Why Luis Suarez return makes sense - and how Virgil van Dijk has transformed Liverpool May 17, 2018
    Show notes

In the latest episode of Poetry in Motion, host Neil Fitzmaurice is joined by the returning Dan Kay and by Paul Wheelock.
The trio talk the perfect send off to Kiev that was the win over Brighton – and why Liverpool’s performance on the last day of the Premier League season bodes well for the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
The lads all agree on the transformative powers of Virgil van Dijk but they aren't all on the same page when it comes to the Dutch defender’s centre-back partner Dejan Lovren.
The club’s summer transfer business is also up for discussion including the tantalising if unlikely prospect of Luis Suarez returning to Anfield.
Thoughts then turn to the Champions League showpiece and the Madrid players who will pose the biggest danger to the Reds – and not just you know who.
And the podcast ends with a lengthy discussion about the deep disappointment and anger that Liverpool fans are feeling about how much they are being charged to get to and stay in Kiev.
Fitzy kicks it off by calling it a ‘shambles’. It’s a very interesting listen.

Blood Red podcast special - WWE Superstar Sheamus on CL final, Cristiano Ronaldo & Vince McMahon May 16, 2018
    Show notes

In a Blood Red podcast special, WWE superstar Sheamus joined the ECHO's tag-team of Paul Gorst and Joe Rimmer to speak about his love of Liverpool FC.
The Irishman, from Dublin, grew up a massive Liverpool fan and can't wait to watch the Reds take on Real Madrid in Kiev. The Celtic Warrior has been hugely impressed with Jurgen Klopp's impact at Anfield, as well as the form of some of the Reds' oft-criticised players.
Sheamus also tells us what it's like to follow Liverpool while on the road with WWE, why he is hoping it's not 'Rusev Day' on May 26 and which Superstars fancy themselves at on a football pitch.
There are also great insights into life as a WWE Superstar, his tag-team with Cesaro and whether he'd trade another WWE Championship for a sixth European Cup.
He also has some choice words for former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Liverpool's Champions League bonus, missing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and a warning to Rhian Brewster May 14, 2018
    Show notes

In the latest Blood Red podcast, regular host and Liverpool reporter Ian Doyle is joined by full-time Liverpool correspondent - both home and away - James Pearce and ECHO duo Kristian Walsh and Joe Rimmer to look back at an impressive win over Brighton and Hove Albion, show a lot of love for Andy Robertson, ponder Mohamed Salah once more and look at some less good news.
Also includes a phrase from Kristian that nobody really likes. At all. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

The importance of unorthodox Sadio Mane and Liverpool's final fling May 11, 2018
    Show notes

Finally we make it down to the end of the yellow brick road for the final game of Liverpool's Premier League season.
And it's not quite done yet for Jurgen Klopp and his players.
At least Chelsea's surprise midweek draw at home to Huddersfield Town has left the Reds needing only a point against Brighton and Hove Albion to secure Champions League football next season.
It means there should be a party atmosphere at Anfield to wave the team off to Kiev.
In the latest Blood Red podcast, regular host and Liverpool reporter Ian Doyle is joined by ECHO triumvirate Kristian Walsh, Paul Gorst and Dan Kay to assess the last few days.
First up is a brief discussion on the top-four race, and why the Reds are better off having something to play for on the final day.
The virtues of the returning Adam Lallana are discussed, while Mohamed Salah again gets a mention or three.
All are impressed with Sadio Mane considering he's meant to be having an indifferent season.
And Dan raises concerns over supporters heading out to Kiev and how once again they are being hit in the pocket for a big European final.
    It's informative. It's lively.
    And once again it's essential.

Champions League final rip off - and how the Anfield atmosphere has improved May 11, 2018
    Show notes

In the latest Allez Les Rouges podcast, our host Peter Hooton is joined by regulars Kieth Culvin and John Nicolson, as well as fellow season ticket holder, Joe Blott.
The lads reflect on the trip to Rome – both the bad and the very, very good – and how Chelsea’s Stoke-style performance paid the tired and injury-hit Reds the ultimate compliment.
They also preview Sunday’s final game of the league season at home to Brighton and question whether Mo Salah’s minor dip in form is anything to do with a hidden injury or the Ian Rush record he continues to chase.
Also up for discussion is the improved atmosphere at Anfield, the ‘Moan Stand’, and how Jurgen Klopp reads the crowd so well – as are John Henry’s rare public comments and the old net spend debate.
And another brilliant podcast rounds off with how Reds fans are getting ripped off even before they've landed in Kiev for the Champions League final.

Chelsea 'overreaction' - and what Klopp can do in the transfer market to prevent a repeat May 07, 2018
    Show notes

It has been a miserable Bank Holiday Monday for many Liverpool fans.
Beaten at Chelsea by Olivier Giroud's first-half goal, the Reds now face a nervy last day showdown with Brighton at Anfield for a place in next season's Champions League.
But are fans overreacting to Liverpool's defeat at Stamford Bridge? Especially as Jurgen Klopp's side have a Champions League final to look forward to.
With regular host Ian Doyle sunning himself in St Helens, Kristian Walsh steps in and is joined by full-time Liverpool reporter (both home and away) James Pearce, 'Tall' Paul Gorst and Joe Rimmer to analyse the defeat to Chelsea and work out how the Reds can avoid a similar scenario next season.
There's plenty of talk about why Liverpool have stumbled in the Premier League in recent weeks, what that means for Klopp's squad ahead of Brighton and that trip to Kiev, as well as what the Reds boss can do in the transfer market this summer. Is Jurgen Klopp underrated? He is Liverpool's unifying force May 04, 2018
    Show notes

In the latest episode of Poetry in Motion, host Neil Fitzmaurice is joined by first-team regular Joe Rimmer and debutant Paul Wheelock.
The lads talk the dramatic night in Rome that saw Liverpool qualify for the Champions League final with particular focus on the man who has made it all possible – Jurgen Klopp.
Reds fans worship the ground the charismatic Klopp walks on but, tactically, is he underrated outside of Anfield?
The lads also argue why supporters are writing new LFC history every bit as much as the players, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers gamble, why Real Madrid won’t know what’s hit them come May 26, and the spectre of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fitzy’s description of the self-styled CR7 is worth your time alone... but the rest of it is not bad either.

Why Real Madrid hold no fear for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in Champions League final May 03, 2018
    Show notes

On next to no sleep, the lads keep their eyes open long enough to discuss the dramatic second leg, the Reds’ remarkable run to the final, new record sets, magic Sadio Mane, and why ‘aristocrats’ Real Madrid will hold no fear for Jurgen Klopp’s resurgent side. Allez les Rouges - Why Stoke is every bit as important as Roma Apr 27, 2018
    Show notes

In the latest Allez Les Rouges podcast, our host Peter Hooton is joined by regulars Kieth Culvin, John Nicolson and Ste Monaghan, plus special guest, Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman.
Coleman’s miraculous achievements at Accrington this season are discussed but the main focus is on his beloved Reds and their incredible Champions League semi-final first-leg win over Roma.
The lads also debate what sets Mo Salah apart from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the underrated talents of James Milner, and why Jurgen Klopp is right to state the Stoke City game is every bit as important as the second leg v Roma.
It’s a brilliant listen as always. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
