Almost all of the key contributors have chosen to return, and especially coach Matt Campbell. The guys break down what it means, and how to prepare for an unprecedented season. It's not all good news on the Iowa State front. We react to the Xavier Foster news, and try to find something to look forward to with this men's basketball season. Fortunately, the Cyclone women are giving plenty of reasons for optimism. Lastly, Jared gives us a Cyclone history lesson, Dylan brings back the Nets Minute, and Austin's Bears are done. It's snowing outside, but the takes on this episode of the Litecast are hotter than ever. Austin, Matt, and Dylan share their holiday experiences and best snow day activities before previewing Iowa State's matchup with Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. What do fans need to know about this Oregon team? Should we expect a high or low scoring game? Will Oregon podcasters watch any Iowa State tape before the game? (Don't count on it). Strangely enough, before the Fiesta Bowl is the College Football Playoff semifinals so the guys break down what they expect to happen, and are we heading towards another championship game featuring Alabama and Clemson? After that, it's time to break down the best bets for bowl season as it continues to heat up. There were certainly some disagreements to be had. It's a full house on this week's Litecast, as Jared Larsen, Jake Brend, and Dylan Coon all join Austin to break down Iowa State's loss to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game. Brock Purdy may have struggled, and the Cyclones may have come up short, but it's hard to be discouraged, especially since the future of the program looks bright. But that's not all, as we had a bone to pick with national football writers, Indiana fans, and Coastal Carolina fans taking issue with Iowa State's standing in the New Year's 6. Also, Texas A&M fans needed to face the music with their exclusion from the College Football Playoff. This podcast wrapped up with our official 2021 NBA season preview, a Nets Minute from Dylan, and plenty of superlatives that we see playing out this season. Happy holidays to all of our listeners.
