Latest Episodes:

Mitch stares into the distance. — Episode 43 – Hurricane Part 2 Sep 16, 2015
Show notes

Mitch chooses to hate you now, but we don’t! At least not ’til the end of the show.

We rolled another repeat, but it’s definitely our favorite repeat. A hurricane is blowing into Capeside, and everything is upside down. First of all, we had many technical difficulties. None in the sound, all in the DVD playback. So if you are watching along you’re gonna have a rough time. However after listening we determined that our incompetence was funny enough to roll with, we hope. I’m glad we stuck with it, because we really enjoyed rewatching this episode. We heap praise on James Van Der Beek, John Wesley Shipp, and Mary Margaret Humes (that’s a lot of names for 3 people), and basically just enjoy the show. Hurricane is welcome on our podcast anytime!

Grams in the mirror — Episode 42 – Psychic Friends Revisited Sep 09, 2015
Show notes

Stone. Cold. Killer.

This is our second jaunt through the Psychic Friends episode, and this time we go a little bit deeper. Quick recap: Dawson’s making a bad movie and trying to impress his smokin’ hot teacher. Joey and Jack are friends (not lovers) and Joey is trying to suck some face. Pacey and Andie are being their awesome selves, and Jen is, once again, trying to get her grandmother laid, a weirdly recurring theme. Most importantly, there is a psychic on the loose and she’s causing all sorts of problems with the kids. Your hosts are starving for some new content, but we are determined to mine the depths of these previously watched episodes for every drop of goodness we can squeeze out of them. I think I mixed my metaphors. You get it.

Joey witnessing Dawson & Jen in bed — Episode 41 – Decisions Part II Sep 02, 2015
Show notes

Joey is either witnessing Dawson & Jen in bed together, or about to get hit by a truck on the highway.

This week we are revisiting the finale episode of the first wonderful season of Dawson’s Creek. The end of the beginning. The begending. Joey might be going to Paris, but first she has to visit her dad in prison. Dawson is conflicted and takes her there. Jen’s grandpa is back up then he’s back down :(. And Pacey gets to help Joey out when she needs to head back up to the pen for a followup visit with Daddy. This is a fantastic episode of 90s television that we have playing in the background while we act like absolute idiots and scream obscenities into microphones. Some episodes we are really into the show and provide a heartfelt commentary. Some episodes we are a little punch drunk, perhaps a little actual drunk, and things just go off the rails. This week it’s one of those!

Seth Rogen and Busy Phillips — Episode 40 – Rock Bottom Aug 28, 2015
Show notes

Is he attracted to her or considering eating her face?

Your eyes don’t deceive you, you didn’t accidentally stumble onto FreaksAndGeeksOfTheWeek.com, this is still your devoted Dawson’s Creek podcast commenting on a Dawson’s Creek episode that is chock full of guest stars. Seth Rogen, Jensen Ackles, Oliver Hudson, so much talent we had to rush it out as a bonus episode! Audrey is going to rehab in LA, which is a long way from Boston. Joey and Eddie are gonna take her there, and are inexplicably joined by Seth Rogen, because… just because! Meanwhile Grams is finding herself dumped by her boyfriend, Clifton Smalls, (and “small” he is not!) and on the market for some geriatric trim. Naturally she goes on a double date with her grandaughter. Oh and Dawson is directing a terrible movie.

Pacey and Jack in class. — Episode 39 – To Be or Not to Be Aug 26, 2015
Show notes

The only two characters that matter this episode.

Hello and welcome to the Creek of the Week episode description. This week we have a serious contender for our favorite Dawson’s Creek episode we’ve seen so far. The main storyline involves Jack being forced to read a very personal poem in front of his class, to the mockery of the entire school, and Pacey defending him, as Pacey do. Strangely, the rest of the Creekers don’t seem to have Pacey’s back, and we get to delve into their feelings about Jack’s inner turmoil. This is a socially poignant episode of Dawson’s Creek that really put the show on the map back in the day, and lucky you, you get to experience it with two middle aged morons making fart jokes over the top of it.

Dawson Looks on as Jen vomits — Episode 38 – The Reluctant Hero Aug 19, 2015
Show notes

“Come on Jen, it’s supposed to smell like that!”

