    Show notes

2011-12-04-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning December 4th 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: John 10:10; Luke 9:51-56; I Corinthians 13:1-8

    Topic: Purpose

Notes:- Whatever you’re facing now is temporary and should not steal your joy- Jesus has victory over every earthly problem.- Part of the abundant life is contentment- Either He is in control or He isn’t- Nothing on earth is permanent except your relationship with God- When you try to change things, even through prayer, nothing works... until you ask God to change you (reference to Della in staff meeting)- My business is to see God in everything and to love people- We think everyone should do it like we do, act as we do... Jesus didn’t call us to decide who should live or die, or who is saved or lost, but to tell of the love of God- Jesus did not come to condemn but to save- Love is a decision, not a feeling... the most powerful thing in the world- Story of nephew on drugs, on the street... be willing to go after somebody when everyone else has given up- Love never gives up

    Show notes

2011-11-27-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning November 27th 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: I Timothy 6:17; Habakkuk 3:17-19

    Topic: Suffering

    Notes:

    - God doesn't want us to be so isolated we don't enjoy anything - God did not put us here to improve the world but to invite people out of the world an into the kingdom - Christian activism is not the call of the church; we are to be a light, not enforcer - Habakkuk asks "Why don't you answer my prayers" and "Are you not in control of everything?" - Your answer is at the appointed time. Trust Him and you will find He does answer and is in charge of everything - If you trust God you will see it come to pass - Your situation has nothing to do with your relationship to God - We're supposed to be happy because we are His children; rejoice in the Lord - If you call yourself a Christian, your life ought to be an enjoyable life - Hog hunting in Alabama... man almost died from tick bite - Your home is in more danger from a termite than a tornado - Satan uses ticks and termites, small things that will grow... like bitterness - Christian suffering is a process that brings us closer to Christ - No one gets away with anything

Seeks someone from the house of Saul to honor... finds Mephibosheth at age 17, shows grace to him- Accept God’s grace and give it away- Pure religion is to look after those in need, care for yourself and one another- Conviction will either make you a better person or bring you down

Notes:- Jesus invited to Simon’s (a Pharisee) house, set up to be humiliated- Woman with alabaster jar, weeping because of the way Jesus was being treated... washed and anointed Jesus, breaking the rules by being there, touching a man, and by letting down her hair- Jesus forgave her sins. She was willing to humiliate herself to say to Him “all I want is you; I give all of me to you.”- If you don’t think you were that bad to start with then you won’t be that committed- Realize He did it, you can’t raise yourself and you won’t hold anything back- Jesus doesn’t care what you’ve done; Jesus became the savior of the woman who had nowhere else to go

    Scripture: Luke 13:10-13

    Topic: Spiritual Warfare

Notes:- When the enemy comes in, like a flood the spirit of the Lord will raise up...- We have the mindset of holding ground instead of taking ground- We are already victorious- Woman bound up with the spirit of infirmity for 18 years. Something demonic had taken hold in her life- When wrapped up in spiritual bandage you cannot raise yourself up- When Jesus speaks, people are set free

    Scripture: Matthew 14:24-33; Hebrews 8:8-9

    Topic: Faith

Notes:- Jesus walking on water in storm; Peter walked out to meet Him- If you only accept the logical you will never see Jesus- Nothing pleases God except your faith in Him- Miracles happen all the time; it’s not only the fantastic things- What God did for Israel: chose Abraham, lead people into Egypt, 70 grew to 2 million who became slaves... God took them by the hand and led them out- He took us by the hand and led us out. Had to be dragged out of Egypt, but thank God He did it.- Lot... God would not send destruction till he was out- If He leads you out He can lift you up- Disciples saw Jesus on the water and were troubled, cried out in fear- Peter walked out with eyes on Jesus; when your eyes are on Jesus you don’t see anything else- Peter was distracted by the winds and took his eyes off Jesus, feared filled the void of faith and he began to sink- After every spiritual victory there is a sinking- We ought to go to church to get strong- If Peter had stayed in the boat he wouldn’t have a testimony
