Blocked Party – Stefan Heck & John Cullen

Twitter Genius/Idiot Stefan Heck and comedian John Cullen invite guests on the program to talk about the who and the how of getting blocked on social media. From celebrities to jilted ex-lovers, every block has a story and we’re here to get to the bottom of it.

Episode 36: Jake Flores v. Jen Kirkman Jul 29, 2019
    Show notes

Jake Flores (comedian, Pod Damn America) spins the wheel of comedy blocks he has and lands on Jen Kirkman, who we find out even blocked one of our listeners for just tweeting “Russia” at her. The Blocked Boys then get riled up talking about dog poop in John’s elevator, fast food breakfast, Dina Hashem’s joke (we love it), Belle Delphine’s Pornhub grift, and Stefan gives us an update on John Delaney. Plus! The BBs talk at length about recording Cooked Party and Stefan eating the tuna and peas pizza.

Speaking of tuna and peas, that episode of Cooked Party will be live very soon at http://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5 a month gets you two bonus episodes every dang month. This month, we have the Cooked Party episode where Stefan eats a garbage pizza, and a Cameo bonus where Felix Biederman from Chapo Trap House joins us to review awful celebrity Cameos. Plus, you get access to our super-secret Discord server and we revealed this month that once you donate $50 lifetime to the show, we’ll send you a Blocked Party shirt. FOR FREE! We’re good like that. You help us, we help you. So get helping!

    Episode 35: Dave Shumka v. The Captain's Boil Jul 22, 2019
    Show notes

Dave Shumka (Stop Podcasting Yourself, This Sounds Serious) shows some dedication to the show, reviving his SPY Twitter exchange with crappy restaurant The Captain's Boil in an effort to be blocked for the show. That doesn't work, but a surprise post-show leads Dave to commit his first-ever block. The Blocked Boys also get into John's sober history, French Immersion, FaceApp, Deion Sanders Jr.'s intimate tweet to his father, and Stefan shares a bonus Block Tale that leads to a shocking admission from John.

For even more shocking content, donating $5/month to the Blocked Party Patreon at http://patreon.com/blockedparty will get you access to TWO bonus episodes per month. This month, we are joined by Felix from Chapo Trap House to go over our latest slew of celebrity Cameos headlined by Bam Margera, and we will be posting our first-ever video bonus episode this week, as John and Stefan cook that horrible tuna and peas pizza, and Stefan eats it. PLUS you get access to our top-secret Discord and we have some big announcements coming very soon you won't wanna miss!

Episode 34: Karen Geier v. Ed Krassenstein Jul 15, 2019
    Show notes

Karen Geier (writer, On Belief podcast) proves to be a dream guest as she's blocked by a long-time nemesis of the podcast, Ed Krassenstein, who follows up blocking her with a weird series of emails that do nothing to dispel the Krassenbrothers' creepy vibe. The Blocked Boys also get their shots in on Candy Crush: The Game Show, Chuck Wendig's horrible tweet, video game documentaries, the U.S. Women's Soccer team, and we end the show with the most Canadian Top 3 yet.

If you want to spend your Candy Crush money on something more worthwhile, why not head over to http://patreon.com/blockedparty and donate $5/month for some truly blessed content. We will reward your money with two bonus episodes a month and this month that means you currently get to hear all of our back catalogue PLUS our latest, some dreadful celebrity Cameos along with our friend Felix Biederman from Chapo. Later this month, our first-ever video bonus episode will arrive, as Stefan and John will make that tuna and peas pizza, and Stefan will eat it. All that, plus you get access to our top-secret and super awesome Discord channel. Just $5!

    Episode 33: Dave Harris v. An Ex-Girlfriend Jul 08, 2019
    Show notes

Dave Harris (comedian, Beer Me) uses the threat of a block to win back an ex-girlfriend (and it works! Sort of). Elsewhere, the Blocked Boys continue on their crusade to be the first show ever with multiple hosts that refuse to use the term co-host with middling results, and they reminisce on childhood skin mags. The three men also go in on Baby Shark, the Honor and Respect shoes, the family game where a dog pisses in your kid's face, and Stefan becomes an olive guy.

If you want some extra olives, you can donate $5 a month to http://patreon.com/blockedparty, where that donation gets you access to TWO sweet bonus episodes a month. We wrapped up June with two great bonuses with Jack Allison and Chris James, and July promises to be a doozy, with another Cameo episode coming out this Wednesday with a VERY special guest and our first-ever video bonus comes later this month as Stefan tries a tuna-and-peas pizza. It's a good time to be a donor.

    Episode 32: Stacey McLachlan v. A MasterChef Junior Parent Jul 01, 2019
    Show notes

Stacey McLachlan (comedian, Nasty Women Comedy, AfterChef Junior) shows us that you can never be too sure who listens to your podcast after she gets blocked by the parent of a MasterChef Junior contestant. It's also a huge episode as the Blocked Boys reveal their grand plans to host the first-ever live podcast inside an 18,000-seat arena with an idea that's too big to fail! PLUS: smart light bulbs go way too far, Scott Stapp sings the national anthem, and we learn that Stacey knows far too much about McGruff the Crime Dog's anti-drug album, which is somehow a real thing.

