SHOCK DISCOVERY: MISSING BABY MIYA, 8 MONTHS, FOUND WRAPPED IN PLASTIC IN KENTUCKY HOME Jul 10, 2024
    Show notes

Miya Rudd is born in October 2023 to parents Tesla Tucker, 29, and Cage Rudd, 30.

Routine tests show that Miya’s umbilical cord has traces of methamphetamine in it--grounds for removal from her parents’ care. By the time Kentucky’s Social Services made arrangements for Miya to be placed with her 3 older siblings, Tucker and Rudd left the hospital with the baby. For the next six months, the family bounces from home to home, avoiding contact from social services.

In late May, a family member realizes they have not seen baby Miya Rudd in nearly a month. The family member contacts law enforcement, reporting they last saw Miya in April. Social services cannot locate the family, so Kentucky State Police Troopers are sent to perform a welfare check. On June 6, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd are tracked down to an Owensboro Super 8 motel.

Inside Tucker and Rudd’s hotel room, Kentucky State police find large amounts of crystal meth, and what is believed to be fentanyl, but no sign of baby Miya Rudd. Placed under arrest for drug violations, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd insist that social services removed Miya from their care on May 1st, but social services has no record of a pickup.

The parents suggest Miya may be with her maternal grandparents, who also has custody of her three older siblings, but do not cooperate further with the investigation.

Kentucky State Police head to parents’ Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd’s last known address in nearby Reynold’s Station, hopeful they will locate Miya Rudd there. Conditions inside the home are deplorable. The home is filthy, and troopers uncover more meth and fentanyl.

Cage Rudd’s father, Ricky Smith, is believed to be operating a drug trafficking scheme out of the home, and is arrested on several drug and weapons charges. There is zero indication that Miya Rudd is living in the Deanfield Church Road home.

With all of Miya Rudd’s direct family members ruled out as having the infant in their care, police turn to a physical search near her parents’ home. While a team cleans the home’s interior of drug residue to protect searchers, cadaver dogs comb through the surrounding woods and several debris-filled ditches. The dogs’ behavior leads investigators to believe they have reason to continue searching nearby. When Rudd’s home is finally safe for investigators and K9s to enter,

Kentucky State Police thoroughly search the building, picking through trash and debris. Under a pile of trash, cops make a grim discovery. An infants’ decomposing body is found wrapped in plastic bags and a blanket. The remains are confirmed to be those of Miya Rudd.

SHOCK: HUBBY'S BRUTAL ASSAULT CHARGES DROPPED, MOM NIKKI MISSING Jul 08, 2024
    Show notes

A fire at the home of missing mom of four Nikki Saelee McCain brings out law enforcement, the media and the Shasta County Fire Department.

The Redding PD, Shasta County Sheriff's, and Cal-Fire L. E. all witness the growing blaze and multiple officers spotted walking the property while it was still on fire. Firefighters create a fire line to stop the fire from spreading to nearby homes, but several vehicles on the property appear to be completely burned.

Nikki’s husband, Tyler McCain, says he is cited by Cal-Fire for the blaze on his property. Cal-Fire says the fire was sparked by a failed catalytic converter that expelled hot fragments into dry vegetation. Tyler McCain says he attempted to extinguish the fire, but it spreads so quickly, he calls for help. Cal-Fire says the owner is cited for negligently causing a fire and burning another's land.

In the meantime, the imminent domestic Violence case against Tyler McCain now dismissed. Why? Because Nikki Saelee McCain, the alleged victim and states only witness, is still mysteriously missing. Without Nikki, there is not enough evidence to go forward.

The DA’s office reserves all rights to refile the case in the future. Nikki's sister says Tyler McCain is escorted into court by police through a back door and once charges are dismissed, he leaves through the back door and directly into a police van.

SUSPECT IN BLUDGEON DEATH OF TEEN BOY AT HALLOWEEN PARTY ARRESTED AGAIN? Jul 06, 2024
    Show notes

As a Halloween party in an upscale neighborhood gets out of hand, neighbors call 911 saying there are too many cars and drunk teens in the neighborhood.

As Preston Lord and his friends leave the party, one of Lord's friends has a necklace stolen by another group of teens. A fight breaks out when Lord tries to get the necklace back. He is beaten by a group of teens who knock Lord unconscious and kick him while he’s on the ground. Witnesses recount seeing the attackers “hump” Lord and someone in a white suit returning to stomp on Preston Lord, still unconscious in the middle of the street.

As Preston Lord lays unconscious on the pavement, friends determine his heart has stopped and other partygoers perform CPR until police arrive and take over. Lord is taken by ambulance to Chandler Regional Hospital, then transferred to Phoenix Children's in extremely critical condition with a severe brain injury. Preston Lord succumbs to his injuries.

For those involved, Lord’s death is fodder for social media, some trying to figure out how to cash in on the reward money offered for information about what happened.

The suspects discuss the fight over Snapchat, with one of the messages reading, "My mom wants in on the $10K.”

These messages are some of the first real clues police begin to follow. A tipster notifies police that Talan Renner admitted to a friend that he threw the first punch, and Owen Hines told a friend “he only kicked him in the stomach.”

Nearly all the witnesses point out Treston Billey and Dominic Turner as aggressors due to their distinct costumes that night. Turner wore all black, while Billey donned a white suit.

Using the suspects' digital media, investigators find Taylor Sherman, who admits to taking a video of Preston as he is unconscious on the ground and sending it out on Snapchat. Talyn Vigil also sent a message reading, “I hit a kid and this kid fell, hit his head. Then they kicked his head in the ground, then I got word he died so idk.”

The day Preston Lord passes away, Talan Renner’s millionaire father, Travis Renner, goes to work trying to cover up the teen’s involvement. Renner and his business partner allegedly hand out NDAs and push a story that despite Talan Renner having thrown the first punch,

Talyn Vigil was truly to blame for Lord’s death. Renner tells the school his son is being bullied, and whisks Talan away to his $800,000 golf club cabin in Show Low, Arizona for a week while Talan’s hands heal from the fight.

Meanwhile, Talan Renner brags to friends on Snapchat, “I got in a fight, a big group fight, and I accidentally killed a kid. I guess I’m just too strong.”

    Show notes

Two family grapple with individuals who claim to be long-lost missing children.

A woman comes forward claiming to be Cherrie Ann Mahan. The little girl was just an 8-year-old when she went missing, after getting off her school bus, just feet away from her home. A blue or green van is the only clue.

Six-year-old Timmothy James Pitzen was dropped off at school by his father James. Not long after, he was picked up after by his mother, Amy Fry-Pitzen, who took the boy on a three-day trip to amusement parks in their region. Fry-Pitzen's body was found in a motel room. The mom had committed suicide, leaving a note says Timmothy was safe, but his father would never see him again.

Who would claim to be a missing child?
