Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #880 Mar 04, 2022
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Tony Glover look ahead to Chelsea's match against Burnley on Saturday and look back at our win against Luton in the FA Cup last Wednesday.

Liam Twomey from The Athletic joins us in part one to discuss the 3-2 win against Luton Town in the FA Cup on Wednesday. A shocking 1st half with Saar and Kenedy poor, but a better 2nd half where Lukaku and Werner both scored.

We catch up on today's press conference where the press asked questions of Thomas Tuchel he couldn't answer: the impact of the news that Roman Abramovich is selling Chelsea; Marina Granovskaia's future; Tuchel's future; transfer plans; derailing the season; out of contract players oh and we found out that Azpilicueta is out injured.

We wrap up part one by answering some of the questions we have about Chelsea's impending sale. Did Roman have to sell? Who are the potential buyers? What must the new buyers do to get the supporters on-side?

In part two, Adam Dennett of the No Nay Never podcast joins us for the 'Opposition View'. We ask him what he thinks about Abramovich selling Chelsea? Burnley's recent form and can they avoid relegaton? Should they have sold Chris Wood to Newcastle? How will Dyche set up and how does Adam see it going and what is his prediction?

In part three, Chidge, JK and Tony give their preview of the Burnley v Chelsea match. Chidge gives his Team selection and we discuss Chelsea's record at Burnley; their ability to hurt Chelsea and the importance of finishing chances off and putting the game beyond Burnley's reach, as well as our predictions for the match.

We round up the show with a discussion about Roman Abramovich's incredible legacy in his 20 years of owning the club.

“The One That Got Away” Chelsea FanCast #879 Feb 28, 2022
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton Beerman and Mark Meehan to look back at the narrowest of defeats to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final, and ahead to Wednesday nights FA Cup 5th round tie against Luton.

On the show tonight, in part one, we look at Tuchel’s team selection, discuss a game of 2 Halves, of 2 halves and 2 halves. We ask why can’t Chelsea finish and bemoan our luck with decisions?

In part two we ask did Tuchel and Chelsea pay the penalty by subbing Kepa on for Mendy for the shoot out? Who were the winners and losers on the pitch for Chelsea? Ask does Chelsea have a Wembley hoodoo with 5 out of our last 6 finals lost? And with Roman Abramovich and Chelsea in the news all week for all the wrong reasons we ask what on earth is going on?

In part three we preview Chelsea’s FA Cup 5th round tie with Luton on Wednesday. Suggest Thomas Tuchel’s Team selection for the The Kerry Dixon Derby, find out what we know about Luton? And wrap up with how we see it going and prediction

Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #878 Feb 25, 2022
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Alex Churchill look ahead to Chelsea's Carabao Cup Final against Liverpool on Sunday and recap the Champions League win against Lille this week.

Adam Newson from Football.London joins us in part one to discuss the 2-0 win against Lille on Tuesday. A good win, good performance and the pressing and fluidity is back. Havertz v Lukaku is the case proven? Pulisic on the score sheet; Mendy and the defence imperious and Kante’s twin is back! Adam also reports back on Thomas Tuchel's press conference today where he answered questions on selection for Sunday's final? Will he be crazy enough to put James on the pitch, will it be Havertz rather than Lukaku and Mendy or Kepa? And Chelsea's Cup winning mentality –is uit down to Tuchel's "trust yourself, free your mind, release the tension, less details" approach and do Chelsea play better when underdogs?

In part two, Chidge, JK and Alex give their preview of the Carabao Cup Final. Chidge gives his Team selection and we ask surely Havertz has to start? What about Mount? Jorginho back or stay with Kante and Kovacic? Mendy or Kepa? We look at the League cup record against Liverpool – do we have the edge and will our hunt for the trophy be helped by Kelleher starting in goal, for Liverpool and Jota and Firmino out injured?

We wrap up by asking just how important is winning the Carabao Cup and how do we see it going & give you our predictions.

On the show tonight, in part one, we look at Tuchel’s team selection, some below par performances at a windy Selhurst Park and Hakin Ziyech saving the day.

In part two we look at the conundrum that is Romelu Lukaku. Is it poor service, Lukaku not being good enough or is it the wrong system? And we ask are we all getting things slightly out of perspective with Chelsea’s current form.

In part three we have the results of this week’s Fannies for the Palace match, a couple of Discord questions and some emails to read out.

We wrap up in part four with a look ahead to Tuesday night’s Champions League match against Lille.
