Ep. 266: Orthodox Salvation, Life, and Death, with Dr. Clark Carlton Jun 20, 2023

Show notes

Dr. Clark Carlton is the author of many books, including one of my favorites, "The Life: The Orthodox Doctrine of Salvation". We discuss many of the themes in this book, including theosis, faith vs. works, once saved - always saved, heaven, hell, sin, differences in the Church and the various denominations, and more. Clark Carlton was reared as a Southern Baptist in middle Tennessee. He was enrolled as a Raymond Brian Brown Memorial Scholar at the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, when he converted to the Orthodox Church. If you are unsure of what the Orthodox view is on any of the issues listed here, this is the episode for you.

Ep. 265: This Isn't Political, It's Theological, with Dave Smith Jun 13, 2023

Show notes

My guest today is the host of the Part of the Problem podcast and also a well-known standup comedian. He has the largest audience of any podcaster in the libertarian world and has been on the Joe Rogan Experience many times. Today we discuss his ability to see the Trump phenomenon for what it was when many in the libertarian world couldn't. We also discuss the Covid years and how he was able to see through the massive amounts of propaganda being shoved down our throats. We also get into Dave now seeing much of what is going on these days as a spiritual battle rather than just a political battle. Dave gives a very honest account of when he found God and how impactful that moment was to him.

Ep. 264: Exorcisms and the Demonic Realm, with Father Vincent Lampert Jun 06, 2023

Show notes

First of all, Julie Mastrine is back with us as my co-host, and we are interviewing Father Vincent Lampert. Vincent Lampert is an American Catholic priest and the designated exorcist of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis. As you may imagine, he's seen a lot of things that most of us haven't. We dive into his experiences as an exorcist and what that looks like, what it means, what it doesn't mean, and so on. Are demons real? Is possession real? Does it look like it does in the movies? Why does possession happen? Can we open ourselves up to it, even by accident? Is this just a way to deal with a person that needs psychological help? You will hear all of these issues and more discussed on this episode of the Counterflow Podcast.

Show notes

My guest this week is author Kenny Xu. Kenny has written "An Inconvenient Minority: The Harvard Admissions Case and the Attack on Asian American Excellence" and "School of Woke: How Critical Race Theory Infiltrated American Schools, and Why We Must Reclaim Them". He is also part of the lawsuit against Harvard on behalf of Asian students that calls out their racist admissions program. In this episode, we discuss the evils of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies and the harm they continue to do. We discuss the lawsuit that he's part of vs. Harvard, social credit and ESG scores, woke corporate policies, where it all comes from, and what to do to fight it.

Ep. 262: The Peaks and Valleys of Online Orthodoxy, Pt. 2, with Fr. Turbo, George Michalopulos, and Alex Braszko May 23, 2023

Show notes

This week, we bring you Part 2 of a two-part series on the issues surrounding discussions of Orthodox Christianity on various internet platforms. This format is slightly different for a few reasons. First off, it's moderated by Alex Braszko rather than myself, and I'm more of a panel "guest". And then, as you've likely noticed in the title, it's broken into two episodes. Fr. Turbo guides us through explanations of the hierarchy of the Church, what is appropriate for certain people to speak on publicly, dealing with criticism, and more. George offers up his opinions and experiences running the Monomakhos blog for many years. Why can certain online Orthodox forums be as toxic as they are? Are we risking appearing prideful and lacking humility to Ortho-curious folks? Are people coming to the Church because of finding it through online platforms? Why are so many Orthodox Christians seeking guidance from voices online? We get into all this and more.

Ep. 260: The Pandemic and the War on Humanity, with Dr. Naomi Wolf May 09, 2023

Show notes

Dr. Naomi Wolf joins me this week to go over the serious information that her team has uncovered in the Pfizer documents. At dailyclout.io, she has assembled a team of over 3500 medical experts to comb over the thousands and thousands of pages of Pfizer documents that the FDA tried to have sealed for 75 years. Luckily, a judge did not allow that. Also, Naomi and her team have discovered many of the reasons that Pfizer didn't want that information to be public. There was not incompetence on their part, but rather outright maliciousness. They knew the harmful effects and the wide variety of them and hid them from the public. We go through many of them in this short episode, and the end result is population decline, which appears to be a feature, not a bug. We get into all of this, along with issues of repentance, punishment, forgiveness, spiritual warfare, good vs. evil, and more.

For more information on the heroic work Naomi and her staff are doing, go here: https://dailyclout.io

Ep. 259: The True Understanding of the Crucifixion, with Dr. Eugenia Constantinou May 02, 2023

Show notes

My guest this week has more credentials than I can list here, so I will simply call her author of great books and Presbytera, Dr. Eugenia Constantinou. We discuss many of the themes in her latest book, "The Crucifixion of the King of Glory". Growing up in the West, many of us fail to understand the full meaning of Christ's death on the Cross, what he did between his death and resurrection, how we obtain salvation, what sin is, what hades and hell are, and so on. Dr. Jeannie (as I call her) and I take a deep dive into these topics. We start with a chat on the Bible being seen as a real historical record, and we go from there.

Ep. 258: The Government, the Church, and the Culture, with Monica Perez Apr 25, 2023

Show notes

My guest this week is friend of the show and world-renowned podcaster, Monica Perez. Monica and I had such a great discussion that I didn't even get to one of my questions that I had written for this interview! We get into a chat about questioning forms of governance, church and state, and questioning other "taboos" that we take for granted. This is a very free-flowing and fun talk!

Ep. 257: The Libertarian to Orthodox Christianity Pipeline, with Matt Erickson and Julie Mastrine Apr 19, 2023

Show notes

My guests this week, like myself, both considered themselves libertarians at one point. They now, like myself, are Orthodox Christians. They are Matt Erickson, of the Kingpilled podcast, and Julie Mastrine. My guests and myself are not the only ones to journey on this path. Why is this a thing? What is it about Orthodoxy that attracts some libertarians. Is libertarianism compatible with Orthodox Christianity? Are we still using political labels at this point? Is libertarian thought rooted in a post-enlightenment worldview? Matt and Amy take us on their journey and discuss what they've learned along the way and how they've changed.
