Episode 136 - Shade Whitesel - Sport Dog Training - Less Pressure, More Clarity Oct 04, 2026

Show notes

This is a great chat for anyone interested in Sport Protection Training. Shade Whitesel has competed in Schutzhund / IGP for close to 30 years. She is a crossover trainer who has found an approach that promotes a more rewarding / positive experience for the dogs she trains. **I'm seeing this as a common thread in many highly talented trainers.

In this podcast we discuss what made her change training theories and the successes she's seen throughout this journey.

***** The Training Event Discussed in this Podcast:

THE USCA Southwest Region - Regional Training Event December 19 & 20, 2026 register by clicking here:

https://forms.gle/w5BK2vfiBTVe6tJv9

This is not a "purely positive" podcast, it is instead an open look at what we can do to provide the best training for our dogs. There is no agenda of who is a better trainer or what training ideology is best - it's an honest conversation between two dog trainers who openly and honestly discuss training combining close to 50 years of experience.

Any trainer or dog lover can take some valuable points away from this conversation and we hope you do!

Enjoy!

Episode 134 - The Future of Healing Dogs - Dr. Jaime Pickett May 29, 2026

Show notes

Dog training, veterinary medicine, and holistic healing collide in this powerful conversation. My dog's health is so important to me... I consider so many things including diet, exercise, activities and so much more in an effort to give my dog not only a long life, but a better quality of life as well.

Because of that I will try to focus more on things we can do to improve our dogs' lives when it comes to health and wellness. I've recently begun using the EQUUSIR bio mat EMF pad. I have seen my dogs relaxing more and enjoying the rejuvenation on it. I wasn't sure what exactly all of the features and benefits of it were so I invited Dr. Jaime Picket DVM to discuss it. Dr Jaime is a veterinary doctor and also the veterinary representative for EQUUSIR.

We discussed the medical benefits on this podcast and I w as surprised to learn even more about EMF Therapy and how it can help our dogs. When I find products that I love and use regularly I like to partner with these select companies in order to bring more awareness to their brands and also to help my viewers learn more.

So I'm happy to be an ambassador to EQUUSIR. You can use my code to purchase the blanket below. Use my code CABRAL10 and save 10% off of your purchase.

Episode 133 - If Dogs Could Talk with Jamie Penrith May 04, 2026

Show notes

Undoubtedly one of my favorite people to talk with is Jamie Penrith. He's a fantastic human and a great dog trainer, a dog trainer who loves dogs and cares deeply about their well-being. We've been friends for many years and I am lucky to consider him a friend.

He is among the best spoken people on the topic of dog training and has the chops to match it. Watch his videos and then sign up for his online training at: https://taketheleadtraining.co.uk

Jamie has led a tireless fight for the rights of dog owners to train their dogs their way. This has been part of the foundation of ARDO (the Association of Responsible Dog Owners). He has appeared on many TV shows educating the public on fair dog training. Beyond that he is a gentleman and a scholar, a skilled dogman and a guy I respect very much.

I hope you'll enjoy this chat. Be sure to subscribe to this channel for more great content for dog lovers. If you'd like to learn more about my online programs and more, check out my website: https://robertcabral.com

Episode 132 - Malinois Gone Wrong Apr 27, 2026

Show notes

This was never planned to be a podcast, but I was so s tricked by the questions Fabian asked me, I felt compelled to share it with everyone. Fabian Alvidrez reached out to me to ask me some questions about a journalism project he is doing for TCU, Texas Christian University. His questions were really deep and important for others to hear, so I'm glad he agreed to let me use this Q&A as a podcast.

A little about Fabian: Fabian is a senior Journalism major and Kinesiology minor from Texas Christian University. A lifelong outdoorsman who practices fly fishing, traditional fishing, hunting and rock climbing. Before University he worked as a ranch hand for his father who is a horse trainer and raised his brothers and him around live stock. He also served a little over four years as a U.S Marine with two deployments.

This is where he was first introduced to Belgian Malinois I hope you'll enjoy this chat and it will provoke more conversation on helping people better understand the Belgian Malinois.

Episode 130 - Jason Purgason IACP President - Dog Trainers Unite Jun 19, 2025

Show notes

If you love dogs and are working in any capacity with dogs such as a dog trainer, boarding, grooming, a dog walker or most anything else, listen to the message in this podcast.

The IACP is an organization that helps all dog professionals... yes, all of them no matter their ideals or methodologies. It's an organization that cares about dogs and the future of caring for them, not any political agenda.

I've been a member for many years and support IACP.

Jason is the president of the IACP and we delve into the future of dog training and dog trainers with the current attacks on certain dog trainers that don't follow the very politically charged agenda. We talk about the benefits of coming together for the dogs and how we could all lose if the radical ideology wins.

Episode 128 - German Shepherds, Jealousy and Loving Life - Avi Cohen - BEING AVI Oct 23, 2024

Show notes

It's always great to have Avi over and just talk. We never know where the conversation is gonna go and those are my favorite chats. I don't like scripted questions, I believe they make for phony interviews.

Now-a-days everyone has a podcast, so I decided to back off on mine. My goal is to only share interesting conversations with people, the kind of conversations I'd like to listen to.. not just a talk to talk.

We talked about his dog ORKAN, training, competing and his new endeavor in dog training equipment including the AC STICK. I think you'll like this chat, Avi is a favorite guest because I think our conversations are raw and real. I'm providing links to Avi's socials below as well as the AC STICK he mentions...

Episode 127 - It's All About the DOG - Oscar Mora May 23, 2024

Show notes

There are so many things Oscar and I cover in this podcast that your head will spin. From the top level competitive training to dangerous and deadly dogs.

Oscar Mora is back and we have a lot to talk about. Oscar and I have been training together and filming together for a new project that will be out in the next couple of months. Besides that Oscar has been a huge help with my new puppy Schmuley and for that I am very grateful.

Oscar is not only a GREAT dog trainer, but a man of his word, a man of high character and a good friend.... even though I'm old enough to be his dad! LOL!

We talk about Malinois, protection dogs, sport dogs, Corsos and just about every other dog - and the conversation could go on forever! I respect Oscar's training approach as well as his character as a decent man... a family man, a competitor and a friend.
