Gaining the World but Losing Your Soul | Day 285 Oct 12, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 285 | Mark 8:22-30; Matthew 16:13-20; Luke 9:18-20; Mark 8:31–9:1; Matthew 16:21-28; Luke 9:21-27; Mark 9:2-13; Matthew 17:1-13; Luke 9:28-36

When Jesus predicts His suffering and death, Peter rebukes Him—only to be sharply corrected: “Get behind me, Satan.” Jesus exposes the danger of seeing life from a human point of view rather than God’s. He then calls His followers to take up their cross, deny themselves, and follow Him. Today’s reading reveals the true cost of discipleship and the freedom found in surrendering everything to Christ.

Following Jesus for the Wrong Reasons | Day 283 Oct 10, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 283 | John 6:22-71; Mark 7:1-23; Matthew 15:1-20

After feeding the five thousand, Jesus confronts the crowds who follow Him only for more food. He calls them to seek eternal life, not temporary satisfaction. When His teaching becomes difficult—“Eat my flesh and drink my blood”—many turn away, but Peter boldly declares, “You have the words of eternal life.” This powerful moment exposes the difference between those who want something from Jesus and those who truly want Him.

Jesus Amazed by Unbelief | Day 281 Oct 08, 2025

    Jesus Heals the Demon-Possessed Man | Day 280 Oct 07, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 280 | Mark 5:1-20; Matthew 8:28-34; Luke 8:26-39; Mark 5:21-43; Matthew 9:18-26; Luke 8:40-56

In Mark 5, Jesus meets a man living among the tombs, tormented by a legion of demons. No one could restrain him, but at the command of Christ the demons fled into a herd of pigs and the man was set free. While the villagers begged Jesus to leave, the man longed to follow Him. Instead, Jesus sent him back to his family with a mission: tell what the Lord has done and how He has shown mercy. This powerful story reminds us that no one is beyond hope, and every changed life becomes a testimony of God’s grace.

Jesus Calms the Storm | Day 279 Oct 06, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 279 | Matthew 13:10-23; Luke 8:9-18; Mark 4:21-29; Matthew 13:24-30; Mark 4:30-34; Matthew 13:31-52; Mark 4:35-41; Matthew 8:23-27; Luke 8:22-25

In today’s reading, Jesus calms the storm on the Sea of Galilee. As the waves crashed and the boat filled with water, the disciples panicked while Jesus slept. But with a word, He rebuked the wind and the sea, and all was calm. Terrified and amazed, the disciples asked, “Who is this man?” This story reveals six powerful truths: God is never caught off guard, Jesus is the one we must run to, all creation submits to Him, He is all-powerful, His hard questions draw us closer, and His promises always come true. When Jesus says we’re going to the other side, we can trust Him to bring us safely through the storm.

The Parable of the Sower | Day 278 Oct 05, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 278 | Luke 8:1-3; Mark 3:20-30; Matthew 12:22-45; Mark 3:31-35; Matthew 12:46-50; Luke 8:19-21; Mark 4:1-9; Matthew 13:1-9; Luke 8:4-8; Mark 4:10-20

Today’s reading brings us to one of Jesus’s most important parables: the sower and the seed. Jesus explains that the Word of God is like seed scattered on different soils—hard paths, rocky ground, thorny patches, and good soil. Some hear but quickly fall away, some let worry or riches choke out the Word, but those with receptive hearts bear lasting fruit. The challenge is clear: what kind of soil will we be? A saved life should be a changed life, producing a harvest for God’s kingdom.

The Amazing Faith of the Roman Centurion | Day 277 Oct 04, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 277 | Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 7:1-17; Matthew 11:1-19; Luke 7:18-35; Matthew 11:20-30; Luke 7:36-50

In today’s reading, we see the amazing faith of a Roman centurion who trusted that Jesus’s word alone could heal his servant. Jesus was amazed and declared He had not found such faith in all Israel. Soon after, His compassion overflowed as He raised a widow’s only son back to life, leaving the crowds in awe that God had visited His people. Even John the Baptist, struggling with doubt in prison, found reassurance in the works of Christ. From the faith of the centurion to the humility of a forgiven sinner, these passages remind us that Jesus sees us, has compassion on us, and calls us to trust Him fully.

Jesus Warns Against Worry | Day 276 Oct 03, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 276 | Matthew 6:5–7:6; Luke 6:37-42; Matthew 7:7-20; Luke 6:43-45; Matthew 7:21-29; Luke 6:46-49

In today’s reading from Matthew 6, Jesus teaches that no one can serve two masters—you cannot serve both God and money. He calls His followers to trust the Father’s care, not to be consumed with worry about food, clothing, or tomorrow’s needs. Just as God provides for the birds and the flowers, He promises to provide for His people. The key is to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting Him as the true Provider.
