When the Righteous Are Hated Without Cause | Day 133 May 13, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 133 | Psalms 68–70; Psalm 86; Psalm 101

David’s honesty reminds us that it's okay to bring raw emotion to God—he can handle our despair, our pain, and even our longing for justice. In today's reading, Michael and Derek explore how David cries out for help, mourns betrayal, and then shifts into a deeply emotional plea for justice—what’s known as an imprecatory psalm. But what should we, as New Testament believers, do when we feel wronged? This episode highlights how to handle enemies with grace, why vengeance belongs to the Lord, and how Jesus’ teaching to pray for those who persecute us changes everything.

    Day 130 | Psalms 35–38

David pours out his heart to the Lord in Psalm 35, choosing to trust God over taking vengeance into his own hands. Though surrounded by those he once helped, David refuses to repay evil with evil. This episode explores how believers today can respond to betrayal, conflict, and bitterness by letting God fight our battles. The Death of King David | Day 126 May 06, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 126 | 1 Kings 2:1-9; 2 Samuel 23:1-7; 1 Kings 2:10-12; 1 Chronicles 29:26-30; Psalms 4–6; Psalms 8–9, 11

We witness the final moments of one of the greatest kings in Israel’s history—David. As death approaches, David charges his son Solomon with the most important task of all: to walk faithfully with God. We hear David’s last words in 1 Kings 2, a powerful reminder of the responsibility we all carry to obey the Lord. As Solomon takes the throne, David’s legacy is passed on—but so are the consequences of his past. Alongside this historic transition, we reflect through Psalms that capture David’s deep love for God, giving us a glimpse into the heart of a man after God’s own heart.
