    When we experience a difficult time, we may believe that finding joy is too hard, too much to hope for, and only for those who are resilient enough. According to Dr. Tanmeet Sethi, joy is an innate human right accessible to all. Dr. Sethi helps us rediscover joy, not as a destination or solution, but as a practice for healing. Dr. Sethi is a board-certified integrative family medicine physician and clinical associate professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She has spent the past 25 years working on the frontlines of the most marginalized communities, as well as globally with victims of school shootings, survivors of hurricanes, citizens impacted by police violence, and psychologists in Ukraine under attack. Dr. Sethi is the author of the book, Joy is My Justice: Reclaim What Is Yours.

At more than three hundred pounds, Kara climbed Mount Kilimanjaro bringing her from the depth of self-doubt to the top of the world. Her difficult trek speaks to every woman who has struggled with negative self-image. Kara talks about her journey of intense passion, endurance, and self-acceptance. Kara is the founder and CEO of The Gorgeous Agency, an outdoor adventurer and influencer, and author of the book, Gorge: My Journey Up Kilimanjaro at 300 Pounds, which is soon to be a movie produced by and starring This Is Us actress, Chrissy Metz.

    Navigating Mental Health Challenges with Kay Warren Mar 11, 2024

    Mental health challenges are real and they’re common. It has been reported that 1 in 5 adults experience some form of mental illness in a given year, and nearly 1 in 5 children have some type of serious mental illness. Kay Warren discusses how we can support individuals struggling with mental health challenges and their loved ones. Kay cofounded Saddleback Church with her husband, Rick Warren. After the death of her son, Matthew, who lived with serious mental illness for most of his life, she founded Saddleback’s Hope for Mental Health Initiative as a way to support individuals and family members of loved ones with mental illness and suicidal ideation. In 2019, Kay started BREATHE, a ministry to support parents of children with serious mental illness. BREATHE events include weekend respite retreats, online retreats, and free Zoom calls with mental health professionals. Kay was a board member of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention and is active in mental health/suicide prevention efforts in Orange County, Ca. She is the author of several books including, Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn't Enough.
