Twin Peaks (2017) Opening Title Sequence Apr 17, 2026
    Show notes

The imagery in the title sequence for Twin Peaks: The Return is portraying something different than the original series title sequence. Your host John looks into the differences between the standard sequence and the extended Part 1 sequence, whether the sequence is actually a path, why Lynch made sure to use a golden lens flare, and if could it actually be part of the story plot.

The Rancho Rosa Logos Apr 10, 2026
    Show notes

The Rancho Rosa logos at the beginning of every part of Twin Peaks: The Return have been a fascination of the fandom since we noticed the logos change colors each time. Your host John looks into the name Rancho Rosa, and all the elements of the logo, from placement of lettering, the sphere and the images that flicker within it, the background it appears to be flying into, and how the effects rhyme with similar effects used in the Twin Peaks parts.

    Show notes

Doug Milford says a real mystery is just out of reach, like a light around the corner. Your hosts John and Agent Ivy catch glimpses of what Mark Frost’s The Secret History of Twin Peaks reveals below its surface, linking the book to what we’ve seen before, and what we will see in Twin Peaks: The Return. When Twin Peaks’ mythology looks into a mirror, what does it see, and what looks back?

The Archivist of Mark Frost’s The Secret History of Twin Peaks says secrets are the work of humankind to consolidate and impose power, but what kind of secret keeper is Doug Milford? Do the book’s inconsistencies with canon reveal forgeries? Your host John sits down with Alison Ivy to talk about how the novel came to be, then they explore the book’s secrets and the groups that keep them.

    The Sparkwood & 21 Feedback Dossier Jan 01, 2026
    Show notes

This episode will give you a good indication of the initial response to Mark Frost’s The Secret History of Twin Peaks before the new Twin Peaks episodes were aired on Showtime.
In early 2017, your host John finished an extensive book analysis for Sparkwood & 21 podcast, and this episode is an audiobook of the entire art project.
Have fun with the predictions that are way off base, and keep an eye on how much of The Return’s mythology could be predicted from Frost’s book alone.

Lynch Interviews the Palmers in Between Two Worlds Dec 12, 2025
    Show notes

The Between Two Worlds special feature from the Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery box set may have seemed like a quirky epilogue to see what the Palmers would be like 25 years later, but your host John looks into how this is actually a bridge that has a lot to tell us about how Lynch was preparing for (and using the language of) The Return.
