Pat Nevin Live at the Troubadour Chelsea FanCast #945 Nov 11, 2022
    Show notes

In the second of our series of live shows from the Troubadour in London, Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd are joined by Chelsea legend and arguably one of Chelsea's greatest creative players...Pat Nevin.

Pat Nevin discusses Chelsea's disappointing defeat at home to Arsenal and gives his views on Graham Potter, the Boehly regime; Chelsea's players and style of play and gives us some insight on what might be going on behind the scenes.

Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

“Potter, Potter, Where’s Your Wand?” Chelsea FanCast #944 Nov 07, 2022
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Tony Glover to look back at the defeat to Arsenal and ahead to wednesday night's Carabao Cup tie against Man City.

On the show tonight, in part one, we discuss the Chelsea v Arsenal match; Chelsea still not being able to beat the press; the midfield being bullied by a much nastier Arsenal side than we’ve seen for years and the air of resignation hanging around. Was this match a fair reflection of where the two teams are at the moment?

In part two, we ask is it old news that we’re not Chelsea anymore? Try and unravel the complicated narrative; ask is it time for a reality check? And ask is Potter lucky or unlucky?

In part three we have a quick chat about the Champions’ League draw pitting us against Borussia Dortmund and we preview Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup match against Man City. We wrap up in part four with some high-quality emails to read out.

Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #943 Nov 04, 2022
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton 'The Houswives Choice' Beerman to look back at Chelsea's 2-1 win against Dinamo Zagreb and ahead to Sunday's clash against Arsenal.

In part one we look back at wednesday night's 2-1 win against Zagreb and ask Denis Zakaria – who knew?; and Ben Chilwell and the curse of Chelsea's injured wing backs continues. Chelsea continued to be profilgate albeit in a fairly comfortable win but who should Graham Potter be starting and who shouldn't and is there a case for starting players in their preferred positions? And who do we want/not want in the next round of the Champions' League?

In part two we look ahead to Sunday's match against Arsenal; arguably Potters biggest test to date with the Gunners sitting at the top of the Premier League by 2 points. Chidge reveals his team selection and we ask is Arteta a template for how to manage a club in transition? Is this a must win for Potter to prove we can beat a big 6 rival and be in the top 4 before the world cup? And a defeat to Arsenal would mean we could lose all 3 games before the world cup – how big an issue would that be?

We wrap up by discussing how do we see it going, complete with our predictions.

Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd are joined by Tony Glover to look back at a horrifying defeat to Brighton and ahead to the Champions' League tie against Dinamo Zagreb.

On the show tonight, in part one, we discuss the bloody awful kit and the bloody awful performance. Why Potter is to blame for the wrong selection and wrong system; are Sterling and Cucurella victims or villains and was there something familiar about the omnishambles the players produced?

In part two, we ask is Potter too clever by half tactically. Has there been too much rotation? And are there genuinely mitigating factors underlying this result and where does Potter go from here. In part three. We look ahead to Wednesday night’s Champions League match at home to Dinamo Zagreb and in part four we have some emails to read out.

We also quiz Adam about Chelsea's appointment of Laurence Stewart as Technical Director and what it means for Chelsea.

In part two we preview the match against Brighton. Chidge reveals his team selection both at the start and end to the match!? Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #939 Oct 21, 2022
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton Beerman to look back at Chelsea's draw away to Brentford and ahead to the match against Man Utd on Saturday.

In part one, we discuss the draw away to Brentford with some strange selections and substitutions from Potter and another outsanding performance from Kepa and an excellent cameo from Pulisic. Brentford made it tough for Chelsea who had to settle for a hard earned draw.

In part two we look ahead to the match against Man Utd on Saturday. What will Potter's team selection be? And are Utd finding their form under Ten Hag? Is Chelsea's poor recent form against Utd a bit of a myth and how important is it to win given a defeat would put Utd above us in the league?

As always we wrap up with our predictions,
