Catie and Erik's Infinite Quest: An ADHD Adventure

Latest Episodes:

Detention and Girl Scouts Mar 07, 2023

Show notes

In this episode of Infinite Quest, Cate and Erik return from an ADHD-detail induced overwhelm hiatus and *ease* back into Infinite Quest by performing what Cate is pretty sure are two Infinite Quest firsts, back to back, neither of which are what we'd call "family friendly". Cate tells the story of her once-arch-nemesis, and Erik spends most of the podcast in detention.

D*cks on the Moon Feb 16, 2023

Show notes

In this episode, Cate and Erik sit down (finally) get back down to Infinite Quest business with a very meandering episode. Cate has anxiety about meandering and Erik has *feelings*, and we discuss the pros and cons of drawing genitalia on various planetary bodies and how sometimes being honest can be a bit messy.

ADHD & Hygiene Pt 1: Tasks Add Up Jan 11, 2023

Show notes

In part one of this two-part episode, Cate and Erik sit down to talk about some of the more difficult and stigmatized issues that face ADHDers, in particular, hygiene. Showering, teeth brushing, cleaning our kitchens- all of those are tasks that require executive function (and, in Cate's case, working anti-depressants) to happen, which is NOT happening for us this week. Also Cate makes Infinite Quest history by being the first person to say "stinky butthole" on the podcast.

"Burnt" Sucked And Here's Why Dec 16, 2022

Show notes

Just to be clear, you do not have to have seen Burnt to enjoy this episode, but it helps. In this episode, Cate and Erik sit down to make a podcast and accidentally wind up making one about how much they hated Netflix's 'Burnt', starring Bradley Cooper, who is a very good actor in a very, very bad movie. Erik unpacks toxic masculinity and the expectations put on men in media and Cate spends a weird amount of time yelling about how shitty it is to put rats in someone's restaurant which honestly isn't something we feel like needs to be said, but here we are.

Cate Runs A Mile Dec 15, 2022

Show notes

In this episode, Cate and Erik sit down to talk about ADHD and changes to routine but in all honesty it kind of turns into a weird conversation about how bad Cate is at going to the gym and why. We discuss the challenges of neurodivergency in the very public arena of gym-going and how a single task can suddenly become a stack of 50 with little warning.

Compounding Complications and ADHD Nov 29, 2022

Show notes

In this episode, Cate and Erik sit down to discuss the challenges of challenges becoming more challenging challenges by way of compounding complications. It makes more sense when you listen. Shout Out to Onfim! Nov 17, 2022

Show notes

This was SUPPOSED to be an episode about finishing things, but turned into... not that. Erik talks about his insecurities around libraries and Cate decides to go live with Jeremy Irons. Have fun!

Clutter? I hardly know her. Nov 15, 2022

Show notes

In this episode, Cate and Erik come clean (get it? See what I did there?) about the role that mess & clutter play in their lives. They talk about the thought process that keeps clutter happening and what it's like to live in the liminal space of "all or nothing thinking". Cate also spends a weird amount of time talking about "aesthetic". Not a lot of solutions in this one, but a lot of honesty around ADHD and mess.

Bed-idsode: Hyperfixations Nov 10, 2022

Show notes

In this from-the-bed episode, Cate says "horny" a record number of times in a single podcast and also Erik talks about chemistry and how it led him to the perfect pesto recipe. They discuss how hyperfixations have shaped their past, present and future and set out to share their favorite hyperfixations, but, like most episodes, don't exactly get to the point.
