Jim Knowles and the Ohio State defense had been among the very best in the nation through five games of the 2024 season, but when they traveled west to take on the Oregon Ducks, things went bad pretty quickly.
Oregon rolled up 32 points and nearly 500 yards of total offense - at 7.6 yards per play - to hand the Buckeyes their first loss of the year. And while fans were quick to point a finger at a few specific plays and players, as always, the true cause of the issues was complicated.

But Saturday night in the Horseshoe, the Buckeye line dominated Tennessee in a 42-17 win to set up a Rose Bowl rematch against the Oregon Ducks.

After decades of hypotheticals, a touted SEC team finally had to travel north to Columbus, Ohio to play a meaningful game in midwestern December weather.
Less than one quarter into the game, Ohio State was up, 21-0 on Tennessee, and Buckeye fans had a sarcastic "S-E-C! S-E-C!" chant rolling around the stadium.
The first-ever College Football Playoff inside the Horseshoe couldn't have gone much better for Ohio State, as they rolled to a 42-17 win over the Volunteers that wasn't nearly as close as the score might indicate.

In this episode of the Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning podcast, you'll hear from Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel, quarterback Nico Iamaleava, and safety Will Brooks about the challenge and the opportunity ahead for the Volunteers this weekend.

How Big Of A Concern Is The Ohio State Offensive Line? Dec 18, 2024
    Show notes

Wednesday afternoon, Ryan Day met with the media for the final time before Saturday's prime time College Football Playoff showdown against Tennessee, and there are still some significant questions lingering for the Buckeyes.
Day discussed the fact that they were still practicing three players at two guard spots; Luke Montgomery, Austin Siereveld, and Tegra Tshabola. This is obviously a lot closer to game time than you typically see a positional battle going on this time of year, so how big of a concern is that?
Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss that, and other things they learned from Day.
