    Ep114: Terminal Interment, pt2 Jun 20, 2018
    Show notes

"I have come here from my city, I have descended from my nome; I have built a house, set up (its) doors, I have dug a pool, planted sycamores. The king praised me, My father made a will for me. I was one worthy --- One beloved of his father, Praised by his mother, Whom all his brothers loved. I gave bread to the hungry, Clothing to the naked, I brought the boatless to land. O you who live upon earth, Who shall pass by this tomb Going north or going south, Who shall say: "a thousand loaves and beer jugs For the owner of this tomb," I shall watch over them in the necropolis. I am an excellent equipped spirit (akh), A lector-priest who knows his speech. As for any man who enters this tomb unclean, I shall seize him by the neck like a bird, He will be judged for it by the great god! I was one who spoke fairly, who repeated what was liked, I never spoke evilly against any man to his superior, Never did I judge between two [contenders] In a manner which deprived a son of his father's legacy. Harkhuf" ― Miriam Lichtheim, Ancient Egyptian Literature: Volume I: The Old and Middle Kingdoms

    Ep112: Gravers is Vultures, pt2 Jun 06, 2018
    Show notes

"In his dream she was sick and he cared for her. The dream bore the look of sacrifice but he thought differently. He did not take care of her and she died alone somewhere in the dark and there is no other dream nor other waking world and there is no other tale to tell." ― Cormac McCarthy, The Road

A small band of children huddle in a graveyard on the outskirts of a city fallen to ruin.

To learn more about how Children of the Fall is played check out our primer episode.

    The Tribe:

•An Unnamed group of about 13 children, a medium sized tribe, with no clear leader.

•Two months after the fall the tribe is holed up in a graveyard outside Indianapolis.

•They have an abundance of shelter, building material and tool. There is a dearth of food.

•In the short-term Tornado season is approaching, it is dangerous even with shelter, and with food in short supply they can't easily just hunker down. In the long-term the larger will supplied rural tribes, further out from the city could swoop in to do the tribe harm.

•The graveyard sits to the east of the city, between the graveyard and the city is a major big-box store. To the immediate east of the graveyard is a river or canal. To the north is a large forested area, and to the south a road that leads from town and out into the countryside.

    The Mission:

•A Project to build up a Tornado Shelter & supply it.

•Tornados could strike at any moment so time is of the essence. The tribe will need to complete the project in the next couple of weeks. Smaller storms have already driven the fallen out of the city and added to the danger.

•Lack of food and fuel makes it hard to complete, we have many mouths to feed and our compassion has lead us to bring in children who are too young to help with food gathering and major works.

    The Characters:

•Kelvin, the Innocent: a 12 year old who carries around a fish in a baggie.

•Jaques, the Martyr: a 15 year old goth, fascinated by death.

•Penny, the Hunter: A 15 year old tasked with doing the wetwork for the tribe.
