E212: Alex VanDalsen Jan 11, 2024

Show notes

Twenty-one year old Alex VanDalsen left his home in Lafayette, Indiana on the evening of February 3rd, 2021 to start the first shift at a new job. However, when he forgot the necessary paperwork at home, he wasn’t able to do so. Only about an hour after returning home, around 11:44pm, Alex left home again— this time on foot. Six days later, law enforcement showed up at Jen VanDalsen’s door to let her know that they had located the body of her son. But, after being given misinformation, after potential leads not being followed, after specific testing not being done, Alex’s mother Jen wants answers. And, after you hear about the case, you will as well.

E211: Laura Van Wyhe Jan 04, 2024

Show notes

Laura Van Wyhe was ready to set down roots, open a business, and create a life for herself and her young son. Then, early one morning just days after her 21st birthday, someone cut her life short. The details of where Laura was found, how she was dressed, and the items found on or near her were nearly as perplexing as the question of who would want to harm such a beautiful soul.

E210: Shawn Edwards Dec 14, 2023

Show notes

A custodian at Middletown High School in Middletown, New York, arrived to work just after 6 am on January 16th, 1986 only to find someone slumped over by one of the school's side-entrance doors; he immediately phoned local law enforcement. When police arrived, they discovered that the "someone" was only a child-- a child who had been violently and senselessly attacked. After his identity was discovered and an autopsy was performed, a full-scale investigation began. Despite strong efforts by law enforcement, nearly 37 years later we are still wondering how he got to the school, why he wasn't dressed for the weather, and (most importantly) who could have taken his life. This is the case of Shawn Edwards.

However, the day (already bad due to an argument with a coworker) got even worse when another argument ensued with her ex. Rather than go back to work after lunch, Prisma proceeded to make several subsequent decisions that were either out of character or unexplainable. Dottie Caylor Nov 09, 2023

Show notes

By all accounts, 41-year-old Dottie Caylor suffered from a near debilitating phobia of public places and spent most all of her time at home. So, when her soon-to-be ex-husband reported that she had asked him to drive her to a very public, crowded train station so she could travel to visit a friend, the story raised eyebrows. When Dottie failed to ever return, suspicions continued to grow.
