Notes:

- We grow impatient with God taking matters into our own hands- God called Abram to leave his land. Wherever God took him, he built an altar and worshipped- Abram had a tent and an altar... a nomad, a foreigner...- When Abram arrived where God led him, he found trouble- With every promise there will be a problem- Trust God even in famine; stay where He appointed you- Abram went down to Egypt (world system) for help- Be prepared to wait on God- God tested the heart of Saul; Saul decided to do something himself- When we panic and act on fear we get less than God’s best

- When you go to Egypt you start scheming rather than trusting

Notes:

- Satan has been stripped of all his armor- We have been give authority to set the captives free- We're not fighting people; this is a battle between good and evil- Satan camouflages himself behind people ; there's an unseen force behind everything- Preachers, movements, ministries that target people... not the army of the Lord if operating in anger and disgust- We must operate in love; have a broken heart about people- For God to use us we must live a changed holy life- Offer self as a living sacrifice, be filled with Spirit of God, have faith- We don't know how prayer works be Jesus told us to pray- No situation is too hard for the Lord- He can but will he? He will do right an right on time.- God will help my faith; God is faithful.- It is our warfare; we are called to do battle

Notes:

- Satan, the strong man, fully armed, guards his dominion; he hates the church who threatens and is commissioned to war against him- We are to preach the gospel to the poor, have compassion towards people. We mustn’t war among ourselves- Proclaim liberty to captives, set oppressed free...- Go into all the world ( leave church building, enter Satan's house)- Christians rely too much on government... rights as Americans...- American Christianity stresses riches- Story: playing game with daughter... “start all over”... the devil tells people they can’t start over, but Jesus makes it possible- Faith without works is dead; we need a driving compassion for lost- I’m not a believer because somebody proved something to me- What are you doing that validates your faith? Work, involvement, cost; hope to hopeless, sight to blind, healing to broken hearted

- The enemy will never stop the church- Demons are the power behind idol gods- The worship of false gods is that of demons... any religion who doesn't recognize Jesus Christ centrally- Oprah is pushing demonology- Islam, Buddhism, Mormonism...- "Good things" won't save a soul. We must tell people they are lost and need a savior- Demons dwell in unbelievers, enslave and influence them- When anything gets control of our lives other than the Holy Spirit it is demonic... if something does not draw us closer to God- Everything we do has a consequence- Demons found in spiritism, magic, sorcery; Ouija board, video games- A married man should go home to his family... help out- Sexual invasion of the home... country- We have victory through Christ; David ran towards Goliath

Scripture: Psalm 19:12-13; I Corinthians 10:1-14

Topic: Sin

Notes:

- The Holy Spirit leads us away from compromising encounters- Obey God and be blessed; Disobey and consequences will follow- A Preacher rationalized that adultery gave him a testimony- Don't let me rationalize sin- Pray and put on armor daily or sins become easy and frequent- When we get bored with church/God it becomes easy to fall- Do not tempt Christ, living on the edge of sin- Do not grumble or complain- David wrestled with a weakness all his life; there is no temptation that is not common to man; we're all alike- If we don't change our ways, we will change our conscience; we need an awakening of fear- No one is tempted by God; we are tempted when drawn away by our own lust- Choose to flee as Joseph did from Potifer’s wife- Story of woman on plane...
