Malevolent Oct 12, 2020

Show notes

This week on Bottom of the Stream we are right in Adam’s wheelhouse and going spooky as we talk about the 2018 Netflix original movie Malevolent. Starring Florence Pugh; Ben Lloyd-Hughes and Celia Imrie, this is a British haunted house tale where a group of wannabe ghost-hunters may be taking on more than they bargained for. Listen on to hear what we thought of this one, it’s really weird.

Also this week, with the news breaking of the untimely cancellation of Glow, we talk about the surprisingly low number of Netflix original series that have made it to a fourth season (seriously, it’s really small). We also have the usual mix of news and round up what we have been watching at the top of the stream

As always there are SPOILERS ahead so if that sort of thing bothers you please watch the film before you listen.

Gantz:O S3e20 Aug 10, 2020

Show notes

This week on Bottom of the Stream we are popping Adam’s anime cherry as we talk about 2016 Japanese movie and Nick’s wildcard choice: “Gantz:O”. This is an ultra violent; ultra stylised; sci-fi animation, pitting a team of previously deceased citizens against an invading force of aliens (not monsters) in near future Osaka. If that sentence isn’t enough to sell you on this episode then we also have a round up of Netflix news, some nerdy statistics and talk about what we have been watching at the top of the stream. We have the usual weekly trivia battle and Adam ponders a return to watching movies in an actual, real life cinema.
