Basketball season is over for Ohio State and spring football practice resumes this week for the Buckeyes. What does Chris Holtmann need to accomplish in 2022-23 in order to get the fans on his side?

On the football front, this will be the week when the Buckeyes start implementing schematic changes on both sides of the ball; mostly on defense of course. But there will be tweaks on offense as well with Justin Frye now leading the offensive line.

It is equal parts Ohio State basketball and football on today's show as Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle. The Buckeyes received a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play 10th-seeded Loyola-Chicago in the first round on Friday at 12:15 p.m. ET. Is it a difficult matchup for OSU? Yes. But that would have been the case when facing any of the 10 seeds in this year's Big Dance. Also:

* Why are the Buckeyes such a poor defensive basketball team?

After JSN, who is Buckeyes' best WR? | Hoops squad in freefall mode Mar 11, 2022

There is much to discuss on the Ohio State football front as Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle for his usual Friday visit. The Buckeyes kicked off spring ball this week and much was gleaned.

* Unfortunately, we have to start with some bad news as offensive lineman Harry Miller announced on Thursday he is retiring from football. Miller revealed he has been battling depression and had suicidal thoughts. We obviously wish the young man nothing but the best. He is an excellent person who does a lot of charity work, and we just hope he is able to get his mental health where it needs to be.

* On Thursday, the media interviewed Ohio State's running backs and wide receivers. Regarding the WRs, other than Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is the best wideout on the squad? Is it Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka or Julian Fleming?

* How excited are we about the RB tandem of TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams? Hint: extremely. Also, Henderson made headlines yesterday when he let it slip that he played with a concussion during the 2021 season. JBook is perplexed why Henderson would say that to the media.

* How excited are we about OSU's men's basketball team? Hint: not at all. The Buckeyes have managed to suffer recent losses against the likes of Maryland, Nebraska, Michigan ... and now Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament last night. Talk about a freefall at the worst possible time. They'll still make the NCAA Tournament, but they might be a No. 9 seed and could easily be one-and-done for the second consecutive year.
