110925-0830-Loran Livingston - How Will You Finish? Sep 26, 2011
    Show notes

2011-09-25-0830 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning September 25th 2011 in the 8:30 service.

    Scripture: Acts 20:24; Galatians 1:6-8; 5:7; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Micah 6:8

    Topic: Focus

    Notes:

    - If your cause is not Jesus alone then you have lost your focus- Something will arise to snatch our attention away from Jesus- Your faith is not supposed to be complicated-you’ve lost focus- Happiness is in the grace of God alone; you’re missing the joy of the journey- People get bent out of shape over current events, gays, liberals...- People don’t want what you have; Jesus gives peace and joy- Don’t be satisfied with a little- When first saved there was only one book that mattered; I wanted Jesus, was praying and reading, not looking for another rally or seminar- Christian authors don’t agree with one another- We substitute study for prayer- Authors write but have no experience with people- Most scholars are deficient in prayer; knowledge puffs up, love builds up- It doesn’t really matter when Jesus is coming back: live right and love God- Know Him not so I can prove a point but to live in the power of the resurrection

110918-1800-Loran Livingston - The Lord Will Wait Sep 19, 2011
    Show notes

2011-09-18-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening September 18th, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture: Isaiah 30:18-20; 64:4-5; John 11:15

    Topic: Waiting on God

    Notes:

    - God will never adjust His timing to your life or prayer- Prayer is not to get God to do something but to allow Him to do something in you- Wait for Him as He waits to bless you- “water of affliction” and “bread of adversity” to make you depend on God- God waits till we’re at the end of the road with nowhere to go- God waits but is never late- As long as your prayers have a deadline they are fleshly prayers- Waiting room of doctor’s office... just because you made an appointment doesn’t mean you’ll be seen when you think you will- God acts for the one who waits for Him- You will never understand the ways of God- God does everything according to His own will- Surrender, trust God; you’ll have to turn off the TV, make some sacrifices

    Scripture: Romans 2:11, 28-29; 9:6-7; Acts 10:34-35; James 2:1-9; Matthew 25:35-46

    Topic: Evangelism

    Notes:

    - God shows no favoritism; whoever calls on His name is accepted- Our calling is to preach the gospel, make disciples; if you do not share Jesus then you do not have the Holy Ghost- We are not to love one group more than another; we cannot choose who to give the gospel to; anybody who needs my help is my neighbor- Jonah hated the Ninevites; God’s love is not up to you- The Jews felt they were the chosen of God and would not associate with anyone else- Unbelieving Israel hurting believing Arabs; I don’t have to support an unrighteous nation: nations and governments are called to support Israel, not individuals- When you are chosen you proclaim the light, obey and serve God (apostles)- You must be born again; not a Jew who is outwardly but inwardly- Margaret Gaines excerpt on rebuilding the temple- Serbs, in the name of Christianity, murdering Bosnians who never heard the gospel- People so happy about Jesus but disinterested in people without Jesus...

2011-09-11-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning September 11th 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: Genesis 6:5-12, 22; Matthew 24:36-39; Hebrews 11:7’ I John 3:1-3; Romans 1:18

    Topic: Obedience

    Notes:

    - We are living in days just like those of Noah; these are signs of the times but nobody knows the day or hour; live as it could happen at any moment- We ought to be in church, ministry, the Word, prayer; don’t get loose or comfortable- Godly fear is lacking in the church today- Noah prepared, built and preached. Preparation is constant.- We get used to disobedience then can’t figure why we can’t get a prayer through- We must be obedient; stay in preparation.- Obedience condemns the world, not in a hateful, self-righteous way (Christians at the gay pride parade). That’s not Jesus.- You can’t hide being a Christian in the world; living right exposes sin.- Christians have mixed into scripture philosophy, religion, evolution... faith(s)... there is only one body, one spirit, one faith. Everything else is religion or cult- Without Jesus you will die and go to hell- Science should not be necessary to validate your faith; it’s true because God says it.- Through scripture, God gives insights into any question you can ask... creation, origin of man, races, etc.

    Scripture: Lamentations 3:25, 26, 28; John 6; Habakkuk 2:2

    Topic: Waiting on God

    Notes:

    - Testimony: Lisa Starnes- We don’t know how to wait past the mental struggle, feelings, the temporal...- Waiting on God is difficult but brings the greatest reward- Division of the tabernacle: outer court, inner court, most holy place- Too many live in the outer court, some live in inner court, only a few go deeper...- Disciples who heard Jesus say “eat my flesh, drink my blood” went away; 70 worked for Him, 12 walked with Him, 3 worshipped Him, but only John waited on Him- Do I just want to work, walk or worship or can I be so close I can feel His love, peace, calm, assurance- You can’t make God work; can’t make yourself grow in Christ; He grows you- Those who wait on the Lord are never disappointed, they hear from Him, have faith and have shown great faith

    Scripture: Colossians 3:1-4; 2:3; I John 4:15; John 17; Psalm 83:3

    Topic: Assurance

    Notes:

    - Man was designed to trust God; after sin entered, man began to rely on feelings first, doubting the facts- Sin is processing your life through your senses- Our first reaction to a problem is to try something; should be to trust something- Feelings are the most sinful thing, the most unreliable factor in human existence- God does not react to feelings; He is moved by faith- Salvation is not a feeling; we’re saved by grace through faith- Regardless of feeling we must believe we are saved- Feelings have nothing to do with your relationship with God- God sent the savior, then gave you the power and faith to go to Him- Every gift from God is eternal; salvation is eternal- We are the Father’s gift to the Son; the Son is the Father’s gift to us- We can never change who our parents are; your heritage is in your blood/DNA- We are hidden in Christ and Christ in the Father

    Show notes

2011-08-28-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening August 28th, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture:I

    Topic: Prayer

    Notes:

    - We ask for small things; God delights in giving to His children- If we ask in faith, we can expect God to do something- We become more enchanted with the written than the Living Word; - More intellectual than spiritual; obsessed with the future while wasting the present- I want to finish my years pastoring as I started, on my face and caring for the flock- Are we limiting God? We know with our minds, but our hearts can go beyond anything our minds can imagine; guard your heart- Israel limited God... comfortable with what God had already done, but not with what he could do, never expecting a miracle- We ought to be asking for what sounds preposterous- We pray for what we think we need; God knows what we really need and wants to bless us with His goodness- We ask God for childish things and then run on; we need to wait on God- Praying & studying is a means to a relationship with God, but can get in the way- Until we wait patiently we will never know the secrets He has in store...
