Penn State’s Rocco Becht Turns the Ball Over Three Times in Loss to Michigan Oct 18, 2026

Show notes

It was another Big Ten slugfest for Penn State football, and once again, Penn State didn’t execute well enough to get the win. The Nittany Lions fell to Michigan after a 14-point third-quarter surge by the Wolverines put the game out of reach for the struggling Penn State offense. Starting quarterback Rocco Becht threw two costly interceptions that led to two Michigan touchdowns. The team is now 3-4 and heads into its bye week to lick its wounds.

Penn State Wrestling 2026-27 Schedule Breakdown and U23 Worlds Preview Oct 15, 2026

Penn State wrestling is 27 days from its opener. On this week’s Penn State wrestling show, Thomas Frank and BWI wrestling reporter Greg Pickel look ahead to the U23 World Championships and break down the 2026-27 schedule.

U23 Worlds

Jayden James wrestles at 74kg for Team USA. He is taking a gap year and training with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club.

Luke Lilledahl, the defending U23 world champion, is the favorite at 57kg.

Joe Seeley moves up to 79kg as a late addition to the roster.

2026-27 schedule

The nonconference slate opens with Bloomsburg at Rec Hall and includes a return trip to Oklahoma, Lehigh, and West Virginia at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Army Black Knight Invite is Nov. 22.

The Journeyman Collegiate Wrestling Duals move to Binghamton on Dec. 20.

The Big Ten opener is Jan. 9 at Rutgers. Iowa visits the BJC on Feb. 5, and Penn State heads to Ohio State on Feb. 12.

The Penn State football team felt like it was in the game for most of the night. However, that feeling vanished in the fourth quarter as the team lost to USC 31-23 in front of a sold-out White Out crowd.
