    Ep 200: The Sphinx part 2 Nov 28, 2017
    Show notes

If we said we liked these origin theories we'd be lion. The second half of the 200th episode is nigh and dives deep into the theories of how the Sphinx came to be. Flora and Stecco juggle some rather outlandish origin theories for how the Sphinx was built and who built it, including ties to Atlantis, aliens, and pre-history. They also examine the claim that the stars match with the placement of the monuments on the ground. Ideas from researchers and authors such as Graham Hancock, John Anthony West, Robert Schoch, Colin Reader, Paul Jordan and many more are studied and discussed. Could it be older than anyone dares to think? The geology of the area is also scrutinized, and the theories of water erosion and weathering are considered. Dating the monument is much harder than the limestone it's made of, it seems. Join the boys of Blurry Photos as they tackle the big questions and the big theories in this monumental conclusion to a monumental milestone! Ep 200: The Sphinx part 1 Nov 20, 2017
    Show notes

Riddled with history. The double hildo is upon us, and the Davids celebrate with a massive 2-part episode on the Sphinx! Buried in equal parts sand and questions, the Sphinx is a huge ancient monument in Egypt with a history as obscure as a corn dog in a sandstorm. In part 1, the boys describe its current state and how it has fared over the millennia. A history - as best we can piece together - is discussed, including those who have dug it out of the dunes again and again. The myth of how it's nose was lost is examined, and the various artifacts, structures, and features found around it are looked at. The big questions are saved for part 2, as are the more fantastical claims. Aliens, Atlantis, Prophecy, Astrology, and much more are, much like Horus, on the horizon. But a solid grounding in real history and archaeology are first on the menu. Get out your camels and sunscreen, the 200th is stela good time, and we ain't lion! Cheers to helping us reach 200! Probably not, so don't even try. And stick around for a special spooky story by a certain special standup comedian. Happy Photober! Now the march towards Krampusnacht and Saturnailya begins! Hole-y Hell! Say your prayers, hold your breath, and grab some aloe, Blurry Photos are diving into hell holes in this one! Said to be entrances to any number of unhappy afterlifes, hell holes are pits and caves in the earth where one is said to be able to reach hell itself. Flora and Stecco take a look at several mythologies of traveling to hell. They also run down a list of famous sites said to be hellish access points throughout the world. The Door to Hell, Stull, KS, and Castle Houska are just a few of the spots where hell can supposedly be reached. The boys also discuss the disturbing legend of the Siberian Well to Hell. A yearly event in the small West Virginian town, the Mothman Festival celebrates the location's most infamous legend whilst paying homage to the victims of a real disaster. Listen to stories that happened along the way, character sketches for fun, and interviews from friends of the podcast! Justin Zenger from Zeng This! podcast and Derek Hayes from Monsters Among Us make an appearance, as does Thor as he drives through the hills of Ketucky.
