When Stu Crum’s college football heroics put him on the national radar as a model student-athlete, the expectations for a bright future could not have predicted his soaring ascent in business. Tagged as a winner with a natural gift for leadership, Crum made his name internationally in key positions with Texaco, Shell Oil, Jiffy Lube, and Bridgestone, wrangling deals with the likes of activist investor Carl Icahn and other heavy hitters.

Yet beneath the surface lay a deeper man. While still at Tulsa University, Crum devoted his life to his faith and embraced servant leadership as his game plan for ultimate success in business, family, faith and fun. Despite personal setbacks and injury-laden stints with the NFL and USFL, Crum blossomed at every turn by developing a simple, dynamic playbook that put his every aspiration within reach. Mark Miller is a Wall Street Journal and international best-selling author, communicator, and the former Vice President of High Performance Leadership at Chick-fil-A. Mark’s leadership journey at Chick-fil-A spanned 45 years beginning as an hourly team member in a local restaurant, and during his tenure the company grew from seventy-five restaurants to over 2,700 locations with annual sales exceeding $19 billion. Today, Mark serves as the Co-Founder of Lead Every Day.

Married to Donna, his high school sweetheart of forty years, they have two sons, Justin and David, a daughter-in-law Lindsay, and three amazing grandchildren Addie, Logan, and Finn.

Dr. Ryan Rush grew up in Central Texas and after serving as senior pastor in Austin for a decade, Ryan and Lana were called to Kingsland as Senior Pastor in the spring of 2014. Throughout his ministry, Ryan has sensed a special burden to see homes transformed. He has hosted numerous radio and television programs on the subject of family life. He has authored three books. Home on Time: Life Management by the Book, Walls: Why Everybody's Stuck (and Nobody Has to Be), and Restore the Table.

Ryan and his wife Lana have been married since 1991 and have three daughters: Ryley, Reagan, and Lily. Lily’s unique cognitive and physical challenges have allowed the Rush Family new opportunities to depend on the Lord, and to witness glorious answers to prayer.

Dr. Rush serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Doctor of Ministry program at Dallas Theological Seminary. He is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and holds a PhD in Christian Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.

Janice Walker joined Advocate Health in 2024 as Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer – Southeast Region of Advocate Health.

She is responsible for providing strategic leadership for all nursing and other designated patient care functions and services for Atrium Health, which comprises the entirety of Advocate Health’s Southeast Region.

Janice leads more than 18,000 nurses at Atrium Health’s 40 hospitals and hundreds of care locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.

She has 25 years of experience in health care with progressive leadership roles as a Chief Nursing Officer and a Chief Operating Officer in for-profit and not-for-profit health care entities.

Her previous experience includes more than 13 years at Baylor Scott & White Health (BSW), and that is where I first met Janice. At BS&W she oversaw nursing, pharmacy, lab, radiology and Joint Commission/CMS accreditation/certification.

Jimmy Dorrell is Co-founder and President Emeritus of Mission Waco Mission World. After graduating from seminary in 1978, he and his wife Janet traveled the world to work among the poor. They then planted roots in North Waco, where they began their call to incarnational ministry: to live among the poor and help bring “good news” through relationships and empowerment opportunities. Dorrell’s passion for the poor and mobilizing the middle-class to become involved in the lives of the poor became the strategy for Mission Waco Mission World that continues today.

Dorrell has served as pastor of Church Under the Bridge since 1992 while also teaching classes at Baylor University and Truett Seminary in Waco.

Our guest today is Sharon Birkman. As the daughter of company founder and influential industrial-organizational psychologist Dr. Roger W. Birkman, Sharon cultivated her deep expertise in human perception and organizational behavior through her lifelong interest in The Birkman Method.

Sharon has been recognized with a multitude of awards, including EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year, the Women President’s Organization’s Mary Lehman MacLachlan Award, National Best and Brightest Places to Work For, and the Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award.

In addition to her responsibilities at Birkman, Sharon volunteers her services as a Board Member of Houston Public Media, Goodwill Industries of Houston, and a long-time Board member for ESCAPE Family Resource Center.
