    Road to Istanbul: Emotional encounter sees Reds complete Italian Job in Turin to reach last four of Champions League Apr 13, 2020

    Having beaten Juventus 2-1 at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, next up for Liverpool in their 2005 Champions League campaign was a trip to the Stade Delle Alpi. With no Steven Gerrard for the game, Rafa Benitez was able to welcome back Xabi Alonso, while Djibril Cisse was also on the bench in Turin too. Join Guy Clarke and Ian Doyle as they look back on the goalless draw as the Reds booked their place in the last four, where they'd come up against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea. With Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher leading the charge it was a night in which the Reds would show all the hallmarks of the spirit, grit and determination which would help them all the way to the final in Istanbul.     Liverpool Classics: Liverpool 5-0 Nottingham Forest | Barnes, Beardsley | 1987-88 and 2019-20 comparison Apr 12, 2020

    On Wednesday, April 13, 1988, Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool team produced one of the greatest performances in the club's rich history as they swept aside Nottingham Forest 5-0 at Anfield. Led by the majestic Peter Beardsley and John Barnes, the football the Reds played that night was out of this world. Every goal they scored was perfection itself. For anyone who was following Liverpool at that time, it's a match that will never be forgotten. And for anyone who wasn't, hopefully this podcast, hosted by Paul Wheelock and featuring Dan Kay, will help. Also on the agenda is another heartwarming gesture, led by Jordan Henderson, with Jamie giving an insight into what the Liverpool captain, as well as manager Jurgen Klopp, are like behind the scenes. Behind-closed-doors football and what Philbo and Jamie are missing most about the Reds is then discussed, before the podcast ends on an upbeat note, with the thought of eventually returning to Anfield, and seeing the Premier League trophy being held aloft by Henderson. Having scored 183 goals in 369 games we look into his Reds career from bursting onto the scene as a teenage goalscoring sensation, into playing a vital role in both the League Cup Final and UEFA Cup Final in 2001 there's plenty to get into.
