A South Carolina jury convicted Nathaniel Rowland of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 21-year-old University of South Carolina student, Samantha Josephson. Police say security footage showed Josephson getting into a black Chevrolet Impala that pulled up to the Bird Dog bar parking lot at around 2 a.m. Josephson was waiting on an Uber ride, according to police, and mistook the Impala driver as the Uber driver. Forensics expert Joe Scott Morgan, professor at Jacksonville State University, breaks down the evidence.

Lisa Marie Nowak seemed to have it all. She was an American aeronautical engineer, a former United States Navy captain, naval flight officer and, test pilot Nowak was selected by NASA to be aboard Space Shuttle Discovery. She was also a wife, mother, and mistress. Nowak had an affair with colleague William Oefelein in 2004. Oefelein, ultimately, divorced and Nowak separated from her husband.
Oefelein, however, met someone new, Air Force Captain Colleen Shipman, and the trail toward a murder plot begins. Nowak devises a plan and embarks on a 900-mile car trip, taking with her what's described as a kill kit. Investigators find hundreds of dollars in cash, mase, a knife, rubber tubing, gloves, a BB gun, a mallet, a CD containing images of bondage scenes, and diapers.

More than two dozen women have come forward to say that accused killer Paul Flores “either raped, drugged, stalked, or peeping tommed them.” None of those allegations will be presented when Flores goes on trial for the death of Kristin Smart, however, as a judge said the evidence for those cases is “too thin.”
A recent search found “a homemade CD he made of himself having sex with women going in and out of consciousness. There is also a Google search for “real drunken girl drugged and raped while passed out.” Paul Flores, 44, is the prime suspect in the disappearance and presumed death of 19-year-old Smart in 1996 when both were students at California State Polytechnic University.
Flores and his father, Ruben Flores, were arrested in April after investigators searched their homes. Investigators said they found traces of human blood on a patch of soil that had been disturbed underneath Ruben Flores’ house, surrounded by a lattice. A tenant at the property told authorities Ruben Flores always kept the area locked with a padlock. Smart’s parents have filed a lawsuit against Flores’s mother and her boyfriend, alleging that they helped move their daughter’s body.

Sentencing for the man convicted of killing University of Iowa student, Mollie Tibbetts, has been delayed amid new information. Judge Joel Yates ordered Cristhian Rivera’s sentencing be delayed after two witnesses told investigators that a different man confessed to the crime. According to Bahena Rivera’s attorneys, an inmate at the county jail said in May that he heard someone identified as “inmate 2” admit that Tibbetts was “bound and gagged in a trap house but that he was directed to kill Tibbetts once the search for her got too close.” Inmate 2 allegedly said he was ordered to stab Tibbetts, who was initially kidnapped for sex trafficking, but killed after the case became too high-profile. Inmate 2 allegedly said he was ordered to hide the body near a Hispanic male in Tibbetts’ area, to pin the blame on someone else. The witness said he came forward after he heard Rivera testify during the trial that two other men killed Tibbetts and put the blame on him. Forensic expert, Joe Scott Morgan, Professor at Jacksonville State University weighs in on whether the evidence can support that claim.

37-year-old Ericka Weems was found dead, alone inside her home on November 2. An autopsy report ruled her death a homicide, caused by a gunshot wound to the head. Weems was shot 3 times. Weems was the sister of Cleveland Cavaliers Director of Scouting, Brandon Weems, and a family friend to basketball great Lebron James. The Cleveland Cavaliers are offering $10,000 in addition to $5,000 from Crime Stoppers for information in the as yet unsolved death.
