The Line of the Messiah Preserved | Day 245 Sep 02, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 245 | 1 Chronicles 5:18-26; 1 Chronicles 6:3b, 49, 4-15; 1 Chronicles 7:1–8:28

In 1 Chronicles 5–8, long lists of names remind us that even in what may seem ordinary, God is faithful. These genealogies trace the tribes of Israel, preserve priestly lineages, and confirm inheritance rights, especially after exile. Most importantly, they preserve the line of promise leading to the Messiah. Every name mattered in God’s plan, and each life was remembered in His faithfulness.

God Warns Israel to Repent Before It’s Too Late | Day 244 Sep 01, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 244 | Ezekiel 32:17–33:20; Jeremiah 52:28-30; Psalm 137; 1 Chronicles 4:24–5:17

In Ezekiel 33, God responds to His people who groan under the weight of their sin in exile. The Lord declares that He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that they turn from their ways and live. He warns that past righteousness cannot cover present sin, but even the wicked will be forgiven if they repent. God judges each person according to their deeds, yet He reveals His heart as a merciful Father who longs to restore His people.

God Raises a Great Army from the Valley of Bones | Day 243 Aug 31, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 243 | Ezekiel 37:1–39:29; Ezekiel 32:1-16

In Ezekiel 37–39, God gives Ezekiel a vision of the valley of dry bones—an image of Israel’s hopelessness in exile. As the prophet speaks God’s word, the bones rattle, flesh and skin cover them, and breath fills them until they stand as a great army. God promises to restore His people, to unite Judah and Israel, and to cleanse them from their sin so they will be His people and He will be their God. Even in judgment, the Lord proves He is faithful, merciful, and the true source of life.

The Prophecy of the Good Shepherd Who Lays Down His Life | Day 242 Aug 30, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 242 | Ezekiel 34:1–36:38

In Ezekiel 34, God pronounces judgment on the shepherds of Israel—the leaders who fed themselves instead of caring for His flock. Because they abandoned the sheep, the people were scattered and vulnerable. The Lord declares that He Himself will search for His sheep, rescue them, and bring them home. He promises to place over them one true shepherd, His servant David, pointing to the coming Messiah. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows His sheep, calls them by name, and lays down His life for them.

    The Lord Exposes Israel’s Empty Worship | Day 241 Aug 29, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 241 | Jeremiah 42:1–44:30; Ezekiel 33:21-33

In Ezekiel 33, God reveals the hearts of His people in captivity: they eagerly gather to hear His word but treat it as entertainment, never intending to obey. They pretend sincerity, but their mouths are full of empty talk and their hearts chase after money and desire. The Lord warns that a day is coming when His words will prove true, and then they will know a prophet was among them. God calls His people not only to hear but to apply His word, for His truth is living, active, and never misses the mark.

Jerusalem Cries Out in Desolation | Day 240 Aug 28, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 240 | Lamentations 5:1-22; Obadiah 1:1-21; 2 Kings 25:22-26; Jeremiah 40:7–41:18

Although the episode includes Obadiah and the aftermath of Jerusalem’s fall, the hosts spend more time and emotional energy on Lamentations 5, especially Jeremiah’s prayer for restoration and God’s unchanging nature. The titles should focus on that—Jeremiah’s final lament and God’s enduring faithfulness—with Obadiah’s judgment on Edom as a secondary theme.

The Fall of Jerusalem and the Hope to Come | Day 239 Aug 27, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 239 | Lamentations 2:1–4:22

Jerusalem has fallen. God’s judgment has come—not in a sudden outburst, but as the result of centuries of rebellion and ignored warnings. In the book of Lamentations, Jeremiah pours out his grief over the destruction of the city and the temple, recognizing that it was the Lord who fulfilled His promised discipline. Yet even in the darkest moment, Jeremiah dares to hope. He remembers that the same God who brought justice is also full of mercy. His steadfast love never ceases, and His faithfulness is great. Though the people suffer, restoration is still possible for those who return to Him.

The Temple of God Is Destroyed | Day 238 Aug 26, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 238 | Jeremiah 39:11-18; Jeremiah 40:1-6; 2 Kings 25:8-21; Jeremiah 52:12-27; 2 Chronicles 36:15-21; Lamentations 1:1-22

After centuries of warnings and repeated calls to repentance, God’s patience with Judah came to an end. The Babylonians breached Jerusalem, burned the temple, tore down its walls, and carried the survivors into exile. In this sobering account, we see God’s compassion and patience toward His people, His justice and judgment when they refuse to turn back, and His sovereignty in directing even pagan kings to accomplish His purposes. This was the day the presence of God’s temple was removed from His people.

The Fall of Lucifer Described in Ezekiel | Day 237 Aug 25, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 237 | Ezekiel 26:15–28:26; 2 Kings 25:3-7; Jeremiah 52:6-11; Jeremiah 39:2-10

In this powerful passage, God’s judgment against the King of Tyre reveals the pride and corruption of the one influencing him — Satan himself. Once a guardian cherub in Eden, Lucifer fell from glory because of pride, choosing his own way instead of God’s. Alongside this, Jerusalem’s fall unfolds as King Zedekiah tries to flee but is overtaken, ending Israel’s final stand. Yet even in judgment, God promises restoration for His people, pointing to the ultimate reign of Christ.

Jeremiah Buys Land in a City About to Fall | Day 236 Aug 24, 2025
    Show notes

    Day 236 | Jeremiah 32:1–33:26; Ezekiel 26:1-14

While imprisoned and with Jerusalem under siege, Jeremiah obeys God’s unusual command to buy a field from his cousin — land he will never use in his lifetime. This prophetic act, sealed and stored away, was God’s message to His people that they would one day return and once again own property in the land. Jeremiah’s obedience in a hopeless situation became a living sign of God’s faithfulness and a call for us to live in a way that points others toward hope.