On this very special Creek of the Week, we invite our first Guest Host and watch an incredible episode of Dawson’s Creek. Kelly, the self-proclaimed biggest Dawson’s Creek fan in the world, asked to come on, and since we have an open-door policy, we went for it. As for the episode, it’s a great one. Jen is back in her bad-girl phase, and Dawson is keeping an eye on her while she makes some pretty big mistakes. Pacey and Andie are dealing with the horrors of mental illness, and Jack is seducing Joey in a desperate bid to convince himself he likes girls. Everybody is being heroic, including Mitch Mother-effing Leery in his swank bachelor pad. This episode is crammed with awesome.

Big thanks to Kelly for joining us and being our guinea pig! We had a lot of fun recording the episode, and hope everyone enjoys listening.

Shirtless Dawson gets some chinese food — Epidode 37 – After Hours II Aug 12, 2015
Show notes

Just a reminder that Dawson gets his delivery food with nothing but a blanket wrapped around his junk. Come on!

Wait, don’t hit that delete button just yet! Yes, this is a second watching of a season 5 episode, but, and maybe this is the Not Your Father’s Rootbeers talking, but I think we actually got a lot more out of this episode on our second watch through. Dawson is relatively recently de-virginized, and he’s just out there laying pipe, making up for lost time. He ends up in the bed of a film critic, and spends the day talkin’ movies and grabbin’ boobies. Joey is just trying to get some studying done, even though all her friends won’t leave her alone. Jack is under the gun to pass a test in a course he’s failing and has to go back to his old frat to get help. Pacey is acting entirely out of character and cheating on his girlfriend, and Audrey, poor Audrey, is kicking him to the curb. We ended up not hating his episode nearly as much as we thought we would, and we hope you also don’t hate it that much!

Disclaimer: We are experimenting with a new recording method. While the audio for The Creek is crystal clear, the levels were not great and it is a bit loud. We should have this issue rectified next episode and hope you bear with us.

Abby Morgan and the other dude. — Episode 36 – Sex She Wrote… Again. Aug 05, 2015
Show notes

It says here that you are neither Brendan Fraser, nor Ken Marino. Just who ARE you?

Lots of repeats recently, but just like when Creek reruns pop up on ABC Family or TBS, I’ll watch it every time. After a brief rant (apologies everyone) Eric and Josh roll the dice and get that classic #sexyep from season 2: Sex She Wrote. Quick recap: Abby Morgan finds a note talkin’ about the previous nights escapades between two of our Capeside Kids. An investigation and interrogation ensues, and everyone is super uncomfortable and angry. Who had sex? Will we find out? Do we already know? Yes, we watched this a few weeks ago! But lets forget all that and enjoy watching Abby do her mean-girl thing.

Joey & Bessie Potter — Episode 35 – Baby III Jul 29, 2015
Show notes

This is Joey’s rarely seen “You shittin’ me?” face.

It’s a three-peat! Remember that time we watched the episode about Joey’s sister having her baby? And she had to have it at Dawson’s House because the emergency management situation in Capeside is pretty abysmal? Then remember the time we watched it again and weren’t quite as enthralled and I think we played Salt-n-Peppa videos off of youtube? Well if you liked that, then THIS might just be your favorite episode yet! If you’ve listened in the past you may have noticed that on these repeat episodes, we digress a bit. Maybe everything isn’t totally Creek-related. But we have a good time, crack some jokes, talk about David Bowie, Taylor Swift, and read some viewer comments. Good times!

Pacey is hot. — Episode 34 – Indian Summer Jul 22, 2015
Show notes

This screencap is for all of the Pacey…. *wait for it*… fans. GET IT?! You get it.

Time to get sweaty, everyone. The Creek is in the middle of a sweltering indian summer, and the weather aint the only thing that’s getting hot. Most importantly, it’s an episode from season 3. We asked for you to pray for us, and apparently you prayed good, because that sweet little D6 rolled a 3. So the episode has a film noir theme, get ready for lots of dutch angles and cheesy saxophone music. The elusive Eve makes her first appearance on our show, and is throwing Dawson’s world into chaos. Andie is recently split from Pacey, and dating an utter garbage-human, from whom Joey is trying to rescue her. Jack is trying to get Jen laid, and Pacey doesn’t really have much character development going on this episode, so he’s pretty much just running around being awesome, which is what he does best.
