    Dry Eye Disease Mar 25, 2022

    On this episode, we discuss dry eye disease (also known as keratoconjunctivitis sicca). We give some basic background information including pathophysiology and signs/symptoms. We then compare and contrast the various artificial tear products based on the information from "Artificial tears potpourri: a literature review" (PubMed ID below). We then discuss the roles of ophth cyclosporine, ophth lifitegrast, and nasal varenicline.

    Tirzepatide: A New Frontier for Diabetes Management Feb 15, 2022

    A Review of SSRIs and the ANTLER Trial Jan 07, 2022

    On this episode, Cole and I are joined by Trevor Walker, PharmD Candidate 2022. We begin by comparing and contrasting the original SSRIs as well as new agents like vortioxetine and vilazodone. We then review some serotonin (5-HT) receptors and how their activity (or inhibition) determine and mitigate outcomes and adverse effects. We close by reviewing the ANTLER trial that was published in NEJM in September 2021.
