    "Sussed" Chelsea FanCast #440 Nov 12, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Mark Worrall and Alex Churchill to look back at an attritional 0-0 draw with Everton on Sunday.

On the show tonight we’ll be pondering whether Chelsea has been sussed and will the opposition use Everton’s performance as a blueprint to stifle Chelsea?

In part two we address the lack of a quality striker again; bemoan the incompetence of Premier League referees; ask whether it should be the supporters who lift the team or the team who should lift the supporters after Luiz’s exhortations to the Matthew Harding lower and with Chelsea seemingly way behind a rampant Man City we ask how will Sarri manage expectations this season.

In part three, we have two superb emails for Jonathan to read out and for us to answer.

In part four, our Chelsea Specials include a chat with Marco about the cfcuk 200th edition party and book fair and Alex about how Chelsea helped her commemorate Remembrance Day plus a roundup of the usual shout outs.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio 09/11/18 Nov 10, 2018
    Show notes

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Clayton Beerman are joined by Love Sport's Aaron Paul to have a look back at Chelsea's 1-0 victory over Bate Borisov in the Europa League and last week's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace as well as looking ahead to Chelsea v Everton this weekend.

Rounding up the Chelsea news this week, we discuss why a European Super League will be a disaster for English football; Chelsea in the market for Callum Wilson for £35m in January; Ruben Loftus Cheek being recalled to the England squad and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba announcing his retirement.

Looking back at the Europa League match against Bate Borisov, we ask was this Chelsea's worst performance of the season? With Bate hitting the woodwork 4 times, when will Chelsea’s luck run out? With Giroud scoring his first goal since May will this be the confidence boost he needs to find the onion bag more regularly? And with qualification secured and the job done, will Sarri look to rest players in the final group match?

We have an interview with Neil 'Smiffy' Smith, author of "Where Were You When We Were Shocking", who's first Chelsea match was in 1966, since when he has been to over 2,000 matches. Neil gives us an insight in to what it was like following Chelsea in an era when we lost more than we won and reveals that thanks to the bond between the supporters, it was the pre and post match that more than made up for it.

Re-visiting the win against Crystal Palace last weekend, we praise Morata, Jorginho and Sarri for the great team spirit he is building.

To wrap up we take a look at Chelsea v Everton on Sunday with the 'Opposition View' from Tom Clarke from the Toffee Blues Podcast and discuss Sarri's chances of breaking the record of match wins as a new manager and Chelsea's excellent record against Everton at home over the last 24 years before revealing our predictions.

All this plus calls from Kendall, Mark and Dan.

The Kerry Dixon Show 08/11/18 Nov 08, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea, Kerry Dixon, to look back at Chelsea's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace and ahead to the Europa Cup match against Bate Borisov and Sunday's Premier League clash against Everton.

Chelsea finally got their just deserts against Crystal Palace on Sunday but the South Londoners didn't make it easy and the match was only really settled by Eden Hazard coming on as a sub. Kerry was encouraged by Morata scoring two goals and putting himself about a bit, but still thinks it's too early to pass judgement on the Spaniard.

With Sarri's Chelsea pushing Man City hard and still to be beaten in any competition, Kerry believes that as well as the quality of football improving, Sarri has generated a great team spirit.

Looking ahead to Bate Borisov, several key players have been rested including three quarters of the defence and Alvaro Morata, however, Hazard, Kante and Jorginho who probably need a rest have made the trip. Kerry believes that whoever Sarri picks should be capable of beating Bate pretty much ensuring qualification to the last 32. Hopefully Ruben Loftus Cheek will get another chance to impress.

Everton visit the Bridge on Sunday and although they had a poor start to the season, Silva their new manager seems to be getting them performing much better recently. Another opponent not to be taken lightly, Kerry still believes that Chelsea will have enough to beat Everton and keep the unbeaten run going.

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Tony Glover and ESPN's Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey to look back at Chelsea's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

On the show tonight we’ll be asking has Morata turned a corner and what do we make of Ruud Gullit’s comments that he hasn’t been getting the service he needs

In part two we applaud Hazard, Sarri’s tactical subs; look at our impressive attacking options; give due praise to Jorginho, Chelsea’s unsung hero, smell the team spirit at Chelsea at the moment and ask why isn’t Sarri and Chelsea getting the credit they deserve.

In part three, we have four superb emails for Jonathan to read out and for us to answer.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Alex Churchill are joined by Love Sport's Aaron Paul to have a look back at Chelsea's 3-2 victory over 'Frank Lampard's' Derby County and Burnley v Chelsea and look ahead to Chelsea v Crystal Palace this Sunday.

Ollie Harbord, Football.London's Chelsea correspondent, joins us on the phone to report back on Sarri's press conference on Friday: Hazard fit for 45 mins? Kante mentally ready; the good start being unexpected; Gary Cahill is the Captain; Barkley is important and Ruben Loftus Cheek has improved but needs to keep improving & won't go on loan.

Looking back at the Carabao Cup match against Derby County, we discuss the great reception for Frank Lampard & Jody Morris; a bonkers match where Derby played well and were unlucky not to win. Was the dodgy defending from Emerson, Cahill, Christensen, Zappacosta a question of being not good enough or just rusty? Are Frank & Jody a future Chelsea management team?

