Buckeyes with third-best odds to win national title | McClain start of barrage of defensive commits? Jun 13, 2023

Who are the 12 teams in order that have a chance at winning the 2023 college football national championship and where does Ohio State fit in with the group? Well, according to various sportsbooks, the Buckeyes have the third-best odds to win the national title at 7/1. First is Georgia at +230. Next is Alabama at +550. Teams 4-12 include Michigan (9/1 odds), LSU and USC (14/1), Clemson (17/1), Florida State (18/1), Penn State (20/1), Texas (30/1), followed by Notre Dame and Tennessee (35/1).

Dave Biddle is joined by special guest Mark Neal on today’s show to discuss that, look deeper at the Buckeyes’ 2023 roster and more. Mark is the former sports director/programming director at WING 1410 in Dayton, hosted a long-running local sports show and was also the co-host of Bucknuts Live on Sunday mornings. Mark now lives in Minneapolis with his wife.

Can Frye reel in nation's No. 1 OT recruit? | Latest on Lightfoot, Rudolph Jun 12, 2023

The country's No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 class -- Brandon Baker from Santa Ana, Calif. -- made his official visit to Ohio State this past weekend and it went well. Dave Biddle flies solo on today's show to give details on where the Buckeyes stand with Baker and whether Justin Frye can reel in his first elite prospect. Also on tap:

* The No. 6 edge rusher in the country in the 2024 class -- Marquise Lightfoot -- also made his official visit to OSU this past weekend. It went so well that Bill Kurelic dropped in a Crystal Ball prediction in the Buckeyes' favor. You know what that means.

* Also making an official visit to OSU this past weekend was 3-star DT Jayden Jackson from IMG Academy. He absolutely loved his visit.

* The No. 20 edge rusher in the country -- Elias Rudolph -- is scheduled to make his official visit to Ohio State this coming weekend. It appears to be an Ohio State-Michigan battle, and the good news for the Buckeyes is Kurelic has CB'd Rudolph to Larry Johnson and the Buckeyes.

* Speaking of Johnson, is he about to prove all his naysayers wrong who claiming the game -- including recruiting -- has passed him by?

* Which of Ohio State's "late" enrollees from the 2023 class can perhaps have an impact this season for the Buckeyes? Could someone like Brandon Inniss get on the field? What about cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt, defensive lineman Jason Moore or someone else?
