Show notes
Are you ready for some football? With sky-high expectations, the Buffalo Bills kick off the 2020 NFL season Sunday hosting the New York Jets, and on the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D’Amico have everything you need to get ready for the Bills season opener.
Boccacino and D’Amico analyze the state of the Jets, who are being run by new general manager Joe Douglas, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles. We break down the key offseason additions and notable subtractions for the Jets, who will feature four new starters on the offensive line, led by mammoth rookie left tackle Mekhi Becton. Like the Bills, the Jets have a third-year quarterback, but unlike Allen, Darnold doesn’t have much in the way of offensive weapons. We discuss what grade Darnold has earned during his first two seasons in the league.
Our game preview then breaks down how Buffalo’s new-look offense will attack the Jets defense, why Darnold should be in for a long day, why Buffalo’s wide receivers and cornerbacks should have a field day, how much pressure the Bills offensive line is facing heading into Allen’s third year as a starter, whether running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss can have success in the ground game against a stout Jets defensive line, how big of an impact the loss of safety Jamal Adams and linebacker C.J. Mosley will have on the Jets defense, then offer up score predictions for the opener.
