GIRL, 11, DEAD IN BATHROOM STALL, MOM WANTS ANSWERS Apr 05, 2023
    Show notes

Felicia LoAlbo-Melendez, 11, was being bullied in school. On top of this, she had just lost her father to pancreatic cancer.

By all appearances, the little girl was handling it all as best she could. Felicia told her mother, teacher, and the school administrator about the bullying that she and other students were subjected to. In fact, she wrote emails suggesting solutions to the school, like a "Trauma Club" where bullied kids would have a safe place to what was going on.

    No one replied.

Felicia then reminded the adults that there were laws in place to protect the children and that the school was "breaking the laws" by not taking action.

Felicia LoAlbo-Melendez was found by another student in a bathroom stall. Her death was ruled a suicide.

Stephen Smith Body Exhumed, Investigation Starts Again Apr 04, 2023
    Show notes

The body of Stephen Smith has been exhumed. Smith's death was initially investigated as a hit-and-run but investigators say the evidence did not support that as a cause of death. Smith's body was discovered on a rural road in Hampton county back in 2015. Now that a new autopsy has been done, the investigation is just beginning. Nancy Grace speaks with Criminal Defense Attorney and former FBI agent Dale Carson about what will happen next and how police will uncover what happened over eight years ago on a desolate stretch of road.

The body of Stephen Smith has been exhumed, autopsied and reinterred. A SLED security team accompanied the body to a location in Florida where the examination took place. Information on the new autopsy has not be released yet.

Meanwhile, news of two possible persons of interest has come to light. Investigation into those leads are continuing.

Stephen Smith's body was discovered on a rural road in Hampton county back in 2015. Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan: The Unexplained Death of Stephen Smith Apr 02, 2023
    Show notes

Stephen Smith died mysteriously in 2015 in South Carolina.

Though his death was initially ruled a hit-and-run, it has more recently gained attention following the 2021 murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh, which lead to the reopening of his case two years ago. The Murdaugh family was mentioned in the initial investigation, but no charges were filed.

Smith was found dead with a large gash on his forehead, a partially dislocated shoulder, and cuts and bruises on his hand. Authorities initially thought Smith had been shot, but no bullet or fragments were found. In March 2023, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) officially ruled Smith's death as a homicide.

In this episode of Body Bags, forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan and reporter Dave Mack discuss what types of injuries one sustains when hit by a vehicle, why Joe and Dave think the perpetrator was likely a local, exhumation, mirror strikes, and more.

PLEA DEAL: 13-Year-Old Cheerleader Stabbed Dead, Classmate Sentenced LIFE IN PRISON Apr 01, 2023
    Show notes

A judge sentenced Aiden Fucci, now 16, to life in prison after his conviction of first-degree murder for stabbing a 13-year-old girl over 100 times. Fucci entered his guilty plea earlier this year.

During the investigation surveillance photos show the mother of teen murder suspect Aiden Fucci washing his clothes the day Tristyn Bailey was murdered. Crystal Smith was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the 14-year-old's death. The former classmates had grown up in the same neighborhood but it does not appear that Fucci targeted Bailey specifically, though friends later said Fucci claimed he would kill someone in the near future. Surveillance video appears to show the pair walking together early the morning of May 9. Fucci is later seen running, alone, from the same area.
