Hello listeners! And we are back with a new episode after a two-week vacation. This episode was a challenging one to edit due to the location where we recorded. Thank you for understanding that the audio quality of this episode is not the best.
Our guest, on the other hand, is incredible. On Being a Lawyer and Artist with Carolina Rubio MacWright Jun 28, 2017
    Show notes

Hello listenters! This week we had a conversation with Carolina Rubio MacWright.
Carolina was born in Bogota, Colombia, where she lived until age 20, when a need for a safer place to call home was necessary. She went to art school but after graduation, she felt the need to understand the legal system, at which point she moved to Oklahoma City where she became a lawyer. Her time in Oklahoma's legal world opened her eyes to the realities of the broken American legal system as well as the immigration law system.
Carolina is currently an activist mixing law and art and engaging her immigrant community by empowering them with knowledge. Since the elections, she has been working harder with different organization like momsrising, chashama arts and her local counsel members.
We talked about her life in Colombia, her experience with being a young Latina lawyer, the workshops that she's hosting for immigrant moms and how the current immigration system is breaking families and traumatizing thousands of people, all while drinking coffee of course.

    OMG It's Eddie G! - Part 1 Jun 21, 2017
    Show notes

Hi listeners! This week we sat down with Eddie G at a coffee shop in San Diego and we explored his story.
Carve out some time for this one as Eddie and Pam dive in to multiple conversations at once, clearly showing what it's like to be in the brain of two people that think really fast (or what doctors say ADD).
We talked about leaving Corporate America, the funny story of how we met and multiple lessons that he's learned after he decided to follow his passion to create videos.
Because of the length of this episode, Tiburcio will come in a separate episode later this week.
Shoutout to Cafe Calabria in San Diego, CA for providing their space for this episode.

La Comadre Pansha with Juana Gallo Jun 07, 2017
    Show notes

Hello listeners! Here we are at episode 34 and this time we had a conversation with Juana Gallo who is Writer, Actress, and she's pursuing her Graduate Degree in History, Juana is a border-bicultural girl with a global mindset. Juana has contributed to multiple popular social media outlets such as TeleSur English, We Are Mitu and Travel Latina as a writer, talent and producer, and as writer and talent local tv shows in San Diego such as Tonight in san Diego and The Gloria Gold Show. She is also a cotton candy preacher and tamarindo lover.
Also, we had a conversation with La Comadre Pansha, a character that Juana performs. Pansha is a “mother, comadre and friend” of anyone who likes to gossip and can handle unasked advice. She believes she should belong to a higher socialite class even though her pink lipstick sometimes brushes her teeth. She sees the wrong in everything that is not traditional and conventional in everyone but herself, and will try to “fix” you in a motherly way if she is not too tipsy. She is catholic and cares about style and superficialities, but often will surprise you as she is discovering new places, people and cultures. After all, mothers always know best, especially her.
This was such a fun episode, we talked about being woke, feminism, and Pansha me regano as usual for my feminist views. Let us know what you think!
