Hey, Carpool Crew! 🎒 Whether you’re zipping up that new backpack, sliding into fresh school shoes, or finishing your last sip of chocolate milk, we’re kicking off Season Two of Carpooling with Jesus strong!

Today’s episode is all about courage for the first day of school (or any new adventure). What would Jesus say if He was riding shotgun with you? Our verse comes from Joshua 1:9 — “Be strong and courageous; don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua needed that reminder when facing something new and scary, and so do we! Jesus would tell you: “I’m with you. You’re not alone. You don’t have to be perfect — just show up with kindness and courage.”

In this episode, you’ll learn:

A simple prayer to say before class when you’re nervous.
How to use Joshua 1:9 as a powerful reminder of God’s presence.
Why helping others feel brave actually grows courage in you too.

Today, we’re talking about something super important as we head back into the school year: obedience. It’s easy to get tired of hearing “brush your teeth” and “pack your bag,” but did you know even Jesus obeyed His parents?

We’re looking at Luke 2:51 (CSB):
"Then he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them."
Even though Jesus was God’s Son, wiser than anyone, and totally perfect—He still chose to obey Mary and Joseph. Why? Because obedience is love in action.

Let’s follow in Jesus' footsteps—when your parents ask for help, when they set boundaries, or remind you to do something, you can respond with love—just like He did.

📖 Ephesians 6:1 says, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right.”
The Apostle Paul wrote this to remind kids (yes, you!) that how you treat your parents matters to God. Obedience shows trust—not just in your parents, but in Jesus.

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and don’t reject your mother’s teaching.”

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you’re zipping up your new backpack or licking syrup off your fork—I’m Pastor Justin, and I’m so glad you’re here for this special Saturday episode of Carpooling with Jesus.

Today, we’re flipping the idea of greatness upside down—just like Jesus did. You’ve probably heard things like, “Be the best this year!” But Jesus says something way better: Be someone who serves.

In Mark 10:45, Jesus tells His disciples:
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…”
That means the greatest person isn’t the one with the biggest trophy—it’s the one who helps without needing applause.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

What happened when James and John asked for top seats in heaven
How Jesus redefined greatness in His Kingdom
Simple ways you can serve others at home, school, or anywhere—even if no one sees

✨ Holding the door.
✨ Clearing the table.
✨ Including someone.

All of it counts in God’s eyes.

Bottom line: You don’t have to be the best to be great.

Today we’re talking about something Jesus said that might surprise you: you don’t have to wait until you’re older to do something great. That’s right—Jesus believes in kids right now. In Matthew 18:3, He said we need to become like children to enter the kingdom of heaven. That means your faith, your heart, and your kindness matter today—not “someday.”

Jesus doesn’t need you to be taller, older, or more popular to use you in amazing ways. He’s ready to use your life, your words, and your heart—right now.

Today’s episode is all about remembering to ask Jesus for help—especially as things start to get busy with school right around the corner. When we feel nervous, left out, or unsure of what to do next, we don’t have to handle it all alone.

We’re looking at John 14:13 (CSB):
“Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it.”
Jesus told His disciples that they could always talk to Him—even after He went to the cross. And that same promise is true for you today. No matter what you’re going through, Jesus is ready to listen, help, and walk through it with you.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

Why prayer is more than just for big problems
What Jesus would say if He were sitting beside you
Real ways you can talk to Him every day

Remember: There’s no prayer too small. If it matters to you, it matters to Jesus.