If you want to contribute to a cause better than saying no to drugs, you can do so at Michael Che's favourite Patreon account, http://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5 a month gets you access to TWO bonus episodes per month that are guaranteed to be heard by your favourite SNL writer. We have that recent episode all about Che's feud with Jack Allison live now, and coming in July, the BBs are going to do their first-ever VIDEO bonus! Stefan and John will debut Cooked Party and Stefan will have to eat that nasty tuna-and-peas pizza. Only $5 for a world of madness even we don't understand.

    Episode 31: Jon Hendren v. Lin-Manuel Miranda Jun 24, 2019
    Show notes

Jon Hendren (@fart, internet funnyman) hates that we introduce him as "internet funnyman", but we do it anyway. We also hate Lin-Manuel Miranda's daily affirmations, and Jon tells the story of how he found out that LMM hates when people criticize Hamilton on Twitter. The Blocked Boys also get serious about cooking techniques, old man fights, and vehicles in movies, while John learns about the world of Amo Amo and OJ Simpson gets Twitter.

If you want to learn more about the world of Blocked Party, you can do so by donating $5/month to the BP Patreon, which gets you access to TWO extra-special bonus episodes per month. Go to http://patreon.com/blockedparty and you'll get access to our latest where Jack Allison profiles his Twitter beef with SNL's Michael Che and Stefan talks about being blocked by right-wing "comedian" Steven Crowder. You also get access to our super-secret Discord and the love of the Blocked Boys. What could be more special than that?

    Episode 30: Hunter Collins v. "Felix" Jun 17, 2019
    Show notes

Hunter Collins (comedian) brings a hidden identity with him to the podcast, as the threat of actual legal action makes this Block Tale so juicy we can't reveal exactly who he was blocked by. But it's a wild story and easily our best Blocked Tale yet. Around that, the Blocked Boys get into John's numerous spoken mishaps on the pod, some more controversial food takes, and the BBs finally weigh in on the Doctor Disrespect incident.

One way to avoid all controversy is to donate to Blocked Party on Patreon, where $5/month at http://patreon.com/blockedparty gets you two bonus episodes a month! This month, we've got our first ever BP Mailbag with our best pal Chris James which is out now, and this week, you'll see another Hell Block bonus episode with our pal Jack Allison, where we run down his entire run-in with SNL's Michael Che. Only $5!

Episode 29: Kath Barbadoro v. Nick Jackson Jun 10, 2019
    Show notes

Kath Barbadoro (comedian, What a Time to Be Alive, Wrestlesplania) demonstrates how wrestlers are the most egregious name searchers on earth, as she manages to get blocked on both her personal and podcast account by one of the AEW's Young Bucks without ever tagging him. The Blocked Boys also open another embarrassing chapter in John's personal history, as he remembers the absolutely terrible musical he was a part of in grade 7 called "Teen II: The Competition". Plus, we look at high school disaster drills, Lululemon founder Chip Wilson's weird boner essay, and Stefan continues on his crusade to get blocked by Presidential candidate John Delaney.

If you want to go on a crusade to be the coolest person in your friend group, you can also donate $5/month to http://patreon.com/blockedparty, where you'll find all of our bonus content including our most recent episode where we interview the Krassenstein brothers with our pal Michael Hale. Our back catalogue has appearances from Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley, Will Menaker, Jesse Farrar, Chris James, Sophie Buddle, and all your other faves, so what are you waiting for?

    Episode 28: Tom Hill v. A Basketball Player Jun 03, 2019
    Show notes

Tom Hill (comedian, Hip.Bang!) is the first person to come on the show with a PHYSICAL block, as he gets owned in a game of basketball and his dead tooth from the incident haunts his acting career from then on. After the Blocked Boys once again dive into their small-handedness, Tom gets into a heated argument with Stefan about piano-playing that spans far too long--like a canal(John makes a lot of canal puns in lieu of choosing sides). And amidst all that, the social media updates get wild as Stefan digs into the Scripps National Spelling Bee, John reads one of the most insane r/relationships posts of all-time, and Tom encourages the BBs into their most sincere Top 3 yet.

If you want to show your sincere love for the Blocked Boys, you can do so by donating $5/month to their Patreon at http://patreon.com/blockedparty, where this month things get truly insane as the boys land an exclusive interview with the recently banished Krassenstein brothers. Michael Hale from Your Kickstarter Sucks! is also involved, somehow. We still aren't sure. You also get access to our super-secret, super-fun Discord channel, and other perks to be announced soon! So get down on it!

Episode 27: Alex Goldman v. William Shatner May 27, 2019
    Show notes

Alex Goldman (Reply All) and the Blocked Boys attempt to solve a mystery for the ages: if you never interact with someone, why do they block you? We dig around to try and find the truth about why Alex was blocked by Captain Kirk. The BBs also explore the great history of “Twitter Wives”, from Elf Wife and Curvy Wife to the newest sensation, Cliff Wife. And finally, we discuss the best way to quit your job, the Krassensteins getting banned from Twitter, and introduce a new character: The Guy on the Train.

If you want to be more of a character yourself, a great way to do that is by donating $5 to http://patreon.com/blockedparty, where that donation gets you access to our top-secret Discord server (a REAL cast of characters), and TWO bonus episodes per month. This month, we invite on fave guest Sophie Buddle to review cringeworthy celebrity Cameos with us, and coming up this week, a very special episode with a very, VERY special guest you won’t want to miss. $5 a month and that’s it!
