of these crime scene photos and videos of the first response to 1122 King Road.
Their attorney claims many of the photos constitute an “unwarranted invasion of privacy.”

Jamie Brock and Kristin Brock share a blended family, each having children from other relationships. Kristin's 16-year-old daughter, Sarah Grace Patrick, is living in the home as Jamie and Kristin welcome their own little girl.
Through all their happiness, the Brocks have a dark cloud hanging over their heads. Jamie Brock, known for his big heart full of love, also happens to have a weak heart and needs a transplant soon if he wants to see his children grow up.
From the outside, it appears the Brocks have a well-balanced family and for the most part avoided the drama associated with having a teenage daughter. 16-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick seems like a smart, sweet, typical teenage girl.
But Jamie Brock, during several conversations, expresses her concerns, saying Sarah is not who she appears to present herself to the public to be when behind closed doors at home.
On the morning of Thursday, February 20, the couple's five-year-old daughter goes to her parents' bedroom to wake them up.
Not understanding what she sees, the child runs to her older sister, 16-year-old Sarah Grace, who immediately calls 911. The 5-year-old has discovered her mother and father dead in their bed, their bodies riddled with bullets. On the phone with 911, Sarah Grace tells the dispatcher the bodies are cold to the touch.
As weeks turn into months with no arrest in the murders, Kristin's now 17-year-old daughter, Sarah Grace Patrick, is taking to TikTok regularly, sharing emotional messages, urging influencers to draw attention to what is now an unsolved double homicide, and engaging with true crime creators in an effort to get them to cover the story.
The odd grab for attention is not lost on family members, who now see many things Sarah Grace has done as "red flags."