We have former Chelsea player and Manager, John Hollins on the phone to share his memories of colleague Ken Shellito who sadly passed away at the age of 78 this week. Ken, one of 'Docherty's Diamonds', played for Chelsea from 1959-1965 and also managed Chelsea from 1977-1978.

Chelsea Chadder joins us on the phone to talk about his new book '100 Memorable Matches' delving in to some of Chelsea's greatest and not so great matches from 1905 to 2018.

Re-visiting the win against Burnley, we ask was this Chelsea's best performance of the season or were Burnley just poor? And has Morata really improved?

To wrap up we take a look at Chelsea v Crystal Palace on Sunday with the 'Opposition View' from former Palace player Shaun Derry and nail our colours to the mast with our match predictions,

The Kerry Dixon Show 03/11/18 Nov 02, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon to look back to the wins against Derby County and Burnley and look ahead to this weekends match against Crystal Palace

There was a great reception for Frank Lampard & Jody Morris as Chelsea took on Derby County in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday in a somewhat bonkers match – Derby played well and were unlucky not to win. Was this in part due to some dodgy Chelsea defending with the B team defence of Emerson, Cahill, Christensen and Zappacosta - are they not good enough or just rusty?

On the plus side we had more minutes for Loftus Cheek and Willian continuing his recent good form. What did Kerry think of the performances of Mason Mount & Tomori?

With Chelsea still unbeaten in all games and Bournemouth next in the quarter finals, can we smell another trophy? How important is it for Sarri?

Was it performance of the season against Burnley or were Burnley just poor? Should we be considered serious title challengers?

Did the win against Burnley prove that Chelsea can play well, score and win without Hazard?

With Chelsea playing Crystal Palace on Sunday, we hope that Hazard will be fit. The rest of the team picks itself but will Barkley to start ahead of Kovacic?

Finally Chidge and Kerry discuss the need to keep the unbeaten run going; keep pressure on at the top and show no complacency. Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs could all drop points this weekend and we have tougher games against Everton at home and spurs away next.

Apologies, but there is a technical fault on the recording this week with an echo on Kerry's contribution.

'Hand in Glove' Chelsea FanCast #438 Oct 29, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd & Alex 'The Girl Who Likes Balls' Churchill to look back at a convincing win against Burnley and Bate Borisov and look ahead to Wednesday's match against Derby County.

On the show tonight we’ll be asking with Chelsea still unbeaten can we really challenge for the title? And with Chelsea purring without Hazard, can we envisage a future without him?

In part two we give the plaudits to Ross Barkley; Willian and Alvaro Morata and pick up on Sarri’s comments that Barkley and Loftus Cheek could play together.

In part three, we look back at the Bate Borisov match and Ruben Loftus Cheek’s hat-trick and look ahead to the return of Frank Lampard and Jody Morris on Wednesday when Chelsea play Derby County in the Carabao cup. We also give you another chance to enter the competition to win a very rare DVD of the Bobby Tambling film – Bobby Tambling 202 – signed by the great man himself.

In part four we have a roundup of all the Chelsea supporter news and we’ll be reflecting on a grim weekend for football supporters with the news of the death in a helicopter crash of Leicester City’s owner and Glenn Hoddle being seriously ill with a heart attack.

Liam Twomey joins us to discuss Chelsea's week from a press perspective: Sarri's thoughts on the Bate Borisov match and the fall out from the Man Utd match.

Looking at the match against Bate Borisov, with Ruben Loftus Cheek scoring a hat-trick and playing a starring role, could he be played up front? And was Callum Hudson-Odoi's cameo enough to warrant a few more chances to impress?

Re-visiting the draw against Man Utd we ask was Mourinho the 'classless' one plus Hazard being kicked out of the game; Ross Barkley pressing for a place in the starting eleven and Morata going missing in action again.

'The Passion of Ex-Lovers' Chelsea FanCast #437 Oct 22, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Liam Twomey, ESPNs Chelsea correspondent to look back at Saturday's match against Man Utd.

On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the fall-out from the bust up on the benches. Was Marco Ianni classless? Did Mourinho manipulate the situation or was it an understandable reaction and were Chelsea fans really classless in chanting ‘Fuck Off Mourinho’?

In part two we give some credit to Mourinho’s tactics; worry about Eden Hazard; despair about Morata; question Chelsea’s defence and offer a tribute to Matthew Harding who died 22 years ago today.

In part three, we have four excellent emails for Jonathan to read out and in part four we have a roundup of Chelsea supporter news and an interview with Chris Barnett who has produced the “Bobby Tambling 202” film celebrating the career of Bobby Tambling with contributions from Frank Lampard, Kerry Dixon, Ron Harris and others. We’ll also have a competition to win a DVD of the film signed by Bobby Tambling. These are extremely rare as only 25 have been made, so this is a very special prize.

To view the film on-line go to www.chelseafan12.com and go to the videos section, pay 2.99 pounds and will be available to view for 5 days. If you want to enter the competition, we'll need your answers emailed to chelseafancast@gmail.com by Friday 26th October.
